I liked this your story would have fit and been great in the episode. For some reason I guessed it was Jesse before I read it. I think jess was a great choice! Good Job.

The absence of Xander in Conversations with Dead People always bothered me, as I too felt Jesse/First should have paid him a visit, as to reflect Xander's life pre-Buffy and be contrasted with his current situation. Jesse was never mentioned outside the pilot 2 parter, and it would have been a perfect opportunity to reintroduce the forgotten friend into the Buffyverse. I had considered writing my own fic about Xander's coversation with the dead Jesse, but after reading the fic, doubt that I could do any better!

I really, really liked this. I think it would have fit perfectly into the actual show. I like that you brought Jesse back, because I think that character would be fun to explore, since so little is known about him. The things you wrote, really seem to hit home, not just to Xander, but to many people who are in strong friendships, and feel they may be lacking in something. Thanks for shining a light on the feelings of Xander, and the rest of the world!

With Xander's absence in CwDP, I wanted to see what might have happened if he had received a personal visit from The First, bringing his own self-perceived shortcomings to the fore. Jesse just seemed to be the perfect choice, and I wish that he'd been brought up more as the series progressed. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!
