Part Five

"Ok Giles said all I have to do is find my way through this labyrinth thingy to Angel and ta-da all will happy." Buffy said to herself as she entered the hellmouth and the start of her journey. She walked along a stone passage waiting for a fork in the road or something that even remotly resembled a maze. After walking what seemed to be hours she looked at her watch, she had been walking for hours. "wait a minute, she thought to herself, a maze doesn't go straight" She leaned against the wall tiredly, "ahhhhhhh" Buffy screamed as she fell right through the wall. She looked up and realized that all along she had been doing it wrong, the first part of the maze was simply walking through that nonexistant wall. She picked herself up from the ground and looked at her surroundings, she seemed to be in a cave, which would explain the rocky things hanging form the ceiling, she seemed to recall them from science class as something call stalag- stalag something she couldn't quite remember.
"Angel where are you" she called out to the darkness.

The crystal hanging form his neck seemed to have become more lusterous in appearance, and something in the back of his mind called to Angel, but he couldn't quite place the feeling. His quiet whisper rang out in the shadowy cell "I love you Buffy..."

"Look what got here, a tasty little treat from the other realm" a voice rang behind Buffy. Spinning quickly on her hell she turned to face her opponent. "Ugly thing aren't you" she called back to the vampire who now had put on his game face. The vampire moved in to attack her but she she was quicker as she staked him and he dissapeared into a cloud of dust. Immediantly after a porthole opened revealing yet another stone passageway.
Buffy stepped through unhesitatingly.
She looked aorund her surroundings and immediantly felt something. She knew what it was,it was a presence, his presence. "Angel?" she called out hopefully. She didn't expect an answer so she jumped a foot in the air when she heard him call out her name. "Where are you?" She asked as she turned to the stone wall where his voice was coming from. "I'm right here, behind the wall." She heard his voice so seductive and warm, yet gentle and brooding. "Angel...she whispered...then calling out loudly I have the crystal, but how are we going to get them together, you are on that side of the wall and I'm over here." "Touch the wall Buffy" he called out to her "touch the wall where my hand is and break it down with your love." Buffy placed her hand along the wall's smooth surface and it began to tremble. As she watched in wonder and curiousty the wall began to melt revealing her Angel.
"Angel" she called out the last note of her voice tacked with a tiny sob. Angel reached out and pulled her tiny body into his arms as he whispered into her hair "I'm here baby, I'm here" By this time Buffy was sobbing in his arms afriad that something would happen to tear them apart again. As if reading her mind he said "I will never ever leave you again." as he pulled her closer into his embrace feeling her warmth wanting to hold her forever and not let go. "The-The crystal" Buffy said. "Right here" Angel pulled out a tiny circular jewel whose middle had been cut out to revel a hole in which the other crystal would fit into. She slipped it into the jewel and immediantly felt the ground upon which they stood begin to shake. "Quick, we have to get out of here" Angel said to her, but even as he was speaking stones were beggining to crumble around them. The two rushed through the maze, Buffy in the lead,back towards the entrance only stopping to rest when they were safe on the cool earth again.

Epilogue
Buffy lay in Angel's arms in his apartment with her head upon his chest loving the way his human heart made a pitter-patter sound. It had been only yesterday that they had escaped out of the hellmouth and once they had told everyone that they were safe she and Angle had gone and seen their first sunrise together. Now the two lay happily in each others arms. Angel leaned over and brushed Buffy's lips with a feather light kiss, "I love you Buffy" he said. She returned the kiss , long passionate one,and just enjoyed the feel of his strong arms around her knowing that now, she and Angel could truly be together for always.
