"Hello," a male voice answered. Willow froze, she hadn’t actually expected the number
to work. "Um, is Angel there?" "Will, it’s me, what’s wrong? Is Buffy ok?"
"We’re all fine, but are you? I mean I was sort of … worried about you. I guess I figured that I … we would have heard from you by now. Buffy said that your apartment was deserted. Are you staying with friends? Do you have friends? I mean someone besid es us?"
"Calm down, I’m just getting away from things for awhile. I’ll come back in a few days … And I still have you don’t I?" "Yes, but come back soon." "I will." Click. * That was strange, it was just like talking to a normal guy; my hands are sweaty and I babbled like an idiot. God, I’m a spaz. *

Another week came and went with no sign of Angel. Willow kept herself busy with her English homework. She had a creative writing paper due tomorrow, but she couldn’t get her story right. The assignment was write a fictional story based on people you kn ow as the main characters. She glanced at the clock, 3 am. I just need to stay awake alittle …
BUZZ! BUZZ!
Willow sat up. It was 7 o’clock. "Ahh, I’m gonna be late!" She hurried and got ready for school. Today was definitely a ponytail day. She copied the paper to a disk and started printing. She grabbed her bag and headed out.
Classes went great as usual. Sunnydale seemed so calm lately. Almost normal, well as normal as you can get on the mouth of hell! After school, Willow’s teacher stopped her in the hall.
"Willow, your story was magnificent … you took a different route than I was expecting, but you pulled it off brilliantly."

Will went to the library after class and pulled up her story, "Two Friends." * What a stupid title! * "Hey Buffy," Willow said as Buffy entered the room. "Hey Will, you look happy what’s up?" "Mrs. Williams loved my story." Buffy smiled, "You mea n the story that you complained about all morning because you didn’t get to finish it?" Willow smiled. "So read it to me miss smarty pants." Willow looked at the monitor and began reading:

"What?" Buffy asked. Willow quickly skimmed the screen. She looked confused, "Buffy, this isn’t my story. It’s the same title, but it’s a completely different story. For one thing, it’s from a guys point of view." "You mean you didn’t write it?" "When I fell asleep last night, my story was about two friends, this story is about a guy in love with two friends." Buffy laughed, "Who wrote it then, elves?"

Willow sat on her bed. * But if I didn’t write the story, who did? I fell asleep and woke up with my head next to the keyboard and there was no one else in my room … was there? * She slowly looked around the room for anything out of place. She fo und a piece of scratch paper in the trash can. It wasn’t her handwriting. * Who has been in here? The handwriting looks so familiar … * "Angel!" Willow said as she realized it matched her previous note.
"What about Angel?" Buffy said as she walked through the doorway. "Nothing … I was just wondering where he’s been." Willow said as she dropped the paper back into the trash can.
"Obviously not around here," Buffy laughed. "So are you ready for this mega study session or are little elves going to help you with this too?"

After Buffy left that night, Will grabbed the paper out of the trash can. It was a plot outline for her new and improved story. * Why would Angel come to my bedroom and then do my homework? * It was getting late, so Willow wrote a short note and left it on her keyboard.
Angel,
Thanks for the help. Why didn’t you wake me up? I’ll be at the Bronze tomorrow night. I need to talk to you.
