I'll agree with filmtheory. Hands down the hottest first kiss ever written! wish my first kiss was like that. Hell my fiancee (also the man who gave me my first kiss) wishes our first kiss was like that, but no such luck. got way better with practice though!

I'm not quite sure how you wrote something that sexy without characters taking their clothes off, but you did. I'm just going to have to accept that. I read this as a stand alone story and thought it was great. I still do. Wow!
Author's Response: I'm glad you still enjoyed it, and found it sexy. Someday I hope to experience a kiss in just this way...so it is shameless fantasizing on my part. But hey it works, so who's complaining? |

Just reread it and I have chills all over again. I wanted to mention how perfectly you captured the moments immediately following the kiss. "They stood there in silence, neither sure what to say, words unable to compare to the conversation they had just voiced in a kiss." Truer words have never been written. I still can't believe you managed to write exactly what it feels like.

I am in complete awe of this passage. I have often thought about writing a true first kiss, but have never felt capable of expressing the myriad sensations and emotions. You have done it damn near perfectly. Not tawdry and superficial like in romance novels, not overly technical like in most mainstream fiction. Just pure, simple, beautiful, and real. I am sure to read this passage many times because it made me feel that expectant knot in my stomach and revived that nostaligic feeling of my own first kiss. Bless you for providing such a treasure of a moment. If you ever have any suggestions for me on rewriting some of my "kissing scenes", I bow at your altar.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it. You know how much your opinion means to me. Like I said to filmtheory, I was concerned about length because it's almost completely without dialogue. I was sure it would end up boring people and sound too much like a romance novel. I actually had that chapter written awhile before I posted it, nervous about how it would be received. So, I'm thinking it went pretty well….I'm very relieved! |
