Kennedy finished her shower and was walking to the bedroom wrapped in her towel. When she entered the room she saw Willow sitting crossed legged on the floor, surrounded by candles, eyes closed, chanting.
“What are you doing!?” Kennedy asked, shocked.
“Kenn! You know better then to sneak up on me when I’m doing a spell.”
“And you know better then to do a spell the night after one of your episodes!” Kennedy shot back.
Kennedy could see the emotions flash across Willows face: hurt, anger, acceptance, or was it defeat? “I know,” she said sadly. “It didn’t work anyway. It never works!” she added, frustrated.
“What never works?”
“Looking for Xander. I tried to do another locator spell but it didn’t work. It never works! I don’t know why I can’t find him.” Willow blew out the candles and stood up, frustrated by her lack of power. She never had power left after a night of nightmares and forgetting.
“Why did you try to do this now. Honey, you have looked so many times before, what made you think it would work now?”
“I know,” she answered. “But I was thinking about him and I miss him. I wish I knew where he was!”
“I know you do baby, but now is not the time to be looking. You need to rest at least three days after an episode before you can cast again. Remember, Giles told you. The attacks drain so much of your magick that you have to wait. Be patient. We’ll find him. I promise.” Kennedy moved to Willow’s side, putting her arms around the red head.
“Hey, are you wearing anything under that towel?” Willow asked with a little smirk, slipping her hands under Kennedy’s loose towel.
“One track mind much?” Kennedy said, kissing Willow.
“Only when it comes to you,” Willow said, kissing her with a desperate need.
Kennedy and Willow continued kissing as Kennedy’s towel fell to the floor. Passionately, Willow pushed her onto the bed and Kennedy forgot about everything else but her love.
