Great story. I like how Spike is all sort of parental, "I'm goanna kill him" attitude. And the Weetabix, that's always funny to hear and I wonder what's going to happen with the Graham/ Intiative stuff. I'm excited. Great story.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I try to walk a line between dram/romance and action/suspense. I'm glad this chapter seems to have done that. |

| Great chapter! Very exciting! I'm gonna disagree with MJ and say I LIKE D/C, but then I tend to like just about any relationship that makes sense, and this one does to me.
I spent a large portion of the chapter cursing Xander and Graham for screwing things up. I'm getting very caught up in the story *g*
Author's Response: It’s good to read you like D/C. I think they make sense too. Xander and Graham certainly messed things up. It’s good to know the story’s engrossing enough to get you cursing at the characters. :) |

A violent, but exciting chapter. Spike's protectiveness of Dawn is touching and convinving. Poor Faith also seems to be going through a lot right now. The Connor/Dawn scenes however are getting a little cringesome, perhaps mainly due to the fact the Dawn is presented as more knowledgable and experienced than Connor, who is not exactly stupid. Nevertheless, am still enjoying... :)
Author's Response: We've officially reached the violent and exciting portion of the season. I think it makes sense that Spike would want Dawn to forever be his little nibblet. Faith is going through a low, but it shouldn't last too long. She's not Buffy who likes to wallow in her misery. Also, circumstances will be calling for action, which is Faith's forte. Sadly, you'll have to get used to Dawn/Connor, stop reading, or start skipping D/C scenes. I don't see those two breaking up any time soon and, on occasion, I like to write soft core porn. Dawn isn't more knowledgeable or experienced, she just knows what she wants and is becoming more forward. In a way, it's part of her development. I do realize "Little Dawnie" talking dirty would upset some people, but by now she's about 19 or 20 years old. Also, Dawn isn't perfectly comfortable with her sexuality yet. She does still feel awkward. Connor isn't stupid, but he is somewhat naive and, more importantly, unfamiliar with the social conventions of dating and the sexual lingo. Before Dawn, Connor version 1.0 had sex probably twice (I think we were to infer Connor and Cordy had sex after the baby revelation at the end of "Salvage"). More importantly, he wasn't bombarded with sexual references, jokes, etc. during his youth. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I'm having a lot of fun writing it. |

OMG, you just killed a couple of characters. Bold move. Wilkins is actually trying to help. That's a first. I wonder how Faith is going to get out of that cage. Stupid Xander. Why couldn't he listen to Dawn. She was right. I wonder if he'll admit to it, if he doesn't get himself killed in the fight. Nice flowing chapter. I feel sorry for Spike. Faith's being mean to him. I hope they do kiss and make up.
Author's Response: Yep, characters are being purged. Wilkins is trying to help *Faith*. I'm not sure that's so new. How Faith gets out of the cage, whether Xander survives, whether or not Faith and SPike make up, and reactions to the collective mistakes of Faith's crew will all be revealed in the next exciting installment. Thanks for the review. I'm trying to keep it flowing. |

Now we're talking. Exposition's done, let's get to the action. Still not liking Dawn/Connor, but you wrote Spike PERFECTLY. Speaking as a guy who has a younger sister, I would've reacted in the exact same "I know, but I'm not acknowledging it" manner that Spike did. Writing from personal experience there? Also, so glad the Markovics showed up and I love their ruthless efficiency. Hopefully Gretchen is dead dead dead and not Jossverse "I'll resurrect her in a few episodes" dead. She was getting on my nerves. I'm hoping that this step up in the action means Dawn comes back to the forefront as leader and Watcher. Also, I find myself missing Angel (I love how you write Faith/Angel scenes) and hoping for an appearance soon. It seems that after a slow start, you're ready to kick this season into gear. Can't wait.
Author's Response: Thanks again for another too kind review. Exposition is done. For the moment anyway. The action will hopefully be pretty non-stop for a while. Sorry you don’t like D/C, but you should try to get used to them because they’re not going anywhere. Besides, if I broke them up, I’d have both of them both pair up with people that would REALLY offend you. Still, Connor is a part of Dawn’s growth and vice versa. They’re going to have an adult relationship, thus showing that they are actually adults. Kind of. Spike’s reaction . . . I don’t know where that came form, really. What I said about D/C also goes for the Markovics. You should be happy to know that they too are not going anywhere. Also rest assured that when I kill someone, the bastard stays dead. Usually. Gretchen will not be returning, which is actually sad news for some. Also, I seem to have good timing. No sooner do you start missing Angel then I bring him back. I plan on Angel being either the next episode or the one after that. Hopefully he’ll bring his Kevlar. |

Oh! Figures that Xander and ANYONE from the Initiative would want to get rid of the mayor. Great twist... I feel really sorry for everyone in the hotel about now.
Also, I haven't mentioned this, but it's GREAT that you brought Graham back. Much less annoying than Riley.
Author's Response: I thought Graham would make an interesting character. With his knowledge of and experience in supernatural affairs, he seemed a natural fit for the Watchers. But he has his own particular view of things. He'll be very hierarchical, having been a soldier. Also, he should come in handy for something else. Provided, of course, that he survives. |
