Buffy and Angel walked arm in arm out of the Bronze. Following right behind them were Willow and Oz. All of a sudden they heard a scream from an alley nearby and they ran in the direction of the sound.
As soon as they arrived on the scene it was too late. There stood a vampire with blood on his lips and his victim slumped to the ground next to him. He looked up at Buffy and the others and smiled.
Vampire: (shouting) Now!
Buffy: What?!
Then out of nowhere jumped about 30 of the bloodsucking fiends. They charged Buffy and the others. Buffy was holding nine of them off, she would surely lose. There were just too many of them. It was just a matter of time.
Angel held off seven vampires and was slowly being overpowered. Meanwhile, Oz and Willow teamed up against the remaining 14. They were losing quickly and would be taken out of the picture in a matter of minutes.
Angel: (struggling to look in Buffy's direction) Buffy! There are too many of them!
Buffy: (struggling to look in Angel's direction) I know!
Willow: (talking to no one in particular) This is bad. This is real bad.
Oz: (also talking to no one in particular) What she said.
They had managed to eliminate three of the 30 vampires, leaving 27 of them. Something had to happen and soon.
