You see, I liked this story already, and then you go and put it in the context of Byzantium/Crusades. Whee! History geeker-joy! Much prefer this to the S5 Knights of Byzantium - their epic quality felt a little lost without a backstory.

OK Haargan's telling a story (I went back and read, must have missed it the first time, it was the very last line, I'm not perfect, OK, get off my back) Forget my last reveiw.

Author's Response: Actually, it was inspired by Kingdom of Heaven, not Lord of the Rings, and I thought nothing short of an epic battle would do for the first discovery of the Key. And hey, we need *some* historical (and yes, it's accurate) context for the knights of Byzantium.
