Surprise - Monday 19 January, 1998
Okay what else can I say, but Angel shirtless + Angel kisses = great Angel
episode. I thought Angel and Buffy were extremely sweet and touching
together. I do wish they had actually talked about sex more openly than
the hints than were dropped. However, I thought their intense love for
each other played well throughout the episode. I don't know about you, but
when he gave her the ring I was really moved. I also loved the way Angel
struggled to tell her that he loved her. By the end of episode, I
really thought like Buffy, that their making love was inevitable. There
were simply too much emotions between them for them to resist. Yet, I
was surprised that the scene was so brief considering the promo.
At this point, I am designating Jenny "Janna" Calender, Angel enemy no.1.
After he saved her life she is still willing to come between Angel and
Buffy, what a jerk she has turned out to be. Yet I am confident that she
will redeem herself in tonight's episode, at least I hope so for Giles
sake.
I did have a couple problems with the episode, (1) I really thought that
the story dragged a bit and (2) I thought the whole thing about Angel
leaving Sunnydale was dumb. I mean we all knew he wasn't going any where
so what was the point?
I really think that Angel and Buffy's relationship is in real trouble
whatever happens tonight. If was their lovemaking that caused the change
in Angel then this does not bode well for their future. We'll just have to
wait and see what Joss does. I suspect that Angel's evil persona Angelus
will not last for more than tonight's show, but who knows? Joss is a man
of twist and turns so I guess will just have to cross our fingers and
wait.
~~~~~SPOILER~~~~~~Well folks, I was wrong about Angelus only
lasting for one episode, Canadian Buffy fans who saw both parts have
hinted that Angelus is going to be here for awhile.~~~~~SPOILER~~~~~
