Buffy and the gang do not belong to me. I make no money from this.

"What?" Merric asked shocked.
Buffy stood her ground. "I am not going unless all of them come too."
"But they will come. Just not right now. The books." The old man gestured.
Buffy shrugged. "Then I'll wait."
Merric looked at her hard. "You have to go now." He told her. Merric touched her hand. Buffy shook her head.
"This is highly inappropriate." The old man said to himself. Buffy showed no sign in moving and Angel looked as if any one would try than they would have to write chapters in his book. Merric was just staring at Buffy. Finally he gave up.
"When the time comes you will make up your mind. You will have to go." He warned her walking away.
He walked into the shadows and disappeared. Buffy stared after him with an unreadable look on her face. It suddenly cleared and she put on a small smile obviously content she had won. The old man scowled and went back to his desk. He busied himself with sorting out some papers. She turned her attention to the others.
"So what's new with everyone?" Xander asked nonchalant. He received a few scowls.
"We're dead." Willow shot in.
"Yeah, it bites. Dying this time was a whole lot worse than last time." Buffy said.
"And much more permanent." Xander chirped.
Giles looked between the three exchanging quips. He polished his glasses slowly. When he looked up the three of them were quiet again and waiting for him patently.
"This very well be the real thing. However, I think it would be prudent for us to stick together. It seems we do have at lest some say in things so far. Everyone be careful." He warned.
There were looks exchanged between the four. Duh, was a major theme. A cough sounded behind them.
"Angelus. It's your turn now. If you'll please take a seat. And for the rest of you, wait out in the lobby." He told them pointing out their way.
Buffy looked to Giles as he left with Willow and Xander. She followed Angel to his seat. She sat down on the arm of the chair. Angel looked worried. Buffy rested a hand on his knee. He tried to smile but it didn't come out very well. The old man turned to see her still there.
"I suppose you want to stay here?" He asked already knowing the answer.
Buffy nodded as he settled into his own seat.
They sat in the lobby which was in fact easy to find. It was rather large, like everything else in this place. It was about the size of the school's gym. Everything in the room was white, to the carpet to the walls. Even the furniture. Which held only one over sized couch and two chairs matching the one in the library. Giles sat in one of the chairs while Willow sat in the middle of the couch. She swung her feet back and forth. Xander was walking around the room examining every inch. There were about a dozen doors lining the walls. One of them had led them from the library to here. Xander wasn't sure where the rest of them led to. He put a hand on one of the door knobs.
"Don't open the door." Giles warned Xander.
Xander took his hand away form it very quickly and turned to Giles.
"Aren't you even a little curious?" He asked Giles. Giles shook his head no.
Xander looked back towards the door. Willow stood up and walked up besides him.
The old man picked up his sheet of paper and looked at it. "All right." He started.
Neither of them were paying any attention. Buffy had taken out her keys and was tossing them from hand to hand. It made a harsh echoing sound in the quiet place. Angel stopped her and examined one of the key chains.
"Your name in Angelus" The old man started.
The keys fell on the floor with a clash jarring out the last of it. Buffy got off the chair to pick them up. Angel followed her beating her to the chase. The old man kept reading. Angel had the keys in his hand and dropped them again. Another echo. Buffy laughed at him, Angel apologized. Buffy picked them up by herself this time. Angel muttered the apology again. She was tossing her keys again. He grabbed them in mid air and sat down. Buffy followed suit.
"And that's it." The old man finished putting the paper down.
Buffy gave Angel a curious side way glance. Angel didn't notice. He was innocently engrossed in her keys.
"Now let's go through your books, shall we?"
He snapped his fingers a few times. Buffy heard a sound in the darkness approaching them. Buffy tensed. Out of the shadows eight peaple appeared all covered in black robes. They were pushing carts pilled full of tomes. They stopped around the desk leaving the carts. They disappeared as more of them came out with even more books. They left and Bufy sat stunned.
The desk was lost in a sea of books. All around it stood piles of books taller than Angel was. The desk was full of them also. She couldn't even see the old man any longer. She heard him cough again. He pushed a stack of books off to the side. He peered at them through the small opening.
"Wow." Buffy said not knowing if anything else would fit.
Angel didn't say a word.
" You know usually when someone contrubes this many books to a library they have a wing named after them, or the libary itself." Buffy joked. Then she paused as her face fell. "Do I have to sit through all this?" She asked.
