*coughs uncomfortably* Wow...you have such wonderful talent! And this poem is so true in regards to society today. I had goosebumps while reading this poem! I read it at least 5 times before reviewing. I was going to post a line or two here to talk about how much I appreciated and understood them, but I couldn't pick just one. I would just post the whole poem and put notes out to the side about what I like about the seperate lines, but that would take a long time! I think this may be my new favorite poem. Being a poet myself, I always love to read other poets work, and really love when a fellow poet abandons the stero-type of "all poetry must rhyme if it is real poetry" I hate it when people read my poetry and tell me it isn't real poetry because it doesn't rhyme. It has a flow, and a purpose, and that is all it needs! Thanks for posting such a beautiful poem, I hope to read more soon! -Marissa
Author's Response: Wow! What a great review! Thank you so much - I'm so glad you felt it like I did. I'm sure you can tell that I was feeling it when I wrote it... and I'm really glad that you're digging the lack of traditional rhyming. It's so true what you said about structure - I believe that poetry is the one form of expression that should be unbound and completely free. Not to say that poems with structure can't be amazing - only that they shouldn't be bound to it. Thanks again for the detailed review and the amazing compliment. It's truly appreciated!! |

OH my God, have you got talent. This poem took my breath away. I just sat and read it over and over again. It's so true of today's world. Kudos!
