This is one of the more interesting character narratives I've read. It's extremely impressive in that it has the dramatic strength to stand alone as a story in and of itself rather than being part of a larger story. The way you built exposition into character development and even plot movement is remarkable.

The most important thing you did with this piece is that you captured the character's voice. It isn't easy to do especially without dialogue. But I felt him: his thoughts, feelings, and everything he was experiencing, these were the embodiment of Angel. I also enjoyed the arbitrary external details that took us out of his head briefly at times, making the story feel all the more real. My favorite line: "I took her innocence, and she gave me back mine." Honestly stole my breath in that moment. Simply beautiful.

God, can you say... heartbreaking? Yes. Beautiful? Yes. Perfect? Yes. Please, continue! Keep writing. I especially liked: "You hurt the ones you love, someone once said. I'm not a philosopher, I'm not a poet, or a great genius. But someone said that, and someone was right. You hurt the ones you love the most. I don't love anyone in L.A., so the town must be safe. " Brilliant. It's so... Angel.
