Good story. I liked the 'More truckers then a rest stop,' I thought that was funny.
That poor Dana, she's a real feminist, of course, she's been hurt it's understandable.
That McHenry.
Author's Response: I liked Dana and think she was underused. I want to use her more if I get the chance. I’m glad you liked Connor’s wit and charm. I think mind-wiped Connor seemed like a pretty neat guy on the show. |

The Connor cover up was great. I am really liking the Spaith over tones. Can't wait to see what is going to happen. This story is so interesting. You characters have such conflicting emotions and are rich and complex. I really love your style of writing. Buffy and Connors talk on the bus really was so on target. Connor's flirting isn't bothering me at all anymore. I guess I am over my shock, huh? Must read more!
Author's Response: Yep, this Connor is quick on his feet with the covering up. The Spaith overtones will continue on and off for a while. Those poor, doomed kids. I took a screenwriting class and learned that writing is all about conflict. I try to have conflict on many levels, so internal conflict is a given. I’m glad you’re over your shock. Writing flirtatious Connor is pretty fun. I’m glad you’re enjoying my writing. Thanks so much for the reviews! They really make my day. |

I love how your episodes titles often have multiple meanings. How many likes were mentioned or crossed in this chapter? Faith and Spike seriously need to get together for some lovin' action. More strip poker. Playing Connor against type is hugely interesting. I love that he is completely not clingy. College Connor understands a one-night stand and doesn't give me the angst I was expecting. Instead, Connor's flirting with and teasing of Buffy made for a funny and refreshing change. Loved Buffy's "I was none of your business years old." I love the addition of Dana. She's definitely adding chaos. As for her and McHenry, what he did to Dana, what Buffy let Dana did to him: Yeesh. This chapter was definitely a rope-a-dope. You started me out thinking I was reading another funny and sexy episode. Then major action and a very intense ending. But Buffy's line about why good guys don't kill is definitely true to her character, as per the end of BtVS season 6. Connor's line on giving up on someone being the line he couldn't cross gave me so much insight into this hybrid happy/ tortured Connor you're writing. And I really like him.
Author's Response: Thanks Again! I try to get the layered meanings in my titleThanks Again! I try to get the layered meanings in my titles like the show did. I don't do it as well as the show or even as well as I'd like, but there you have it. I'm sorry to say that the Faith/ Spike tension may never get released. But you'll have to keep reading to find out. I thought writing Connor against type, at least when it came to being clingy after sex, would be a neat change and more natural for the character. I love Dana too and hope she'll add chaos for some time to come. I'm glad you like Hybrid Connor. And I'm glad you're still reading. |

Connor flirting? That was so cute. He may be able to teach his dad a few things. Keep the sexual tension up between Faith and Spike. Dana appearing? Ingenious. And her watcher. What a sleaze. Connor can relate to her, which made a good comparison.
Author's Response: As I've said before, I wanted New Connor to be anti-Connor. Buffy's ready for a guy who's too clingy. But he's a horny bastard who's been to college. He's not unfamiliar with the one-time hook up. I obviously thought Dana would be a nice addition. Her watcher, yeah, complete scumbag. I wanted to do more with the theme that the watchers are just overwhelmed with the number of new slayers. Connor can definitely relate to Dana. I’m happy I managed to highlight their similarities well. |

Forgot to mention, I loved the dialogue between Connor and Buffy about 'the other night' you get a sense that he understands that it 'was what it was,' but then at the same time he continues flirting with her, and then bringing up her sexual past as examples of precedent. What really intrigued me and threw me for a loop (a good one) was Buffy's feelings regarding Connor and that they are not as black and white as she has believe and had led us to believe until the end of this story. You get an immediate sense from Buffy that she feels this has been one big mistake, but then she does what Buffy does. She starts reconsidering as soon as she feels Connor may not be infatuated with her anymore, thus more continuation to the craziness that is Buffy and men. Great insight into her character.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I thought the Buffy/ Connor fallout would go in the most original direction if Happy Connor knew the difference between true love and a one-night stand. He is in college after all. Hook ups can’t be alien to him. I think that also added a level of coolness (as in a cool, calm demeanor) that Buffy appreciated. He flirted with her because she’s still hot. Those things combine to create conflicted Buffy when it comes to Connor. Glad that readers can buy that. |

This chapter added a few new great elements. I loved the addition of Dana to the story. I did however have a hard time handling the choice Buffy made about Dana in reference to the watcher (trying again not to spoil) I thought it would definitely be something Connor would do, however I just wasn't feeling that from Buffy. I will have to say that I did like the dialogue from Buffy, concerning killing bad people, and that ii is those that do the killing that are the most negatively affected by it. That rang very true in the tradition of the Fred/Gunn ATS situation. Looking forward to more!
Author's Response: I figured Buffy's decision would bring rebuffs (no pun intended). I may go back and throw in one or two sentences about what was specifically going on in her head to try to make it a little easier to swallow. |
