Late Morning.
Kate’s apartment:
Groo is teaching Kevin how to sward fight in the lounge and Kate is getting ready to go out.
Kevin: How was the sofa last night ?
Groo: I have slept in worse believe me.
Kevin swings diagonally twice in the air with his sward.
Groo: Balance yourself but at the same time use your agility.
Kevin: Yes Obi One
Groo: I do not understand.
Kevin: Forget it.
Kevin turns round bringing his sward down on Groo’s blade and they slowly battle it out.
Kate comes out of her room in a short dark green dress:
Kate: Groo, when I said teach my brother to fight, that didn’t mean kill each other.
Kevin: We are training.
Kate: Look like about to get hurt.
They both stop. Kate picks up her hand bag.
Groo: Are you going out ?
Kate: Yes, my boss said I have the day off today so I’m going out with a couple of friends from work.
Kevin: I would drive you but my car is in MOT and wont be ready to drive till tomorrow.
Groo: I could walk you.
Kate: You guys, can I go out for a day without you to helping me with something, even though it’s very sweet, I can get to town fine. Now Bye!
Groo: Bye
Kevin: Have a good day.
Kate: I will
She walks out.

Act 1 .
Kate comes to the bus stop and waits for one of her friends to meet her, she only has to wait a few minuets till her friend starts walking towards her:
Kate: Hay Emma how are you ?
Emma: Hay Kate I’m fine, sorry I’m a bit late, I had to drop Oliver off at his dads.
Kate: Well the bus isn’t here yet so I want complain.
Emma: Where our we meeting Rachel again ?
Kate: Outside the Coffee Hut, she said she’ll be there early because she’s had to do some shopping for her mothers birthday.
Emma: Oh right.
Kate: Oh here we go.
The bus comes along the road and pulls over to let them on.
Back at the apartment Groo and Kevin are still training, Groo has put up a target and Kevin is holding a crossbow and aiming at the target board.
Kevin: This is a hard thing to use.
Groo: You just need practise.
Kevin: How much, because I could be here along time trying to work this.
Kevin fires and the arrow hit the target right in the centre.
Groo is speechless.
Kevin: How the hell did I just do that.
Groo: I think its called beginners luck, but good job!
Kevin: It was a rather good shot wasn’t it.
Groo nods his head.
So what do you want to get into ?
Kevin: Well I’ve always wanted to be a mechanic, but the…..
Groo: No….I meant with fighting demons and the forces of darkness.
Kevin: Oh……Haven’t really thought about it to be honest, though now you mention it would be cool to do something in magic. The way Kate was telling me about magic the other night it sounds thrilling.
Groo: I could help you with that my good friend.
Kevin: You know magic ?
Groo: No, but I can take you to someone I have met while living in Sacramento.
Kevin: Who’s that ?
Groo: Gem
Kevin: Gem, and she will help me ?
Groo: Yes, she and tutored loads of great witches and wizards, most of them are dead now but she also teaches control.
Kevin: When can we go ?
Groo: We could leave now.
Kevin: Lets go then!
They both grab there coats and leave the apartment.

Act 2
Kate is sitting near the back of the bus with Emma next to her:
Emma: I hate bus journeys, makes me feel a bit sick sometimes.
Kate: Oh are you ok because we could get off if you want.
Emma: no we’re nearly there now, I always had travel sickness since I was a child, its been horrible lately though.
Kate: Have you been to the doctor ?
Emma: No, I might do tomorrow, I’ll just enjoy our day out.
Kate: good plan.
The bus pulls over at the bus stop and a man gets on, Kate watches as he gets on, he seems fine at first but when he gets to the driver he pulls out a gun:
Man: Start Driving….NOW!
Kate looks at Emma:
Kate: looks like we’re back at work.
Meanwhile Groo and Kevin walk into a brightly lit up club, lots of people are dancing and drinking:
Kevin: This is where we’ll find Gem ?
Groo: Not in here, back there.
He points to a door at the back of the club.
They walk across the dance floor and Groo knocks at the door:
Woman’s voice: Come in!
They both walk in and sitting in a sofa-like-chair is a woman with blond hair, bright green eyes and a long silver dress:
Woman/Gem: Groo my Angel what are you doing here, and with this gorgeous looking stranger ?
Groo: Hello Gem, this is my friend Kevin, he wishes to learn the art of witchcraft and wizardry.
Gem: Oh he does, does he.
Kevin: I want to help people, I want to be strong.
Gem: We all want to be strong dear, now what area’s of magic would you like to enhance in your self ?
Kevin doesn’t speak, he doesn’t know what to say, Groo looks at him and then looks back at Gem.
Groo: Well we were hoping you could tell us, he is new to all otherworldly stuff and doesn’t no anything about it.
Kevin: Hay, I know lots of stuff……………………..ok I don’t but you don’t have to spread it around.
Gem: Oh my Angel, it does not matter, we could just start with a few basics and you’ll catch on.
Groo: Soon you’ll be a powerful ally.
Kevin: Ok stop with the Star Wars crap.
Gem: Yes and what do you mean soon, magic isn’t handed to you, its develops over a long time.
Kevin: How long ?
Gem: longest I’ve seen is 52 years.
Kevin: 50
Groo: 2
Gem: years yes, why is this a shock.
Kevin: No its not a shock just, well I better start now.
Gem: Of course, once a week you will come to me and I will train you.
Kevin: Once a week that’s it.
Gem: That is all that is required.
Groo: Ok well I’ll let you to start and I’ll go home, so bye.
Gem: Don’t worry your friend is in safe hands.
Kevin: See you back at Kate’s.
Groo nodes and walks out.

Act 3
Back on the bus Kate and Emma don’t know what to do about the man:
Emma: I have my gun in my bag.
Kate: Oh good job, I forgot to bring mine and my badge.
The bus is still heading into town, the man realises this and starts yelling at the driver:
Man: Turn the bus around.
Driver: I can’t
Man: Do it
The driver turns the steering wheel and the bus turns around just missing two cars:
Man: Good, now drive to Lake Hamilton.
There are only seven people on the bus, Kate, Emma, The man, The driver, a young man at the back of the bus and a old couple near the front.
Emma: I’ll go talk to him.
Kate: he has a gun.
Emma: so do I.
Kate: Just talk to him, calmly.
Emma stands up and walks over to the man.
Man: sit down lady.
Emma: I just wont to help.
Man: I don’t need your help.
Emma: What are you doing?
Man: we’re all going to take a trip to the lake, and I’m going to make the driver here, drive us into it.
Emma: Why?
Man: It was my wife’s favourite spot!
Emma: So your doing this to prove you love somebody.
Man: Yes, she died last year, we were in the lake and she drowned, I could of saved her but I didn’t and I saw her just sink, sink to death.
Emma: I know that must be horrible, but you don’t have to do this.
Man: I do, I have to join her.
Emma: and take all these people with you.
Man: If that what it takes.
Emma: I want let you.
Man: you can’t stop me.
Emma razes her gun.
Emma: are you sure about that ?
The bus shudders and Emma is thrown off balance and the man razes his gun and fires. A bullet shoots through the air and hits into Emma’s shoulder. She falls to the ground. Kate get up and kneels down next to her.
Kate: Ok, your going to be ok, just try and sit up.
Emma: I can’t
Kate: you can.
Kate lifts her up slightly and she lay against one of the seats.
The young man at the back is looking terrified and the old couple are holding each other.
Man: no one razes a gun at me.
He turns back to the driver.
Man: The lake is over there, drive into it.
The man points with his gun.
Driver: No, I wont.
The man aims the gun at the drivers head.
Man: do it.
The bus turns towards the lake.
Kate: we need to get the people off this bus.
Emma: you got a plan.
Kate: no, but I’ll think of something.
Man: right lets start ending the lives of everyone now so you wont have a slow death like me.
He walks over to the old couple and aims his gun. They just hold each other, the old woman begins to cry.
Man: I’m sorry.
He’s about to fire until Kate grabs Emma’s gun and shoots him in the leg, he falls to the ground, still alive but unable to walk. Kate runs over to the driver.
Kate: Turn the bus around quick.
The driver grabs the wheel but can’t move it, less 60 meters until the bus goes into the lake.
Driver: It’s jammed.
Kate: Ok we need everyone off this bus.
The driver goes over to the young man at the back of the bus and grabs his arm and pulls him towards the door. The driver opens the bus door and him and the young man jump out.
Kate looks at the old couple.
Kate: Ok you next.
They both slowly walk over to the door and they both just for there lives, the old man breaks the landing for the old woman.
Kate walks over to Emma and lifts her up.
Man: At least I’m dieing for someone I love.
Kate: She wouldn’t wont you to do this.
Man: This is about me.
Kate: That’s where your wrong.
Her and Emma jump out.
They stand up with the other people around them, Kate helps Emma up, they all watch the bus go into the lake.
Emma falls to the floor.
Kate: I’m going to call an ambulance.
Emma: Good plan, one of the first days off in a while and we working, do you think we’ll get paid for this?
Kate just smiles.

Epilogue (Conclusion)
Police and Ambulance men start arriving at the seen, the desk sergeant (DS) walks over to Kate. Kate watches Emma loaded onto the Ambulance and drive away.
DS: Kate I know this is hard for, but Emma is going to be fine.
Kate turns around to face him.
Kate: I know, I know everything is going to be ok.
DS: It’s not.
Kate looks up at him.
Kate: What.
DS: This is the second man you have killed Kate.
Kate: Oh no, don’t start this, not again Dugg.
DS: I know you didn’t kill him but you let him die.
Kate: He held a gun to an old woman, shot Emma in the shoulder, and was going to drive us all into Lake Hamilton.
DS: You know we only kill if one of our own dies.
Kate: What kind of policy is that Dugg.
DS: Kate look…
Kate: No you look, I have said this to people before, you have know idea what is going on in this world.
DS: Is this the part where you start talking about monsters.
Kate: And they said something like that.
DS: Kate come into the station tomorrow and give me your Badge and Gun.
Kate: What!
DS: Your off the force Kate.
She stares at him.
Kate: You know what Dugg, I don’t care, I just know that I can save a lot more people in the next month, then you and you squad could do in a year.
Dugg just looks at her as she turns around and walks off.

Kate walks into her apartment and Groo is there:
Groo: What’s wrong, you look low.
Kate: I quit
Groo: Quit what ?
Kate: helping no one.
Kevin walks in.
Kevin: I know, we can really help people, so that what we’re going to do.
Kate: I think your right!
They all smile.
