When I hit a block, I start to daydream and just try to put myself in the character's place, sort of like role-playing, I guess. I think to myself, okay, well, what would I do in this situation, or what would I say? Or I'll stray from the main plot and do a little subplot with a less-developed character. I usually break through the block afterwards, and the story's got a more natural and real flow to it.
