It’s always great to have Lilah back. It was also nice to have that other old character back. (Don’t want to spoil). I feel bad for poor Connor- dad not letting him play AND getting his ass kicked by a girl. Emma still seems to verge on “Mary Sue” status, but everything’s so well written I have confidence you’re going somewhere interesting with all this. As for Angel, he was totally hysterical. Great chapter.

The beginning sequence was definitely cool. I also like Trish the vegan. Connor’s jealousy of Emma was pretty cute. I also like that Emma finally got her ass kicked by someone. Well, not kicked, but Illyria giving her a run for her money was cool.

I like that Connor is able to understand Emma and what she went through in Quartoth. I loved the flashbacks, too. It’s nice to see the character’s history unfold. The twist at the end was awesome. Keep it coming.

Wow. Emma is quite the little killing machine. I liked Connor and Illyria’s tete-a-tete in the garden. It was insightful, yet so true to their characters. I’m a little worried about Emma becoming a Mary Sue, but she’s kind of a villain for the moment, so I’m reserving judgment. The backup slayers were pretty cool, too. I hope we see more of them. Well, the one’s who lived, anyway. I’m interested to see if everyone’s right about who Emma’s father is.
Author's Response: Thank You. And yes, I was going for the whole "villain for the moment" thing. She's a challenge. A person doing what she was doing, that has been so, [badly chosen word.] 'sucessful' at it all this time, she's threat, something they have to take care of, fix. They can't let her keep up that and she's super strong, good at what she does, stronger than them, [sort of she's not completely invincible, who is?] Emma is a challenge [I repeat myself :-)] |

As a Connor fan, it’s nice to see Quortoth revisited. Angel was a bit of a jerk to Connor, but that’s nothing new. I love the new person to come into the story- love everything about them. I don’t want to say more for fear of spoiling.
