| Oh, and real quick, I don't think you harassed anyone on that other thread. I didn't put the "needing a reason" thing in my rant because of that, and I'm sorry if you thought that. I put it in there based on my own friends - some of whom loved Riley and would always get on my case for disliking him. They always were like, well, you don't have a good enough reason for not liking him, but meanwhile, these were the same ones who hated Andrew because, and I quote, "he was a dork." Umm, okay. That's why I threw it in there. |

| You'd be a really fun person to debate with :) And THANK YOU - the rape attempt was horrible on the writers' part. Yes, "annoying" doesn't necessarily qualify as a good reason to "hate" someone. And I don't think Riley was annoying - my dislike (note - I don't have this intense rage hatred for him) for his character was more because I just felt he was dull. I enjoyed the other characters more. Again, Riley was the complete opposite of Angel (the "normal" guy). Had he been a stand alone character, he might've made more sense. As Buffy's significant other, well, the concept was just lost on me, I guess. Maybe I should put it this way - he was just there. He didn't move me to feel anything beyond a dislike that a flat character was taking up time on my favorite show, like Adam (boring, worthless villain). Everyone else on the show made me feel something, made me want to see what was going on in their lives. Riley didn't. I could've cared less where he was week to week. But again, I just think it didn't help that season 4 was generally weak as a whole, in my opinion. Yeah, anyway, I'd like to write more (cuz I talk entirely too much) but I've got work - joy of joys. So again, thank you for debating my points - I respect your opinion and agree that you make many valid points of your own. |

| Personally I never hated him either and was kind of suprised so many ppl hated the character so much. |

Author's Response: yeah, I don't think I ever hated him, not really. I was just being bitchy against him cause my Angel had gone. |
