Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all related characters are property of Joss Whendon. I had nothing to do with creating Buffy. I'm not getting paid for this story. Shelly and Karos I did make up for the purposes of this story.

Part Seven

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“The beginning”

Buffy went flying across the room again. Her body slammed against a wall and slid to the ground in a heap. “THAT was for putting me in a wheel chair!” Spike yelled pointing at her. Buffy looked up at the vampire through a swelled eye. Spike casually walked up to her and kicked her in the stomach. “THAT is for being a nuicense time and time again.” Buffy clutched her mid section, coughing and gasping for air. Just as she caught her breath another kick knocked the wind out of her again. “THAT is for the time your mother hit me with an ax!” He stood her back up and knocked her down. “And THAT’S for putting me in a wheel chair!”

“You said that already Spike.” Karos said as he enjoyed the show.

“I know. I thought the whole wheelchair bit was worth two hits.” Spike explained, rubbing his hands together.

“Now, now. We want her conscious when we drink from her. We want her to feel the full affect. Lothos would have wanted her to know what it was like to be the meal of a vampire.”

Spike once again lifted up the battered body of Buffy Summers. She could barely make out the other vampire moving her way. Her thoughts swam around her head like a cloud. At least she had come back. She had set things right with her mother and her friends. And she didn’t have to worry because the new slayer was already here. She didn’t like Shelly much, but her attitude was just what she needed to make it as a Vampire Slayer in Sunnydale. Giles would train her well, and Xander and Willow would be there to help her out. It would be a new beginning. A new adventure. The closing in of fangs near her neck let her know that her adventure was over.

“I’ll drink from the right side, and you the left side.” Karos said as he held Buffys’ head up, exposing her neck.

“My right, or your right?” Spike joked.

The two laughed as they bent down to feed. Suddenly Karos stopped just short of her jugular. Spike hesitated, wondering what was wrong. “Who the hell....” Karos said turning around. Spikes look of wonder became shock when he saw That Karos had a Stake embedded in his back. Karos saw Buffys’ friends standing there, Shelly taking the lead. The old vampire could feel its molecules tearing apart from the inside. He struggled to hold himself together. “Who, who are you.” Karos gritted.

“I’m Shelly, the vampire slayer!” Shelly announced triumphantly. Karos exploded into dust. Behind Shelly, Willow, Oz, and Xander stood, brandishing crosses. “Let her go.” Shelly ordered with no nonsense whatsoever.

Spike released Buffy and she fell to the ground with a thud. “I don’t believe this. Another slayer? There’s supposed to be one! Where do you keep coming from?” Spike shook his head, and sighed. “Well then, another night, Slayer.” He turned and retreated out of the building and into the darkness. Buffys’ friends didn’t follow. They huddled around Buffy.

Xander and Willow cradled her, pulled her hair back and whiped the blood from her face. “Buffy, Buffy, are you okay? Xander asked, worried.

Buffy kind of moaned and looked up at her friends. They were better sights to see then those two vampires. “I’m not dead?” she said in a scratchy tired voice.

“You’re not dead.” Willow assured her, smiling sweetly at her friend. “You’re okay.”

Buffy sat snugly in her bed, sipping her chicken soup. Her mother caressed her cheek, being careful to avoid the bruised areas. “I’m never going to get used to this, honey. When Giles told me that someone else was the slayer now I was so glad, but now I think I’d rather you be the slayer again.”

“I’m all right mom.” Buffy meekly said. “I’ll just have to be more careful in the future, that’s all.”

Xander, Willow and Shelly walked into her room. “Well, you have some visitors. I’ll get you some more soup.” Buffys’ mother left the room, and the gang gathered around Buffys’ bed.

“Your staring to look better.” Willow said sounding encouraging.

“Yeah, I don’t heal as fast as I used to, but I’m getting there.” Buffy said with a smile.

“Don’t listen to her.” Xander told Buffy. “You always look better.”

Buffy laughed and looked at Shelly. “Thanks for saving my butt. You did good the other night. You’ll make a good slayer.”

“Oh thankyou. The almighty former slayer has spoken.” Shelly said with light hearted sarcasm. The group laughed and the ending is a happy one. Now, on to the beginning.

NEXT TIME on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER Shellys skills as the new slayer of Sunnydale are tested when a group of gargoyles roll into town. Meanwhile, Buffy tries to explore being a normal slayerless average highschool senior by going to a major party with........Cordelia? Watch out for “Gargoyles”
