"What about the spell?" Buffy asked.
"The spell requires that the person be standing in front of the Hellmouth, It would require us to open a portal into the Hellmouth."
"that's bad right?" Oz asked.
"It would require a great amount of concentration on the practitioner." Giles said, looking at the spell. Just then Alice entered the library.
"Mrs. Johnson!" Willow said. Everyone turned around and looked at Alice.
"Hello Willow, Buffy "Alice said.
"Thank you for rescuing me." Alice said to Buffy and Willow.
"No prob., I do it all the time." Buffy said.
"Yes, um Mrs. Johnson. What can you tell us about Freddy." Giles asked.
"please call me Alice, all of you just call me Alice. Freddy Kreuger is a name I've tried to forget. He's evil through and through. Believe me its going to take more than brute strength to stop him. Freddy Kreuger sought revenge on the people who burned him alive, so he took their children. When he was finished with them he needed a new way to get to the kids. A friend of mine, Kristen had a talent to pull people into her dreams. Right before Freddy killed her she pulled me into her dream and gave me her ability. After that he killed my friends. I stopped him twice but he's somehow managed to come back. He want's to use something called the Hellmouth to insure that he can kill forever." Alice stated. Everyone around her were silent.
"Giles could Freddy do it?" Willow asked.
"In theory he could but it would take an enormous amount of energy to be able to create a portal from his side." Giles replied.
"The souls of his victims, he gains strength everytime he kills someone." Alice said.
"Well we need to act right away, Stop him before he gets more powerful." Giles said.
"What can we do to help?" Willow asked.
"umm Willow help me gather the necessary equipment for the spell, Buffy I need you to gather the weapons."Giles said " What can we do to help." Cordelia asked.
"Um clear that table and move it against the wall we'll need room to open the hellmouth." Giles said.we should be ready in about thirty minuets.
"This is it Mind over matter" Alice said as helped clear the table.
When the room was ready Giles set down a crystal triangle.
"what's that thing" Cordelia asked.
"it's called a focal crystal. Willow and I will direct our thoughts and energy into the crystal focusing it, so we can open the Hellmouth." Giles said.
"Oh" Cordelia said.
"Now let's get started, Buffy are you ready?" Giles asked.
"ready as I'll ever be.
"Buffy answered.
"here everyone take one of these." Xander said passing out a weapon to everyone.
"Better to be safe than sorry" Xander said holding a long dagger.
"Yes well, Buffy remember you've got to hold on to him to pull him out as soon as you get a hold of him we'll wake you up." Giles said putting the spellbook on his desk.
"Be careful Buffy he's good at using your fears against you," Alice said.
"alright Giles put me under." Buffy said as she lay down on the cot.
"alright here we go, Buffy I want you to relax every part of your body, you're getting sleepy I'm going to count backwards from ten and when I reach one you will be back in the dream world ten, nine,eight,seven, six,five,four three, two, one" Giles said.
When Buffy opened her eyes she was back in the boiler room. "okay Buffy let's find him and get out." Buffy thought to herself as she walked around the Boiler room.
All of the sudden a door appeared it was just floating in mid air.
"Okay Buffy remain calm" she thought as she touched the door. The door flew open and Buffy stepped through it. She found herself in the old house again.
"Freddy where are you?" Buffy yelled. As the door slammed shut. Buffy started to walk up the stairs, when Freddy appeared at the top of the stairs.
"back for more?"He growled.
"I know what you're up to and it won't work Kreuger." Buffy yelled as she rann back downstairs. She looked back up and Freddy was holding Nancy.
"let her go!" Buffy yelled.
"your wish is my command. > Freddy cackled as he threw Nancy's body down the stairs. Buffy tried to go up the stairs again to help Nancy but a huge pit appeared at the foot of the stairs. Buffy jumped back and watched helplessly as Nancy's body fell into the hole. Buffy Ran through the bottom floor when she reached a door she threw it open, and ran down into the basement.
When she reached the basement she found she was back in the Boiler room.
"great Buffy real good, back where you started." She thought as she walked down a corridor, when Buff rounded the corner, she found she was in an old hospital. She ran down the Hallway trying to figure out exactly where she was all of the sudden the floor sloped suddenly and Buff found herself sliding. As she reached the end of the slide she crashed through a stained glass window and landed in an old church.
"Enough of the games Kreuger." Buffy shouted. All of the sudden the church doors flew open and angel was standing there. Buffy spun around and saw him there.
"angel" was all Buffy could say.
"Buffy I came back I was able to escape the vortex." Angel said. Buffy started to walk towards him and stopped.
"you're not angel." Buffy said.
"what are you talking about Buffy? It's me Angel." Angel said.
"now please come here let me hold you." Angel said, his arms outstretched.
"oh angel I've always loved you." Buffy said as she walked towards him. When she got close enough Buffy Kicked angel square in the chest sending him tumbling over some pews.
"you're not Angel!" Buffy said tears in her eyes. Angel stood up " oh buffy I always will love you." Angel said as he began to change. All of the sudden Angel had become Freddy.
"Anit love grand?" Freddy sneered.
"Goddamn you". Buffy said running towards him. As Buffy jumped to kick, Freddy Grabbed her leg and threw across the room.
"Buffy jumped up realizing this wouldn't be as easy as she thought.
"Come on Buffy, you can do better than that." Freddy sneered.
"Shut up!" Buffy yelled.
"How about we go dancing?" freddy said as the outside beyond the doors changed.
"No" Buffy shouted. It was the Bronze and it was full of kids completely unaware of what was happening.
"That's what you want isn't it? No worries no cares No Slaying?' Freddy said walking towards her. Buffy heard the clicking of Freddy's glove. Buffy spun around grabbed his arm and swung it behind her.
"Not tonight Freddy." Buffy said wrapping both arms around him.
"I've got a date." And with that she slammed her head into his.
Back in the library Buffy lay there her arms out like she was holding an invisible person." She's got him!" Willow yelled. Xander Jumped up his long Dagger ready on one side of Buffy while Oz had a butterfly knife on the other side at the ready. Cordelia was hiding behind the main desk peeking over. Alice had a baseball bat with long nails sticking out of it she stood by Giles as he proceeded to wake Buffy up.
"Willow the ampule please". Giles said voice had a tinge of uncertainty about it. Willow cracked the ampule and handed it to Giles "thank you, Willow, Now stand back I don't know what's going to happen". Giles said as he waved the ampule under Buffy's nose.
Back in the dreamworld Buffy and Freddy started to fade away. Freddy realized what was happening and screamed and sturggled but Buffy held fast. Freddy was literally spining around trying to shake Buffy but she would not let go.
"Nooooo!" freddy yelled as they finally faded out.
Buffy's arms Flew apart as she awoke. Xander swung his dagger, and Alice took a swing with her bat but nothing was there.
"where is he!" Cordelia yelled.
"I don't know I had him" Buffy yelled back.
"Maybe the trip killed him." Oz offered.
"that's a good possibility" Giles said. Just then there was what sounded like a sonic boom followed by the smell of ozone, Like right before an electrical storm.
"it's not over!" Alice yelled. Just then the library doors flew open the closed.
"Oh my god!" Willow gasped.
"we've let him loose in sunnydale." Giles stated.
"Where would he go?" Oz asked.
"um I don't know." Giles said.Buffy thought for a moment " The Bronze" Buffy said as she started to put the weapons in her duffel bag.
"Why would he go to the Bronze?" Oz asked. Buffy turned and looked at them all " He showed me the bronze while I was in the dream." Buffy said.
"now come on there isn't much time." She said as she ran out, followed by the others.
The Bronze was packed, there was a hot band playing. When all the lights and sound went out.
"Ladies and Gentleman" a raspy voice said.
"For one night only, The man of your dreams.. Freddy Kreuger." He continued. A single red light suddenly appeared on the stage as Freddy rose out of floor. When he was fully out of the floor, he took his hat off and Bowed. The band immediately ran off the stage. Just then a bouncer went up on stage "What do you think you're doing man." The Bouncer said.
"Getting my big break in show business." Freddy cackled as he broke the Bouncers neck letting him drop to the floor.Everyone started running for the doors, when they all slammed shut and locked.
"You're my captive audience now". Freddy Luaghed. As he jumped down from the stage and grabbed another person." Great to be back in Business full time." Freddy said. He raised his glove.
When they finally reached the Bronze they could hear the screaming inside.
"Oh God all those people." Cordelia said.
"No time for the discreet approach." Buffy said kicking the door open. People came running out screaming and crying. When they all had cleared out,Buffy, Xander, Cordleia, Willow, Oz, Alice and Giles ran in. Freddy was standing there ready to kill a girl " Leave her alone you sonofabitch!" Alice yelled as she ran in tackling krueger as the girl fell to the ground. Oz Ran over and helped the girl out of the Building when Oz and the girl was outside the doors slammed shut again.
"well if it isn't Alice, I'd thought you leave town." Kreuger cackled as he backhanded her sending her over the bar.
"Hey Pizza face are you Forgetting some one?" Buffy said as she took the crossbow and shot him through the leg. Freddy screamed in pain as he fell to the floor. Buffy ran up and Kicked him in the jaw, sending him sliding across the floor.
"Willow come on we've got to set up the spell." Giles said as they proceeded to draw the Pentagram on the floor.
"Cordelia find some place to hide, I've got to help them." Xander said.
"No complaints from me." Cordelia said as she ran for cover.
Buffy continued her assault on Freddy pummeling him with every kick, jab and punch she knew. Freddy stood up laughing the whole time. Freddy grabbed Buffy's arm and started to squeeze harder sending Buffy to her knees in pain.
"Let her go!" Xander yelled " Huh?" Freddy said, he then picked Buffy up by the arm and threw her on the stage. When he turned around Xander came up from behind with the baseball bat and swung, Freddy raised his gloved arm up to shield the blow. The bat hit the glove and sent it flying across the room. Freddy reeled back howling in pain.
Alice came out from behind the bar with a broken bottle she charged Freddy with it. As she swung the bottle cut into his cheek. Freddy screamed in pain. Alice dropped the bottle and watched Freddy writhe in pain on the floor. Suddenly Freddy jumped up " I deserve an Oscar don't you think?" Freddy cackled as he grabbed Alice and threw her into one of the windows. The metal grates on the window bent as she connected with glass blew out of the window and Alice crumbled on the floor unconious.
Xander stood there not knowing what to do. Buffy stood up dazed. Freddy stood in the center of the floor " Who's next come on!" Freddy growled as Buffy somersalted off the stage and stood in front of him.
"I am." Buffy said her voice full of hate.
Xander ran over to where Freddy's glove lay and Picked it up. Buffy and Freddy circled each other sizing up their opponent.
"you haven't got what it takes.
"Freddy said and started to laugh.
"Buffy here." Xander said as he threw Freddy's glove to her. Buffy caught the glove and swung at Freddy with it. The blades sliced through his sweater and a green pus oozed from the wound. Freddy staggered backwards.
"How's it feel Buffy said as she swung again, this time cutting into freddy's arm.
"Traqe Elmon set ja" Giles said.
"open Hellmouth I command you" Willow said.
"trad er sa mar klem sad gai." Giles commanded.
"Open Hellmouth receive the one they call, Fred Kreuger." Willow commanded.
Just then the crystal started to glow. Willow and Giles kept repeating the spell until the floor in the middle of the room opened up.Freddy spun around and saw the portal in the floor.
"Demons that travel the dreamworld I command thee to leave thy host." Giles said his voice booming. Freddy Howled in pain, and he threw is head back as one of the dream demons flew out of his mouth. Willow screamed. The demon was then grabbed by what looked like bands of electricity and pulled into the vortex.
'Demons that travel the dreamworld I command thee to leave thy host." Giles yelled. A bolt of white lighting shot out of the vortex and hit Freddy. A few moments later Freddy's head snapped back again and a second Dream demon shot out of his mouth. This one too grabbed by the lighting and pulled into the vortex. Freddy staggered and looked at Giles. He then started to stagger towards Giles and Willow.
"Demons that travel the dream world I command thee to leave thy host." Giles yelled. Above the howling wind.
An other bolt of white lighting shot out of the vortex sending Freddy to his knees. This time He grabbed his sweater as it bulged outward. Freddy let out a howl of pain as the final Dream demon burst through his chest. This one also grabbed by the lighting and pulled down the swirling vortex.
Freddy lay on the floor shaking. Buff walked up to him and he grabbed her. When she looked at his face it wasn't burned anymore but smooth and he had hair.
"If I die, you'll die first!" Freddy growled only his voice wasn't raspy anymore. Buffy dropped the glove and Freddy grabbed it pushing Buffy away in the process. When he put the glove on he walked over towards Buffy slashing at her Buffy raise her leg but it was cuaght by the Glove Blood streamed from the wound as Buff fell to the floor.
"Now you die!" Freddy yelled. Xander ran up from behind but Freddy hit Xander with an uppercut sending him sliding across the floor.
"Giles finish the Spell." Willow exclaimed . " I can't Buffy will be pulled down as well she's to close to the vortex. Giles shouted.
Cordelia was watching everything from under the stairs when she noticed a gas grill tank with the hose attached.
"oh what the heck." She said as she grabbed the tank and turned on the gas. Cordelia then grabbed a pack of matches off the nearest table and lit the hose, a blue flame shout out of the hose.
"Hey Freddy eat this you sicko!" Cordelia screamed as she ran towards him with her home made flame thrower. As the flames hit Freddy he reeled in pain.
"Cordelia pull Buff away from the vortex!" Giles yelled. Just then Willow got up and ran over to Buff. She grabbed her arms and dragged her towards Giles.
"Hellmouth accept this unclean soul, yours to devour to savor forever!" Giles yelled.
The lighting shot out engulfing Freddy. As it started to drag him I down into the vortex he grabbed willow's leg. Willow fell to the floor Screaming, " Somebody help me!!"
Buff limped over to willow and grabbed her arms and started pulling " Cordelia Help me!" Buff yelled as Cordelia summed up the situation she took the propane tank and threw it into the vortex When it slammed into Freddy he let go of willow and was dragged down into the nothingness of the vortex. Freddy could be heard screaming as the Vortex closed.
When all was calm Giles looked around, Xander got to his feet and staggered Towards Giles, Buff was sitting on the floor as Cordelia Bandaged her leg, Willow stumbled over to Alice who lay Unconscious , Oz then Burst in " all right whats going on? Where's Freddy?" Freddy's gone." Buff said a smile came to her face.
"Somebody help me over here Alice is hurt!" Willow said as Oz ran over and helped her carry Alice over to where everyone seemed to be gathering.
"I think we should get her to the hospital." Giles said as he picked Alice up and carried her outside. Buff, Willow, Oz, Xander, And cordelia all followed as police ran into the building.
At the hospital Buff needed several stitches in her leg, and Alice Had a concussion.
"aren't we a sorry sight?" Buff said limping down the hall.
"yeah But at least freddy's gone". Cordelia said.
"yes that's the good thing." Giles said.
The next Morning they all went to the Bus stop to see Alice off.
"are you sure you won't consider staying here?" Giles asked.
"I have but I'll have to talk it over with my son Jacob." Alice said
"um you do know castlerock Maine sits atop a Hellmouth as well Don't you?" Giles said.
"I do now" Alice said as she kissed Giles on the Cheek.
"Bye everybody thank you for everything." Alice said as she got on the bus. Everyone said good bye and waved until the bus drove out of sight.
"well I guess I have some patching up to do at my Moms" Buff said.
"if you need anything call me Buff", Willow said as Buff walked off.
"I'm going home and getting some sleep." Cordelia said as she grabbed xanders hand.
"Oz wanna come over a watch TV?" Willow asked.
"Sure" Oz said as they held hands.
As they all walked off they passed a playground and none of them noticed the kids in the park, dressed all in white jumping rope and playing catch. And they all were singing a nursery rhyme:
"One, Two Freddy's coming for you,
Three, Four better lock your door,
Five six Grab you crucifix,
Seven, Eight better stay up late,
Nine , ten, never sleep again".
( Please Note that I didn't tie up the loose end concerning Buffy's Expulsion or her mother I'll leave that to the show. )
