| Ouch- Dawn and the tests is rough. Awesome revelation about Dawn and her appearance. The plot is definitely chugging along here. |

Another cool chapter. I always thought you could do more with Dawn than the show did. I like how you use getting fed on by a vamp as an analgoy for drugs. It's like season 6 with magic.
Author's Response: I enjoyed the bloodletting-for-pleasure theme introduced by Riley; it outlines a whole human/vampire underground relationship that isn't just killing and dusting. |

I loved Dawn asking Spike what a soul felt like. That's something no one ever really talked about on the show.
Author's Response: Thanks, man. I thought the entire concept of 'getting a soul' was underappreciated in the show and wanted to explore it a bit more. By the way, I love your work! |

| I like the edits. I never much liked Anya or tara either. No wonder I enjoy your stories so much. We hate all the same people- LOL. |

Wow.That was weird.I'm confused.Did Dawn pass out or did she die?I liked the chapter though.I agree with Willow, spiders are scary.
Author's Response: Oh, no: she was dead. Flatline, non responsive to stimuli, legaly dead. It just kicks off the dilemma for her, and yes, spiders are nasty. |

| Cool story so far. Dawn was annoying and underused on the show. You're taking her to deep places they never went on the show. |

Interetsing intermission. Anya was dead on. I wonder why Tara was acting so out of character? I'm pretty sure it' slinked to Dawn, but how I'm not sure.
Author's Response: No... not really linked to D. I simply have no frickin' clue how to write Tara. Then again, anyone could get out of character living with pining Anya for a week.
Author's Response: Yeah.. this scene was more for the sake of Anya than anything else, and maybe a little comic relief. Truthfully, I never really liked Tara.
Author's Response: There. I've edited the intermission with a few italics and some gin (the fix-all). It should make a little more sense now. |

More vamps with souls? That Shanshu prophecy is getting awfully crowded. I love that Dawn's going through withdrawal (despite the fact this means I have to deep six a planned story line for my Angel season 6). The situation is certainly a rough one for both Dawn and Charlie. Great cliffhanger!
Author's Response: Don't get excited about Charlie. I hope I didn't go overboard on the whithdrawl, considering Riley didn't seem to suffer much, but then again, he was on all sort of Initiative stuff. Didn't mean to ruin any S6 prospects. Thanks for the review! |

It’s fascinating that Angel (and I assume the PTB) are interested in Dawn finding her soul. Could she be, as Wolfram & Hart like to say, “a player.” I like the man in the white silk shirt. He helps make the story not only existential and metaphorical, but also mysterious. I could actually feel Dawn’s desperation during her struggle with the second oracle. And wow- what an ending!
Author's Response: Always, thanks for the great reviews! |

Spike doing his CSI routine was very cool! I’m surprised Xander would leave Spike and Buffy alone, but I suppose it made sense. I was right about Dawn’s other vamp stalker! The cancellation was a cool bit as well. I love Angel’s sympathy for Dawn’s plight. I’m again tempted to accuse you of brilliant subtext and double entendre. Angel is acting just as his name would suggest- watching over and aiding a girl on a spiritual quest. He, even more than Spike, treats Dawn like an adult in respecting her journey. The Xander lines were very, very Xander. I wish I had his voice down as well as you do. Great job as always.
Author's Response: Nudge-nudge, wink-wink, you got the "Angel" part? I'm glad someone did. I'm glad Xander's enjoyable, there's nothing like just watching an episode or two to get his voice in your head. Much appreciated. |

Another sexy seductive scene, but I’m glad Dawn could be strong. I’m pretty sure I know who Dawn’s other vampire stalker is, but the guy in the silk shirt is a mystery to me. I love the line “from where the whatever it was had done whatever it did.” It’s very Xanderish, even if he didn’t say it. I love Wethrin’s explanation of lesser oracles- that they’re basically glorified fortune tellers. The exorcism had an interesting result, leaving me to wonder what exactly is inside of Dawn.
Author's Response: Wethrin and the exorcism, as well as Wethrin's death are not much more than teasers, giving you a another very small piece of the puzzle. The questions you gleaned are bang on. Thanks for the review! |

This is a deep, rich story filled with metaphor that shows just how many opportunities the original series missed with Dawn. I love that she's possibly becoming a little bit of a fang junky. It really fits in a way. Her father abandoned her, her mother died, then her sister died. In real life, a person like this might go looking for answers about her life and wind up with some kind of addiction. In typical Buffy fashion, the story frames this dilemma in supernatural terms. The ending was great. It left me wondering what Dawn really is.
Author's Response: Thank you very, very much. I'm glad I didn't lose you with the ending. I know there were some inconsistencies in the details as some other readers noticed, but they were necessary. I'm ecstatic that the story flowed logically for you, and as always am very appreciative of your reviews. |
