6:
“How is she?” Xander asked.
“A little shaken up,” Willow told him. “But she’s sleeping now.”
“Well, that’s understandable,” Xander said. “Some guy that she once, and possibly still, cared about went all dusty right in front of her. I’d wig too,” Xander said, then stopped. “You know that I mean girl for me, right?”
Willow rolled her eyes.
Xander turned to Buffy. “‘So, what do we do now?’ Xander asks, quickly changing the subject.”
Buffy and Willow exchanged an amused glance.
“Ok, laughing at Xander time is over. What’s our next move?”
“We’ll just keep doing what we were doing, with the exception of you and me. Faith, Robin, and Gunn are still at the club and their cover hasn’t been blown yet. So, I’m just gonna hang out here until Faith calls.”
“Who’s scheduled for patrol tonight?” Xander asked.
“You and Andrew,” Buffy said.
“Why me?” Xander asked.

Carlos dropped Faith off at her motel around three am. The first thing she did was call Buffy.
“Where are you?” Buffy asked.
“I’m at the motel,” Faith said. “My boss just dropped me off.”
“Is he by any chance a vampire?” Buffy asked.
“So then I take it you noticed that the club was full of them,” Faith said.
“Kinda hard to miss. So, is he?”
“Nope, one-hundred percent human. Morals may be a little off, but still human. So’s the bartender and a couple of the girls I met tonight.”
“I got the feeling that most of the waitresses were of the undead persuasion.”
“The ones I met, and the DJ too, all fangy.”
“I really don’t like you working there with all those vampires,” Buffy said.
“I’ve got Robin and Gunn for backup. Andrew showed up around eleven, and had big fun poking money down my g-string.”
“I’m sorry,” Buffy said sincerely. “No woman should have to live through that.”
Faith laughed. “Well, I’m keeping the money. Do they sell geek repelent?”
“I don’t know. Maybe Willow could try to whip up a batch of it.”
“Yeah,” Faith joked, “and we could sell it. Ooh, even better Andrew could go door to door selling it. People would buy it just so he’d go away ”
They both burst out laughing and didn’t stop for a full three minutes.
“Ok,” Buffy said, gasping for breath. “I think we need sleep.”
“No arguments there, B,” Faith agreed. “Oh, how’s Jennifer?”
“She’s asleep right now. She was a little freaked out earlier, but Willow calmed her down, I think.”
“Too bad we don’t have someone else we can send in undercover. My boss just posted a sing saying he needs waitresses.”
“Maybe we do,” Buffy said.
“You wanna tell me who?”
“I have to talk it over with someone first.”
“Ok, I guess I’m gonna go to bed now. I’ll call you tomorrow from the club and tell you what’s going on.”
“Ok,” Buffy said.

“What are you gonna do?” Kennedy asked.
“I guess try another locator spell,” Willow said. “But I think someone is blocking Cordy’s location.”
“Is there a spell for unblocking blocking spells?” Dawn asked.
“Yeah. But I’d have to know who was blocking the spell, the general area where they were located and what spell they were using so I could counteract it.”
“So, that would be a ‘not in this case?’” Dawn guessed.
“Right,” Willow said.
“Can I help? Maybe I could look through some spell books. See if I could find a spell you haven’t already thought of, or possibly one you didn’t know existed?”
“You’ll have to ask Buffy about that,” Willow told her.
“But, it’s research,” Dawn argued. “And I’m research girl now, remember?”
“Not with magic,” Willow reminded her.
“Fine,” Dawn said, standing. “Where is she?”
“In her room.”
“Ok, I’ll be right back.”
Kennedy glanced at her watch. “I should get going,” she said.
“Call me later?” Willow asked.
“Of course,” Kennedy said as she kissed her goodbye.
Jennifer walked into the library shortly after Kennedy left.
“How are you feeling?” Willow asked her.
“Better,” Jennifer said. “Still a little freaked out, but dealing. I guess.”
“Did you call the club?”
Jennifer nodded. “The good news is, my boss isn’t mad at me for leaving last night. The bad news is he wants me to come in to work tonight.”
“Do you feel up to it?”
“I guess,” Jennifer said. “He also said that some of the girls called in sick.”

Kennedy knocked on the door to Faith’s motel room and waited.
“What are you doing here?” Faith asked.
“A little undercover work,” Kennedy told her. “I got the room next door.”
“Does that mean we know each other?”
Kennedy smiled as she pulled out her shiny new fake ID.
“Angel Morgan?” Faith asked.
“We’re sisters,” Kennedy told her.
“Angel?” Faith mused. “That’s original.”
“We’ve got a little time before my interview at the club. I was thinking we could go to that diner down the street and grab a bite to eat while we get our stories straight.”
“But I was SO looking forward to my vending machine granola bar,” Faith said.
Later, at the club, Carlos took one look at Kennedy and gave her the job on the spot.
“Can you start tonight?” He asked.
“Sure,” Kennedy said.
“You can wear Taylor’s uniform tonight.”
“Where’s Taylor?” Faith wondered.
“She called in sick,” Carlos said. “So did the bartender, and most of my waitresses.”
“That’s odd,” Faith said. “Maybe there’s some new flu going around or something.”
“Probably,” Carlos said. “I have to tend bar, so can you show our new waitress around?”
“Sure,” Faith said. Then to Kennedy she added, “Come on sis, I’ll give you the grand tour.”
“Oh, April,” Carlos called after them, “I’m also going to need you to do a couple extra sets on stage tonight.”
“Sure boss,” Faith said.
“That was surprisingly easy,” Kennedy said when they were alone in the dressing room.
“I know,” Faith agreed. “And don’t you find it a little suspicious that so many people called in sick on the same night?”
“Not really,” Kennedy said. “If something is going around.”
“Would you find it stranger if all the people that ‘called in sick,’ with the exception of Carlos, were the only ones that work here that aren’t vampires?”
