"Buffy?" Angel whispered as Buffy's eyes began to flutter open. She was cradled in his arms on the hospital floor. "Buffy?"
"Angel? Where am I?" Buffy groaned, streching in Angel's arms and looking at him.
"Buffy, your mom...," Angel began. Buffy winced and squeezed her eyes tightly together.
"I remember now. God, what am I gonna do?" Buffy muttered, sitting up in Angel's lap. She buried her face in Angel's shoulder and bit her lip to keep from crying.
"I don't know. Let's get you home so you can think about everything," Angel said. He stood and scooped Buffy into his arms.
"Faith, where am I gonna go? I can't afford to stay in this house," Buffy sighed, running her hands through her tangled hair.
"Buffy, you know you can always move in with me and Brooke," Faith assured Buffy. Angel had dropped them off and gone home, leaving them with much needed quality time.
"I know. God, I am never gonna get to go to college," Buffy sobbed, burying her face in her hands.
"Buffy, you'll get there. you could get a full ride to almost anywhere," Faith pointed out.
"No, I can't. I've already aplied for financial aid and the most I've gotten is six semesters. I'll be going for at least eight. That's two semesters I have to pay for on my own," Buffy explained. The teapot whistled and Faith jumped up to pour the girls some tea.
"Talk to Angel," Faith suggested.
"What? No, I can't do that. We haven't been dating nearly long enough for me to ask that kind of thing," Buffy refused, shaking her head.
"I'm so sorry Buffy. Why don't you go over to Angel's and talk to him. Not about money, just spend some time with him," Faith suggested.
"Thanks, Faith. I'll see you later."
"Penny for your thoughts?" Angel asked, kissing Buffy's bare shoulder a few hours later. His parents were out at another benefit and they had the house all to themsleves.
"Nothing. Having lots of non-thoughts," Buffy sighed. She rolled onto her other side to face Angel and adjusted the covers.
"Liar."
"Maybe. I don't know. I'm worried about college, about where I'm going to live, about the fact that my mom is dead," Buffy said, hugging Angel tightly.
"Move in with me," Angel said abruptly.
"What?" Buffy asked, eyebrows raised.
"Buffy, my parents are never home. I can move out of my dorm and we can live here," Angel explained.
"Angel...your parents hate me, there's no way they'd go for it," Buffy laughed.
"Actually, my father loves you. He thinks you're really bright, which you are. My mom just doesn't do well with other women moving in on her son," Angel explained.
"Are you sure? I mean really? What if we break up?" Buffy babled.
"We won't break up. At least I won't. You have my heart forever, BUffy Summers," Angel murmered, breathing in her scent.
"Angel, I love you. Thank you for taking care of me," Buffy sighed. She kissed Angel slowly before drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
