I love Giles thinking of Jenny. I'd totally forgotten that. Angel was terrifying as always, but I love resourceful Willow. Now we finally get to see the Spike/Angel fight.

Andrew & Dawn's argument was great. I think Willow nailed the problem the scoobies are having when she said "I never really paid attnetion to Angel." No one did. That's why he's so pissed and that's why he's been able to do so much damage without being caught. The Gunn/Angel scene was chilling and the Angel/Spike fight was great. Can't wait to read more.

I love evil Angel. He’s so wicked! The story really builds a strong justification for his anger. The story definitely sticks with its theme of building on the dark and twisted season 6 Spuffy. Spike’s reference to “Buffy being claimed” was definitely chilling. I also found it interesting that Spike is so quick to write off Angel. How does he know what influences Angel may and may not be under? After all, Spike not only fed off humans, but also sired new vampires, while he had a soul. Another great cliffhanger ending. I can’t wait to see this play out. This is such a deep, dark, and complex story. As usual, characters are trying to find black and white in a very gray world.

I love the evil demon dog (Cerebrus) for more reasons than I can say. Please keep it around to cause mucho havoc. Angel’s effulgence was hysterical! The fight scene (Faith’s) was AWESOME! It was very descriptive and the action unfolded beautifully. The cliffhanger was also great. I wonder if they’ll believe Andrew or think he was delusional.

Fred's return was sudden but bittersweet. We don't know long it'll be. Plus, she has to kiss Wesley. Ick. Angel will probably eat her soon anyway. Loved Angel's spell and can't wait for more horrific revenge and fly vomiting. Angel's right that he really has no incentive to be good. He's a very damaged and fallen hero who's given everything he has and therefore has nothing left. Not even the gratititude of the people and world he's saved time and again. The treatment Buffy's giving him is just too, too cruel. I wonder if, when this is all over, she'll feel any responsibility for Angel's downfall. I guess I'll know eventually. Great job!

Poor Faith- it's so true that a few harsh words can undo a million tiny steps. I felt bad when Willow told Giles she and kennedy were never right. I never got that feeling from them, but it's something Willow has to say if she wants to move forward with Giles. I liked the Faith/Xander moment. Just being held is something faith really needs. Claire's crush on Angel is interesting. Mkaes me wonder if he shouldn't start taking his revenge in a different direction.

Giles line that magic is the only thing he and Willow shared was an ouch moment. Their relationship is one that is just painful and with no joy for me. Things that are bad for Will and Giles make me sad for them. Things that are good for them don’t make me feel good, but rather I feel so sad for Kennedy. Whatever flaws she had, her devotion to Willow was unwavering and unquestionable. She deserved better than to be cast off so unceremoniously and so publicly. I wonder if Willow and Buffy will feel guilty for what happened to Kennedy. They’re ultimately the cause of it.
Buffy’s line about being turned on by a vamp kissing her neck was hysterical. Again, you do a great job building sympathy for Angel. Buffy and Spike are really throwing their relationship in his face. I know from personal experience that that’s horrendously painful. And still, Buffy completely ignored him and treats him like nothing. She doesn’t even take the time to talk to him about her feelings and who she wants to be with. She just makes out with Spike and lets Angel feel the pain. Also, in the dark light which you’re casting on the Spuffy relationship, I can’t even be sure Spike isn’t with Buffy for the same reason he wanted the cup in “Destiny.” He wants Buffy. But part of him wants to be with Buffy so he can take something from Angel. I love this story. Who else could make the villain seem so tragic and almost justified in his hatred? |

I love Faith’s reaction to the dry humping. Very Faith. I wasn’t quite sure why Wesley was so annoyed that Angel was trying to “tend” to his wound. I think Wes knowing what was going on inside Angel was giving the old boy a bit too much credit. But one of the things I love about your story is that many of the events that could be used to vilify a character are actually used to create sympathy for them. That’s a difficult thing to do and you’ve done it exceptionally well. You’ve really shown how Angel has been isolated and abandoned. Spike and Buffy publicly making out would have been horrendously painful for him. Just like when she first arrived, Buffy is essentially treating Angel like a non-entity. She’s so lost in her feelings for Spike she doesn’t care how harshly she jabs Angel in an open wound. Then, Angel is abandoned by the few friends he has left. I think it’s great how you show your heroes as selfish and your “villain” as such a sympathetic and abandoned loner. Brilliant!

Sexy bite. It’s about time we got some sexy biting action! The cold water line was great. I thought someone would see Spike feeding on her and freak out, thinking he was attacking her. I still got a Saint Spike vibe. Also, the idea that Buffy and Angel’s love was a complete lie seemed a bit extreme to me. I don’t really think the two of them are a possibility any more. A lot of the things you need besides love weren’t there for the two of them. But I find it hard to believe there wasn’t love or that their love was based on a lie. “Spike had been basically the same as he had been without one.” Yeesh- whjat a creepy line. I think you made a brave choice to make this a darkish romance. Basing a Spuffy love on Soul-Spike’s actions in season 7 could create a very nice sweet romance. But saying that this is still the same Spike who manipulated her, separated her form her friends, and tried to dominate her (both emotionally and physically, as in the attempted rape in the bathroom), creates a very jaded and creepy story that really isn’t anyone’s fairy tale ending. I love it!

The Dawn/ Xander banter was great and I love Xander’s crush on Faith. I’m wondering what’s going on with Willow/ Giles. I definitely like W/G, but I feel bad for Kennedy. She’s nobody’s sweetheart, but nobody deserves to get publicly cheated on and possibly dumped. I’m very worried about Andrew. The Spuffy reunion was happy and the bite was a great way to end it. The only thing that has me slightly bothered is Angel. I’m wondering if drinking form Marcus doped him with evil (the same way Willow draining Giles magic in season 6 doped her with good). I’m not a huge fan of Angel. In fact, I think he’s an ass when it comes to his personal life. But for someone who’s done so much and struggled so hard, it’s heartbreaking to see his saga ending this way. Then again, Joss never shied away form the heartbreaking, so I guess you shouldn’t either. It’s another complex and interesting chapter. Keep up the good work!

And now we have the end of the battle. Dawn color-coding underwear- bwa haaa haaa! Andrew’s internal monologue is hysterical- Ewok village and tipping over the laundry basket. I hope the poor guy is okay. I like Willow and Giles spell. There was kind of a sexy undertone there.

Awesome action sequences. The explanation of how burning flesh was a different kind of gross was really funny. Angel’s change and the reason for it were awesome and made a lot of sense. Once again, you still do Andrew better than anyone I’ve seen so far. I also liked Andrew faux pax with the radio. I have a feeling it will actually help him out with Buffy.

And now, we dance. After 13 chapters of exquisite build up, we finally get the big battle. However, this chapter doesn’t lose any of the emotional intensity of the prior chapters. The burgeoning G/W romance is very interesting. General Xander is awesome. The slayer army clashing with the demon horde was exhilarating, especially with the panicked dragon in the mix. Your writing made the desperation of the slayers palpable. And the ending had me so on edge.
