Very interesting, extremely well written. Its been awhile since I've seen season 7, so I'm not sure about Vi, but I can say with certainty that you have a complete understanding of Spike's character. Wonderful, I'll be interested to read more.

Author's Response: There's not so much to understand about Vi. She's a shy, scared and awkward character in the background for most of the season. The profound change comes in the last episode when this character that always seemed awkward in her own skin was transformed. When she was called as a slayer she was like a force of nature. She mowed the ubervamps down like grass and in her last scenes of the series she was on the bus standing over a wounded and bleeding Rona telling her to tough it out. Telling her to be strong. That her wounds were nothing. Watching that episode I always thought there was something interesting about Vi's character, both in her strength in the end, her obvious conviction, and how that meshed with what she was before. Weakness tempered with strength. She wasn't simply a warrior or a champion. She was a soldier. And that is something interesting. In this conversation in my fic Spike and Vi speak like soldiers.

Absolutely brilliant! The characters were well-written and, though I don't usually enjoy Spike apart from on screen, the blonde vampyre really works well with Vi. I cannot wait for this to continue. I hope this series develops, maybe in to a spin-off for just Vi {with Spike guest-starring now and again} or a series for the two of them {travelling or in one city}. Great!
