Being a huge fan of Spike and being particulary interested in anything anyone has to say about him, I LOVED your story. I can't wait for future installments. It is wonderful how you captured the freshness of being a newly made vampire, how the whole world seems to be a new discovery. I loved how yours words just seem to flow as if Spike put them in your head himself. Great job.

I am a fellow Spike fan, so I understand your...obsession! As I said previously, when I write, I let the characters take over, so you could say, Spike did put those words in my head, and onto the paper! First I wanted to thank you for reviewing Haven. Now to your story. The passage in which Spike describes how his new enhanced senses are assaulted by the world around him was very well written. You provided detailed insight into how Spike (or any vampire for that matter) would react to arriving into the new world. You captured this arrival vividly with poetic grace. I look forward to future installments. Oh, and Violet's 'Legalese' is a must read!

Author's Response: Haven was great, I loved it! And thank you for your gracefully written review! I had to become Spike to write that part, actually to write the whole thing so far. I let the characters take over while I write. They aren't mine, they are their own. I let them explore their personalities, their fears, hopes, and every other aspect of their lives. I think that is what makes a true story. An author must let go of the reigns, and let the character drive for a while! And I agree, Legalese was great! Thanks again for the review, and I look forward to reading more of your fan fiction soon!

Hi Shay. I saw your review of Haven by Angeldove and it made me want to check out your stuff. This is a good start on what promises to be an interesting fic. I don't normally like first person fics (I don't know why--some sort of weird bias), but your writing of Spike is fresh, funny, and poignant. I especially like his unique perspective on being a vamp. And his first sight of Dru after he rose was very well written.

I just had a sudden urge to write a history of Spike, and when I started writing, he took over! Thank you so much for such a well written review.
