Spike and Faith. I can see that, one that gets the itch, and one that's willing to scratch, vica verca [however that's spelled.] I enjoyed that Faith is going against B. Great move, my opinion. I loved this Chapter.
Author's Response: I think Spike and Faith would go together well. And Faith is kind of coming into her own as a leader, etc. |

Wow Buffy is a harda** in this chapter. I know that she can be cold but she is going no holds barred on Connor. Spaith is of the good. I like them together. I loved the stand off between Buffy and Faith. Great work illuminating Faith's need to compare herself to Buffy and making her feel, for once, that she measured up.
Author's Response: Yep, Buffy is a hard ass. I'm definitely planning to toy around with Spaith some more. But I want to get you guys to beg first. For the longest time, i've been wondering where I could take faith that she hasn't already been. I think making her finally feel she's every bit the slayer Buffy is might be the way to go. |

I absolutely love what you've done with the Spike/Faith relationship. It's real, it's sexy, it's great. I hope you continue to develop it. I like it that Faith is breaking with Buffy. So is Dawn? Such a twist. They all think that Buffy is loony to want to kill Connor on the spot. I'm glad that Faith stood up to her.
Author's Response: Should I do a season 2, Spike/Faith will be angsty until they remember who they are. As the chapter title says, this is about growing up. Faith grows up a little. Dawn grows up a lot.

Thanks for finishing what you started in the previous chapter…you know what I’m talking about….Faith/Spike. This episode also dealt a great deal with Connor, but that is ok by me, I’m very interested in seeing where it is going. I feel it is leading up to Connor’s destiny to become a Champion. And as Lorne says, this can not be accomplished the easy way out as Angel had taken previously by removing the bad memories and replacing them with new ones. However I do believe it was the only option Angel had once it had gotten to that point. Now I can see him going into the other direction, using this second chance to be a father to his son. To do the things he needs to do to help him become what he is destined to become. Whereas Angel’s Champion identity comes from his need for redemption, Connor’s will have to come from something else. I’d like to see what this something else is, I have my own theory, but I can’t wait to see where you take it. “Lotta people for one car” for some reason had me laughing out-loud.
Author's Response: A few people were outright offended by Faith & Spike, so I appreciate the number of folks who’ve mentioned they liked the coupling. I’m also glad that Connor’s story is compelling enough to distract people from the relative absence of Faith. Hope you enjoy the last two chapters. |

This chapter was way cool. As with most of your chapters, I love the title since it seems to reference so many people. In this case, at least, Faith and Dawn grow past the roles that they held on the show. Very nice. As another review stated, I’ve moved past caring how much any episode is based on Faith. I’m a Faith fan and I love reading stories about her, but you write so many characters so well that I can’t help loving the story. I was so disappointed when the hot Faith/ Spike sex got broken up a few chapters ago. However, you made all worthwhile. Finally, they got together. That really seems so natural to me. More importantly, it wasn’t just a throwaway thing or a relationship. Having sex with Buffy’s ex helped Faith realize she isn’t just a Buffy retread or Buffy, the lesser. I like that Faith finally feels “every bit the slayer Buffy is.” I also loved the ending. Faith’s “We’ll manage,” was a rather obvious double entendre, but I feel like there was doubt in it. Like Faith was telling herself that as much as everyone else. Good job.
Author's Response: Thanks! I really enjoy writing these many characters, so it’s very helpful to know you guys like reading them. I’ve received a few e-mails from readers who liked the Faith/ Spike sex scene, so I’m happy at least one reader representing those who enjoyed the pairing reviewed. |

Awesome story on the whole. It's very interesting. I have to admit though that I totally forgot that it was suppose to be based around Faith. Maybe it's just because so much is going on or something. I like the way you write for each character. Keep on going! I can't wait for an update.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review. Reviews like this definitely keep me going. I’m ecstatic to learn that people like the story and the characters. Although Faith was supposed to be the central character, I always wanted this to be an ensemble kind of story. I’m glad the absence of the lack of plotlines for the leading lady hasn’t been a distraction for you. Hopefully my characters and stories can keep you interested throughout the rest of my run here. |

Excellent chapter. When Spike/Faith happened, I felt a little anger, but that all disappeared when you used that as a catalyst for Faith to find her role as Slayer in her own right instead of just Buffy's second banana. I'm not too pleased with the retread of the "Everyone disagrees with Buffy" trend that has happened at least once during every season of Buffy, but if it removes her from the scene and puts the focus back on Faith (given that it is her series), I'm all for it. Now you just need to slowly phase Angel out of the picture. I think entrusting Connor's rehab and training to Faith since he is still on the run would be an interesting direction to go. Allowing Faith to try to save someone's soul on her own (maybe two if Dana stays) would be an interesting arc. Really, the only thing I didn't like about this chapter was Willow's lack of a backbone and her refusal to use magic to heal Kennedy. Considering that she seemed to be at peace with herself and her power in the Buffy finale, not wanting to use magic to help someone seems a bit out of character. I think you've successfully wrapped up any loose ends that both shows left dangling except the issue of Buffy's intense overprotectiveness of Dawn. Hopefully we get into more Faith-centric stories now. Fantastic work here.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'd like to note that not everyone disagreed with Buffy. Kennedy and Willow came down on Buffy's side. Willow's backbone will have to wait for next chapter (all 22 episodes are written, I'm just posting them slowly). Angel will definitely be moving out of the picture in the not too distant future. Like most relationships in the Buffyverse, I intended Spike/Faith to polarize people. Most people love it, but I expect some, like you, may hate it. I’m talking to a couple other fic writers to see whether they think Dana should stay on next year. I’m not sure yet. |
