We were back in the Library. These people seemed to have set up their camp in here. Giles pulled me aside while the kids slept off the night. He made it back here after throwing Sabretooth's money off a peir.

"Wolverine,", he started, but I had to cut him off. "People I rumble with call me Logan.", I told him. "Logan then. I don't know how to thank you.", he told me. I said, "Here's a start. Take down the mutie posters."

He looked me straight in the eye when he said what he said next. Can barely believe it, can't figure it out, but he had more guts than a bucket of chitterlin's. "I'm sorry, Logan. I just can't do that." He gulped. "Humanity is in the midst of a violent upheavel. For Homo Sapiens to survive the way God intended him to, measures must be taken to contain Homo Superior. A cure must be found, and until that time only education and careful segregation are the answer to this problem."

Giles took off his glasses. "I know it's hard to accept oneself's existence as a disease for the rest of the race. There are many vampires that probably think that killing us for pleasure is nesseccary. There are many werewolves who simply refuse to admit to themselves that they have a disease. But just because you don't believe that you are a plague on humanity doesn't mean you aren't.

"If you really wanted to help, you would not go back to the X-Men, an outlaw band of mutants. You would aid your fellow mutants by showing them the way to peaceful reintegration with the core of humanity, or perhaps a wave of suicide to protect us all." The Librarian was on a roll. "Mutants that gather followings like Magneto are terrorists. Genosha was a paradise until mutants rebelled against the government's intents for them, and now the island is ravaged with civil unrest. You could start the beginning of the rebuilding of human kind."

"Go tell your garbage to the Freinds of Humanity.", I spat at him while walking out the door. Giles gasped. "Logan. I am not interested in hate groups, they solve nothing but allowing the irrational mob mentality a lethal edge. What I am interested in is peace and safety. As long as mutants exist, there will be none."

Those words echoed in my mind as I rode to San Fran. I'm the best there is at what I do. But would I have to do it if I wasn't here?

* * *
It was a clear, moon lit night. Dru (in bikini) pushed Spike (in wheel chair, swimming trunks and ever present leather trench coat) by the side of a pool. Even though both had their human visages showing, the other guests of the hotel moved away from the two quickly. Just something in the air around them.

Dru gently lowered Spike into the pool. "This's been a long time commin' luv.", Spike told her, now able to support himself in the water. "Spike...", Dru cooed to him. "Would you want my breasts if they were big as the Slayer's?", she asked him.
