Owe. I like that chapter a lot, got the suspense, the violence. I was listening to music while I read, that was great. Fast stuff going on, very effective. Great Chapter.
Author's Response: It's been a while since my last big action sequence, so I wanted to open with one. Let me know what you were listening to so I can recommend it to other readers :) |

| YAY! EVE IS DEAD!!! SQUEE!!! BULLETS THROUGH BOTH EYES!!!
*ahem*
Loved the chapter. I was so worried when Lorne was shot, but you've turned it into comedy with the vamps trying to figure out how to kill him. I'm glad you kept Faith level headed, although *I'd* like to smack Xander one... I love what you're doing with the Mayor, and I'm saying now, for the record, that Billy is evil.
Author's Response: Yes, Eve is dead. And with a bullet through each eye, I don't see her coming back. I tried to play the Lorne decapitation up for laughs. Does that make me sick? Poor Xander did make quite a few bad moves. I think he's out of practice. I'm glad you're liking the Mayor. As for Billy, what'd he ever do? |

Just watched an episode of Alias, and reading this chapter, it reminded me a lot of that series. Filled with action and plot twists, you kept me interested from start to finish, from Dawn's sequence to Richard's revelation. The whole maiming of Lorne thing, to me, was highly amusing, reminiscent of the good old Pylea days. Also glad to see that you've made Faith into a believable lead. many would never have developed her beyond her wicked cool catchphrases and five-by-five partying.
Author's Response: Thanks for the "Alias" comparison. There's actually an "Alias" shout out in season 1, episode 7. I'm glad I'm succeeding in my attempts to develop Faith beyond a stereotypical wild girl with a couple catch phrases. Hopefully I’ll have a few more fun things to remind you of the good ol’ Pylea days. |

Eve's dead!! YAY!! Heather will love you for that one. I expected a lot more anger from Faith towards Xander, but you cleverly made the point that she'd been deceiving everyone already, so she remains level headed about everything. I love how you wrote the Dawn/Graham scene. Dawn's seen enough death in her lifetime to react well enough, but this one is different in that she could've actually saved him and was just a little too late. Can't wait to see Connor trying to be comfort guy. The Mayor still bores me to tears, which is no fault of your own, I just never liked him as a villain on BtVS. The fact that he founded the Initiative is a bold move to make. If anything, it should thoroughly piss Spike off. Still anxiously awaiting Angel's reappearance.
Author's Response: Yep, Eve's dead. Kind of a crappy Yep, Eve's dead. Kind of a crappy way to do away with her, but I really felt her story had run its course. Wolfram & Hart is all but gone and she doesn't have those Mayor Wilkins connections. Speaking of the Mayor, sorry he bores you to tears. He will be around for quite a while, not only because I feel he's integral to Faith's story, but also because I LOVE the Mayor. He's easily my favorite Buffy villain. Faith's pissed, but feeling sufficiently guilty. Spike, Connor, and Dawn, however, have no such issues. The Graham/Dawn scene was fun for me. A reviewer of the last chapter mentioned she liked having Graham. By then, of course, I'd killed him. I thought maybe I should have Dawn save him. Then I decided that was a cop-out. And so, we have the scene of the near miss which, as you noted, opens up a lot more possibilities plot-wise. I hope Connor being comfort guy will be amusing. Spike already doesn't like the Mayor, even without his Initiative involvement. Thanks for the review. Hope you like what's to come. |

Mayor Wilkins founded the Initiative??? Interesting. Does make sense, in a way. They were evil (the head people, anyway), he was evil.... It all combines. It was very good... Neat wrap-up on the big battle thing last chapter--glad to see that you didn't go for the "everyone survived" angle.... Anyway, great chapter. Update again soon!
Author's Response: The Mayor: Yeah, I thought that would be a nice way to end the chapter. The Big Battle: the Markovics have been mostly out of the picture for quite a while. I felt I really needed to re-establish them as major players who pose a serious threat. Three dead and one kidnapped probably did that for me. I' surprised no one's mentioned something out of the scene between Vladimir, Anton, and Boris. |

You sly dog, you. Wilkins is full of surprises. Nice one there at the end. Have we figured out who the client is? I can't remember. Oh, so sad that you killed both Gretchen and Graham. Poor Dawn tried to save him. Guilt trip on the way for her. Connor saves the day, again. Lots of action and intrigue in this chapter. Hard to top? We'll see. I can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Ah, yes, the Mayor is just so full of surprises. A longer explanation is coming at the beginning of the next ep (tentatively titles “The Condors and the Bees”), so I don’t want to ruin it for you. But the way I see it, it kind of made sense. Both were evil, both were government, and both represented the concepts of evil as corruption and evil as order (as opposed to evil as chaos- Ethan Rayne, Spike, etc.). I haven’t said who the client is, but (for once) I’m not making this up as I go along. I do have someone in mind. So far, you only have a few clues. If you put it together, groovy. But I’m not telling ‘til I’m good and ready. Sorry about Graham and Gretchen. You see, I’m a crappy typist and hitting “g” and SHIFT is just a real pain for me. Just kidding. As you mentioned, there was a lot of action in this chapter, so there had to be some casualties, right? Also, I was trying to re-establish the Markovics as a serious threat. No better way to do that than to off a couple characters that, due to my poor writing, I just couldn’t seem to get into the story. And poor Dawn? What about poor Xander? This is his second dead love interest in three years. But don’t worry. I’ll make it up to him. Thanks again for reading and reviewing. I’m so glad you’re still interested! |

I can't believe this is all you have. lol. I just read like so much of your fics like just right now. PLz write more.
Author's Response: I'm working on the next chapter of my other story, Campus LIfe, at the moment., but I hope to have the next ep of RoF2 up before too long. If you like my stories, you can always check out "Campus Life." Thanks again for the review! |
