Reviews for Angel 6x03 - The Tunnel

That bit with Spike reenacting the teaser from "City Of" was funny, especially at the end where he slips on the trash bags. And Heather's mom crack at Buffy, also funny. I give this two thumbs up. ^_^

Author's Response: I had a lot more snark between Heather and Buffy, but I was afraid it'd cause readers to instantly dislike Heather. Spike reenacting City Of was just an idea I visualized playing out onscreen after I watched Soul Purpose, but I had to play it for comedy. Glad it worked for you.

Sorry to double review, but I forgot to mention Heather’s bit at the end cracked me up. How many of you aren’t completely human? Everyone but Giles and Gunn. How many of you have died before? Buffy, Gunn, Spike, and Illyria. Buffy: “Spike and I twice actually. Good times.” Hysterical!

Author's Response: Hey, review all you want. Maybe you've experienced this as a writer, but it's strange that the lines I don't think anything about are the ones that people seem to like.

"LORNE (not looking away from his channel surfing) About as useless as a sandwich is to Lara Flynn Boyle." You so captured Joss there, that is exactly the kind of thing he always snuck into the script!!! But I loved the story, you caught the right tension between the characters and played up the old rivalries with a new blending of the LA./Sunnydale contingents! But bottom line, its a great story written with a good deal of wit!

Author's Response: We wanted to do more with it, but having Buffy around for any longer will be overkill and slow down the arc we want to get into later. Thanks for the review. I find that snarky Lorne is quite easy to write. Spike's probably the hardest character to write.

I've enjoyed reading these stories so far. It's incredible how they've managed to bring Buffy back into the fold, and the clever way of putting Angel in that Hell dimension, and the clever means by which both Cordelia and Doyle are used is awesome. Now, I'm curious about something though, what about Eve? It would be nice if she played a part in these things, perhaps once more as the villainess or something along those lines. It would also be nice to see Dru again, and not in a flashback capacity. but knowing you have a whole season planned out, and if the rest of the season is as good as what I"m reading so far, then by all means, keep them coming.

Author's Response: We've considered both. Painbow hates Eve with a fiery passion (read her story on here called To Kill A Liason to get the idea), so the chances of bringing her in for anything major are pretty slim unless Painbow gets to kill her in the most violent way possible. :) Drusilla we've thought about, but my only apprehension about her is that I'm terrified of actually writing the character. VERY few people actually write Dru well from what I've seen and I don't want to add my name to the list of people who screwed it up. Buffy was brought in b/c we wanted to actually wrap up the love triangle instead of tip toeing around the whole thing like the writers did in The Girl in Question and moreso in the Buffy finale. I wanted to spend more time showing the differences between the dynamic of Angel's team and Buffy's team, but we didn't want it to be All!About!Buffy again. Thanks for reading. More coming soon.

I love the way you're weaving in past events from the show. Anyone can THROW them in, but you do a great job of including them in the tapestry of your story. Heather is a great addition so far. I look forward to seeing more of her and the others!

Author's Response: We're trying VERY hard not to Mary Sue Heather, so in fine Joss tradition, she'll be nicely angsted up by the end of the season. It's going to take a few episodes to fully flesh out her character and set up how the rest of the team will play off her, but it'll be within the context of the arc. As for throwbacks to past events, I'm always of a fan of characters casually mentioning things that have happened to them in the past without making a big deal out of it. Clever viewers (and readers) will catch the throwbacks without a big sign that says "CONTINUITY HERE! CONTINUITY HERE!"

It's a very good story. Like the real Angel TV series, I can't wait for the next episode. Except what is Heather? Is she an American? Oh and throw in some Andrew and talk about the Immortal some more.

Author's Response: We've got the entire season mapped out. Can't promise too much Andrew (the storylines are set, but exactly how they'll be written isn't, so the door is open for future appearances). As for the Immortal, we're dealing with Buffy's love life in episode four.
