Wow, this story is amazing. It's beautifully written, and a beautiful representation of the darkness. It sure looks like Buffy didn't have a soul, thus it's an interesting question--how much of her was still Buffy? I have just 3 complaints. 1) I thought Willow should've tried the Restoration Spell. 2) Tara should've been in it. This isn't just because I love her (and I do). But it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't tell her Buffy'd been vamped. 3) I wish you hadn't posted it all at once, cuz now it's over!

Author's Response: Thanks for the praise. I won't answer the first question because part of the allure of this is that we don't know (I don't know either!). 1) if Willow tries the restoration spell the story gets awfully short! 2) I can't write Tara very well, and honestly I've never put a lot of effort in trying to establish my characterization of her because it's just so bad. I didn't want to include a role that would hurt the overall authentic feel of the piece (because it would be so unlike Tara is supposed to be). I thought I could get away with it because she and Willow were not on speaking terms at the time. 3) I actually wrote this two years ago and only posted it here now because I only just came upon this site last week. Plus, I hate suspence. Hope that puts your mind at ease!

Author's Response: I've made a few brief alterations in chapter 2 to address your first two complaints. Nothing big, just a few mentions. Think of it as a Special Edition (on the other hand, I usually hate special editions, so you can think of it as whatever you like). I can't do anything about the last one though.
