Great dinner scene. It must've been horrible, and to some extent humiliating, to have a family dinner punctuate the darkest and most humiliating period of her life. Then as an exclamation point, she had that twist at the end. Poor Hank will have a hard time understanding Buffy's relationship with Spike once he comes out of Denial-land and realizes his hunch was right. Great Stuff!
Author's Response: Heh, I loved writig the dinner scene, which I definitely had to tone down a wee bit, since my Riley-loathing came through. I'm glad you thought it worked well! |

This is a really great story. It's actually a bit more reasonable than the real thing, where Hank NEVER returned to Sunnydale---then again, "Buffy" rarely used a lot of reason. The characters are all done really well, and I like the addition of Hank--especially the way that you haven't painted him as a complete failure as a father. He isn't the best, but this "redeems" him a little. Please, update soon!
Author's Response: Thanks! I've read stories wiht Hank before and they're either totally fogiving or they completely thrash him. I'm glad my middle road is enjoyable :) More coming soon. I'm almost ready to send chaper 11 to my beta :) |
