7:
“What can I get you?” Kennedy asked.
Robin did a double take. “Since when do you work here?”
“Since tonight,” Kennedy told him.
“Bring us a couple of beers,” Gunn said.
After Kennedy left, Robin’s eyes wandered back to the stage.
“So,” Gunn said. “Are you and Faith an item?”
“What makes you ask?”
“The way you’re currently drooling over miss thang and her gyrating self right now up on that stage.”
“We’ve gone out a few times,” Robin said. “But I don’t think we’ve reached the ‘item’ phase yet. What about you? Are you seeing anybody?”
“Why? You thinking about asking me out?” Gunn joked.
***
“Will,” Dawn said.
“What?”
“I have a question.”
“Shoot,” Willow said.
Dawn carried the spell book she had been reading over to the witch and put it down in front of her. “Could you do this?”
Willow’s eyes widened when she saw what spell the book in front of her was opened to.
“Isn’t Drusilla his sire?”
“Yes,” Willow said. “But I don’t think...” she stopped when Buffy entered the library.
“What’s going on?” The slayer asked.
Dawn looked at Willow, then back at her sister. “Nothing,” she said, closing the book.
“I’m going to the club for my final meeting with Jennifer,” Buffy said.
“I thought we were still gonna keep an eye on that place,” Willow said.
“We are, but Jennifer doesn’t know that. She’s gonna pay me the rest of the money she owes me.”
“Have fun,” Willow said.
“Hey Dawnie,” Buffy said. “You wanna ride along with me? We can go out for ice cream afterwards.”
“Ice cream?” Dawn asked. “I think I’m a little old for...”
“Well, if you don’t want to, I can always...”
“Ok,” Dawn said, standing. “Just reverted to my second childhood. Bring on the ice cream ”

“My break is in a few minutes,” Jennifer told Buffy as she showed her to a table. “I’ll bring you a Coke while you wait.”
Later while Buffy was sipping her Coke she started getting serious vibes off the other customers in the club. That’s when she decided to hang around for a little while.
She pulled out her cell phone and called Dawn on the vans car phone.
“This might take a little longer than originally planed,” Buffy told her sister. “Do you want me to call Will or Xand and have them come and get you?”
“No,” Dawn said. “I’m perfectly safe in this tank-like-van that Angel loaned us.”
“But won’t you get bored?” Buffy asked. “I don’t know how long I’m gonna be here.”
“Please,” Dawn said. “I’ve got a stereo and I can turn it up as loud as I want to and no one but me can hear it.”
“If you say so,” Buffy said. “Just make sure all the doors are locked and don’t roll down the window for anyone but me, Xander, Faith...”
“You don’t have to name every person I’ve ever met in my life,” Dawn said. “I’ll be fine,” she insisted.
***
Faith took another drag off her cigarette and exhaled slowly.
“Still not sure why you took up that nasty habit,” Kennedy said.
“Thought I was gonna spend most of my life in prison. Didn’t really see anything much left to live for,” Faith admitted.
“You getting the strange vampire vibes too?”
Faith nodded.
“Are there even any humans left in the place?”
Faith shrugged as the back door opened and Jennifer walked out.
“What are you guys doing out here?” Jennifer asked.
“We’re on break,” Kennedy said.
“That’s odd,” Jennifer said. “You’d think Carlos would’ve spaced out our breaks a little since we’re so short-handed tonight.”
“He just told us a few minutes ago that we could take our breaks now,” Faith said.
The door opened again and Tracy walked out.
“You on break too?” Jennifer asked.
Tracy nodded.
“Ok, this is getting really weird. Now there are no waitresses left in the club.”
“Hey,” Faith said to Jennifer. “Didn’t I see you talking to that girl from that detective agency a few minutes ago?”
“Yeah,” Jennifer said. “I was paying the rest of the money I owed her.”
Kennedy looked at Faith wide eyed. “You don’t think...”
“It’s a trap,” Faith finished.
The two slayers headed for the back door.
“I’m afraid I can’t let you in there,” Tracy said, revealing her game face.
Jennifer screamed.
***
Dawn had the radio up full blast and she was singing along to the new Britney Spears song, which she hated, but had heard so much she pretty much knew all the words.
She looked up as the front door of the club opened and watched as two vampires drug her sister out.
“Oh ” Dawn cried. She grabbed a stake and some holy water out of the glove box and opened the van door.
***
After Kennedy dusted Tracy, she and Faith ran into the club. Jennifer followed.
Faith and Kennedy surveyed the club and didn’t see any sign of Buffy, or anyone else for that matter.
“Where is everyone?” Jennifer asked her boss.
“They went home. I decided to close up early,” Carlos said. “You guys can go too.”
“Did you see where the blond went that was sitting at that table?” Faith asked.
“She probably left when everyone else did,” Carlos said.
“I never said it was a ‘she,’” Faith said.
“Well, I saw her. Kinda hard to miss. Pretty thing like that in a place like this. She seemed out of place.”
“Somehow, I’m not buying that,” Faith said.
***
Outside the club, Dawn threw two vials of holy water on the vampires that were dragging her unconscious sister.
The vampire growled at her, but didn’t release Buffy.
“Oh, crap,” Dawn said, trying to figure out her next move.
The front door burst open and Faith and Kennedy ran out with Jennifer following closely behind.
Faith jumped the vamp that was holding Buffy’s left arm, Kennedy jumped the other.
“Help me get her to the van,” Dawn said to Jennifer.
“You’re Dawn, right?”
Dawn nodded as they started dragging Buffy to the van.
“I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say you guys know each other,” Jennifer said.
***
“How are you feeling?” Dawn asked later, after Buffy had finally woken up.
“Like I got hit on the head with a semi,” Buffy said, rubbing the back of her head.
“What happened?” Faith asked.
“Let’s see. I saw Jennifer go toward the back of the club. Then some chick followed her.”
“That was Tracy,” Faith supplied.
“Vampire?” Buffy asked.
“Used to be,” Faith said.
“Then suddenly I was surrounded by pretty much everyone in the club.”
Kennedy and Willow entered Buffy’s bedroom and Willow handed her an ice pack.
“Thanks,” Buffy said. “I think I took out three or four before one of them came up behind me and clobbered me.”
“Well, I guess we should let you rest,” Faith said, heading for the door. She stopped and turned around to face Buffy.
“What is it?” Buffy asked.
“Robin and Gunn were there, right?”
“Yeah. I saw them right before I got surrounded.”
“Has anyone heard form them since?”
