I really liked this fic! You captured Angel's character well, emphasising that he sits on a fence, but he's not happy about it.Angel is capable of great good, and great evil, but sometimes, he's capable of great nothing, and this frustration is adequately vented on the good ol' punch bag. Though funnily enough, Buffy and Spike do the same in times of turmoil :) Liked the continuation of the alcoholic metaphor too.

Author's Response: Funnily enough :) I think it has something to do with possessing immense strength and the instinct to use it, but not wanting to hurt the fragile mortals around them. I'm glad I captured his character well - I try very hard. As I've said elsewhere, characterization is more important in fanfic than just about anywhere else. And I think the alcoholic metaphor is crucial to Angel's character : he's not a hero *because* of what he is - he's not a male slayer with a skin problem and a liquid diet - he's a hero *in spite of* what he is, which makes it mean more, I think. Thanks again.
