Buffy and the gang do not belong to me. I make no money from this.

Part Eleven

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buffy and Angel stood together as they always would. They stared down the thing that had tried to tear them apart. It held at bay. A loud screeching echoed through the library. The thing fell in a pool on the floor. Angel grasped Buffy's hand. The thing spread out on the ground.

Giles stared at the thing as it pooled on the library floor. It finally took a shape. It looked like watered down tar. It spread out until it became very thin. They stepped back as it threatened to reach their feet. A horrible screech and scream filled the library.

Both of the library's went pitch black. Then a flash of intense light filled the rooms. Angel held onto Buffy's hand tighter. Giles staggered slightly. Willow grasped onto his arm. Xander made a slight yelp. The light died away as their plane of existance disipeared.

Buffy opened her eyes and found she was staring at the floor. She moved her hand wondering why it was no longer held by Angel's. She carefully picked herself off the floor. She looked around and found she was back in their library. A couple of feet away she saw Angel picking himself up. She caught his eye. An amazing amount of relief, joy, and love filled their eyes. He came over to her and she fell into his arms.

They heard noises from behind them. Giles, Willow, and Xander stood there unharmed. Buffy smiled.

"Is it over?" Xander asked.

Giles nodded mentally inspecting everyone. "Yes. It seems so." He concluded.

Buffy sighed and went back into Angel's waiting arms. "Too bad your shirt is fine." She muttered against his neak. Angel laughed. The others looked their way puzzeled. They both ignored them.

After Giles was satisfied everyone was fine he went into his office. He left the others to recount what had happened. They remembered what had really happened. Angel stopped by the library to help Buffy on her rounds. Willow and Xander had stopped by to say hi. Giles was there messing around with his books. Then they had all collapsed. That was real, not the memories that were placed there in their minds. It all seemed far too real though.

"I can still remember finding Giles dead here." Willow said folding her arms in front of her.

Xander noded. "Then we went after the vampires that killed him. They ran and we followed them into that warehouse."

"And then we split up. And one by one got picked off." Buffy said.

"My neak was snapped." Xander told Willow.

"I was stabbed." Willow said shortly.

"Stake through the heart."

They all looked towards Buffy who looked uncomfortable on the spot.

"Buffet." She said with out a trace of a smile.

Luckily Giles came out of his office holding a very old book that looked as if it had been taped together. He was staring at it as he walked over to them. Buffy rolled her eyes as she realized he must have memorized the layout of the room. The three teenagers reminded themselved to rearrange the furniture in the morning.

"I found it." He told them.

"Is it a demon?" Xander asked. Giles shook his head.

"No. Its more of a." He paused. "By product. Its the embodiment of negative emotions. It takes form and a life of its own. It uses souls for energy." He paused for the ewws from the teenagers. "It puts a victim in an unconscious state. Then it forms a reality in which it can deal with the person. The catch to this however, is that the person needs to hand over thier soul." He looked up.

"And we didn't buy inot it so it didn't get a free meal." Buffy said.

"Meals." Angel corrected her. She elbowed him.

"Well yes. That's the other thing. Usually they only take one person at a time. Its all they can handle. But this being the hellmouth and all. It was bigger, badder, and greedier." He closed the book. "But it could only do so much. It couldn't concentrate on all of us at one time."

"How did we kill it?" Wollow asked.

"Possitive emotions. We were ready to die for one another. It cancelled out the entity." He told her.

"Its over though? There aren't any more of those things running around?" Angel asked.

"No there are only one of them per manifestation."

There was a big sigh of relief from everyone.

Buffy broke the scilence. "Let's go."

Everyone followed her out. Giles stayed behind to finish cataloging the books.

Angel turned to Willow. "Buffy and I will walk you home." Willow smiled. Angel turned to Buffy. "Then I'll walk you home." Buffy smiled.

Giles stood in the library alone. The others voices echoed down the hallway. He glanced towards his office. His mind made up he walked into the hallway. "Wait up." He shouted at the four.
