Chapter 13: Part 1
When everyone gathered at the Magic Box the following morning, they found this worlds Giles asleep at the table with Willow’s spell book in front of him.
“Should we wake him?” Buffy asked.
“If you guys ever want to get home,” the other Buffy said.
“Yo Giles!” the Xander said.
“Huh?” the watcher mumbled, sitting up. “Oh,” he said, adjusting his glasses. “You’re back.”
“Yep,” Buffy said.
“Did you find anything?” Willow asked.
“I have a theory,” Giles said.
“If the next words out of your mouth have to do with a dancing demon I am SO out of here,” Xander joked.
INTERLUDE 10: Part 1
“He’s still your son,” Dawn reminded him.
“I know that,” Angel said.
“And he’s sorry.”
Angel sighed. “Dawn, I know you’re trying to help, but this really isn’t any of your business.”
“Oh,” Dawn said. “Fine.”
“Dawn,” Angel said. “I’m sorry. It’s just that there are things about him that you don’t know.”
“Like what?” Dawn asked. “The fact that you and Darla are his parents? That Holtz stole him from you last year when he was a baby? That he spent fifteen years in what could only be called a ‘hell dimension?’ That he thinks you killed Holtz? Or, that when he came back he spent the night with a girl that over dosed on drugs?”
Angel was speechless.
“Did I leave anything out?” Dawn asked. “Well, beside the fact that him and Justine sunk you to the bottom of the ocean?”
“He told you all of this?” Angel asked.
Dawn nodded. “He trusted me.”
“But...”
“See there, it is my business and I am already involved.”
“Where is he?” Angel asked.
“I don’t know,” Dawn admitted. “Last time I say him he was leaving me alone at the diner.”
“We have to find him,” Angel said, grabbing his coat.
“Uh,” Dawn said. “How are you planning on doing that?”
“I can track his scent,” Angel said as he headed for the door.
“But it’s day.”
“Oh,” Angel said. “Got an extra blanket I can borrow?”
“Sure,” Dawn said.

Chapter 13: Part 2
“So, what’s your theory?” Buffy asked.
“You prepared for the protection spell and cast the dimension portal spell, correct?” Giles asked.
Willow nodded.
“Well, I believe that if you prepare for the protection spell again and cast the reverse of the dimension portal spell than you should be sent to your own world.”
Willow’s eyes widened.
“Will that work?” Buffy asked.
“I can’t believe I didn’t think of that!” Willow said.
“I’ll take that as a ‘yes.’” Buffy said.
INTERLUDE 10: Part 2
Connor walked past Dawn’s house for the third time that day. He wanted to see her, but he wasn’t ready to face his father yet. So he just kept on going.
Across town, Dawn was pulling Angels convertible into the covered parking lot a block away from the Magic Box.”
“Where did you learn to drive?” Angel asked her when she let him out of the trunk.
Dawn smiled. “Actually, I didn’t. Everything I know about driving I learned by watching Buffy.”
“That explains a lot,” Angel said as he took the cover off the manhole. “The Magic Box is located where Dragon’s Cove used to be, right?”
Dawn nodded.
“Then I’ll see you there,” the vampire said before he dropped down into the sewers.
Dawn sighed and walked above ground to the Magic Box. When she got there, Angel was already inside.
“Ok,” Gunn said. “Let’s get to work on finding a way to find Buffy and her friends.”
“Ok,” Angel said. “But as soon as it gets dark I am hot on Connors trail.”
Chapter 13: Part 3
“Wait,” the Tara said. “Before you cast the spell I need all of you to let me get a little of your blood.”
“Blood?” Xander asked. “Why? Are you a vampire?”
“No,” Tara said, “it’s for the anchor. In case you don’t get home. So you can come back here.”
“Marvelous idea, Tara,” Giles said. “Though I doubt the spell will fail. It’s a good idea to keep out options open.”
“Then if it doesn’t work we can try to find another way to send you home,” Tara said.
“And if it does,” Willow said, “I can come back and tell you it worked.”
Tara smiled. “That’s the idea.”
