Buffy and the gang do not belong to me. This story does however. I make no money from this. Don't sue! I have no money anyway.

Part Eight
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giles was cleaning his glasses again. Being dead was making him very nervous. Xander looked over to Willow then put his hand on the door knob. He slowly turned the knob and opened it. The door swung open Willow and Xander jumped back.
At that moment Angel suddenly stood up. He turned to Buffy.
"Go with Giles and the others." He told her.
Buffy looked at him in disbelief at the outburst. She opened her mouth to say something.
Angel stopped her. "I don't want you here." He told her harshly. A confused hurt look flashed in her eyes. "I don't want you to hear the things I did." He explained.
Buffy stood up angry. "That's what this is all about? Listen I'm not leaving you here by yourself. Its not safe." She yelled.
"I'll be all right." He yelled just as loud. "Go!" He bellowed. Buffy walked up to him.
"I'm not leaving you." She said slowly. The old man stood up and came in between the twl trying to get back to business. They ignored him.
Xander and Willow gaped at the open door. Giles walked up to them about to chastise them. Then stared at the sight also. Willow walked through first. Xander tried to grab her but she shook him off. Giles followed and reluctant to leave them alone he followed also. He walked through the thrush hold into the library. Not the library they had been wandering around in but the school library.
The three walked around in disbelief. They stopped as they saw themselves there. Willow was slumped over a table. Giles sat at his desk with his head rolled back. Xander lay up against the wall. Buffy and Angel laid in crumpled heaps on the floor.
"Are these our bodies?" Xander asked.
"How could they be? Giles was the only one that died here, and he was bludgened to death." Willow looked at Giles' body. "And he looked like he's sleeping. We all look like we're sleeping."
Giles reached out a hand to touch Willow who was lying across the table. His hand went right through her. Tentatively he tried to touch the desk with the same results.
"What's going on?" Xander asked Giles.
Before Giles could answer a loud ringing sound pierced the air. They all grimaced. Giles with some difficulty looked up. He saw part of the shadows in the stacks move. It wasn't unified, like an outline of a person. Or an outline of any sort. It just moved. It shifted like water or smoke. Giles most certainly knew it was no trick of the light.
"I'm not sure what's going on but I have a feeling that has something to do with it." He said over the din.
