| I love what you are doing here. I also thought they should have used David a little more. This is a great start and I cant wait to see were you go with it. I like that you took away all the power and gave it back to just Buffy and Faith. I agree with why you did it. Also, I like that you thru that little twist with Willow in there. I hope to maybe see OZ pop up with the wolf thing, maybe....huh...maybe. |

I love that you brought back David Nabitt, he was a severly underused character.
Author's Response: David will be fun to write with. I try to move the story along by telling it from only people's POV, other than the major characters; so he will come in very handy I think.
Him and some of the others I want to show up that haven't yet... |

Another good chapter. The exposition about the Queen wasn't as seemless as the exposition in your first chapter, but the backgorund on Vanguard and, of course, the inclusion of David Nabbit were awesome. I'm curious where Connor is, too. Of course, if he's dating Dawn . . . nah, never mind. Not with Spike there, right?
Author's Response: I wasn't as happy with this chapter myself, however I had to slug it out so I could move on. I wish I didn't have to tell about my Queen ideas, but I needed it to set up what come's next chapter, which is from Buffy's POV.
As for Connor and Dawn, they are early in the relationship...really just girl/boyfriend in name only.
Author's Response: Just on a side note. I wanted to reverse the whole Slayer powers to every Potential because I think it loses it's "Chosen"-ness with so many Slayers running around.
I like Buffy and Faith as singularities...Buffy the moral Slayer with Faith the failed experiment, but seeking redemption. The abilities aren't what makes them cool, it is motivations and character.

| This is a great chapter and promises to be a great story. I love how subtly and elegantly you handle the exposition. The way you casually unfold the events of the year between NFA and your story makes the line between plot development and background absolutely seamless. You've built in character development, emotion, action, and my personal favorite, mystery. (Who's the Queen? And Gunn doing a light show? What's up with that?) You're also working off a great template with Connor, Dawn, and Spike filling the roles of Buffy, WIllow, and Giles respectively. I loved the mention of each other's "gray" areas and reference to Connor's continuing fascination with assuring humans don't return as vampires. Great story. You must, must, must continue it. |
