Hello everyone!
Sorry to be gone for a whole month, and I can't promise regular updating
until later this month, but I'm here now to catch up. The spoilers won't
be comprehensive but should provide a good overview of what we know so
far.

According to an industry source, ME has put out a casting call for
Slayers-In-Training. That is Slayers in the plural sense. These will be
non-speaking roles, with the footage being used during the teaser sequences.

Watcher Watch: We'll get much more Giles this year, according to Joss:
"(Anthony Head) is contracted for 10 episodes--could be more. He's
definitely a bigger part this year, because he's more a part of the mission
statement. And because we want Tony. We miss Tony. Last year, the finale
was like, 'Giles, help, they're idiots--they've ruined everything!' Seeing
Giles at the end of the season, and having him hear everything that had
happened and laughing about it, it was like the most important part of
the finale."

From pearlygirl: Anything on Buffy?
Sounds like episode two is going to be pretty Spuffy-centric. Or at
least that's what I'm guessing based on the title: "Beneath You."
Remember that line Buffy said to Spike, the one that had been said to
him hundreds of years before by a woman he loved? "You're beneath
me." Get ready for an angsty Spike.
From marcknight668: Do you think Sarah Michelle Gellar could sign on for
an eighth season?
It doesn't look likely.
From looloohere: What did Joss say about Willow's future (in light of
Tara's death)?
I asked him if he has changed anything about the new season in response
to the outrage over Tara's death. Here's what he said:
"The only thing that Marti and I admitted is that we debated about
whether or not Willow was bisexual, experimenting, going back and forth,
and we thought, after Tara, we think it really would be disingenuous of
us to have her be anything less than gay. So we decided that's pretty
much final--that's who she is now. To backtrack on that would make it
appear as if Tara's death was something other than it was. Had we not
killed Tara, had she just gone off, like Riley did, or something like
that, then it would have been a different situation. We could have played
a gray area in terms of sexuality. But now we don't feel that that was
the right thing to do. We're gonna be more definite about it. Whether
or not she finds any romance next season is still in question."

in Buffy weighs heavily on his sanity.

gains some style and cool and the fun, witty Xander of earlier seasons
is revived.
NEW - The title is in reference to the villain of the episode.

I just received some very sketchy casting information about two characters
who are going to appear in 'Beneath You'. My source is a little short
on the details, but it appears that Ronnie is the 'Monster Of the Week'
that is referenced in the title. One could also presume that Xander and
Anya are going to play key roles in this episode as well. It seems to
me that the writer's are going to spend the first few episodes of this
season, beginning to tie up some of the loose ends from last season. I
don't know how this will pertain to any of the other characters, as my
source is only getting information on new roles that the show is casting.
Nancy: A young woman who's recently just gotten out of a bad relationship,
but is becoming fast friends with the also recently single Xander. Unfortunately,
her ex-boyfriend Ronnie doesn't seem to realize that he's no longer a
part of her life, even though she wishes he wasn't. But in Sunnydale,
you should be careful for what you wish for.
Ronnie: Nancy's ex-boyfriend, who's not only an alcoholic, but abusive
to boot. Over the past few weeks, Ronnie has been stalking Nancy and trying
to find away to get her back into his life. Too bad she considers him
to be lower than a worm. Although feeling a little down and out due to
some recent changes, Ronnie is still focused on getting Nancy back (one
way or another)

Hey, just a few spoilers from Joss & Emma when they appeared at
the San Diego Comic Con.
On Friday, Emma Caufield was there promoting her new film "Tooth
Fairy", it's thriller/suspence film, it's like the 6th Sence meets
Fredy Krueger type of a movie, the trailer was pretty cool. They talked
about the movie for like 10 minutes then turned the program over for Buffy
questions
Emma was super cool! Her hair's dark like it was in the beginning of season
4 but a bit shorter, she looked so cool, and she was really nice answering
people's questions even when they were really dumb. Emma was asked about
leaving the show and she said her contract was up at the end of Season
7 and she thought it would be her last season, but kinda backtracked on
whether it absolutly would be her last season. She said she wanted to
do theater. Emma said Anya was going to grow as a person and she was going
to be able to do more actress, she's really excited about what Joss has
in store for Anya. The big news is that Anya's going to sing again! There's
gonna be a flashback to OMWF where Anya sings another ballad. I guess
that was suppose to be a secret cos later in the day, Joss was asked about
it and he said Emma was sworn to secretcy and wasn't suppose to tell anyone.
But he confirmed it and said it happens in episode 5.
On Saturday, Joss was there at a forum sponcered by Dark Horse Comics,
he talked about Fray, promoted Firefly and showed a scene from that, then
took questions. The first Buffy question was about Faith returning. Joss
said that Faith would return to both Buffy and Angel this year, they have
a commitment from Eliza, but Joss did say that announcing it now might
jinx it. The audience was thrilled and there were a lot of weird Eliza
mentions and questions after that. Someone has to post the complete transcripts.
Joss did confirm the OMWF soundtrack being released, explained the Bathroom
scene, talked about Tara's death, and Season 8. It was interesting what
he said about Season 8, that UPN wants to do more seasons of Buffy, but
it would be a new show, not try and replace Sarah. I hope someone has
the exact quote because it does clear things up. Joss was asked about
the returning characters, he said the Gentlemen won't be returning :(
I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out, hopefully others on the board were there
too or someone has a transcript.
(added later)
I really liked what he said about the possibility of continuing the show
after Sarah leaves. I don't think they're any specifics yet because Joss
didn't say for a fact that Sarah definately would be leaving, only that
her contract was up. I was just encouraged by fact that UPN wants another
season of Buffy.
Someone asked if the bathroom scene was part of the orginal story arc
or added in later. Joss said that it wasn't orginally there but it wasn't
something added last minute. To paraphrase what he said, cos I didn't
write it down, it was a natural progression and part of the episode because
Seeing Red was about male dominance, power, and violance. That the nerds
and Spike were role playing the whole season, testing boundries, and that's
when Spike and Warren they go to far.

Scans of the callsheet for filming in Bath, England.
Relevant

episode 2: (Act 2, scene 12) Willow gets ready to leave.

Episode 1 is filming now, and information is slowly becoming available.
For a variety of reasons, I cannot post the casting sides for episode
1 that made their way around the net. But they do indicate that there
are 1 to 3 new recurring characters: a new principal and two new students.
It seems that a lot of focus this season will be on the newly rebuilt
Sunnydale High.
We learn
more about what Willow and Giles are doing in England. Apparently, in
episode 1, Willow is not ready--physically and emotionally--to return
to Sunnydale. However, something in episode 2 happens to make her leave
England and return to Sunnydale.
We are getting
much more information on episode 2 now. The title, "Beneath You,"
would seem to refer to Spike (who was told in "Fool for Love"
by both Cecily and Buffy that he was beneath them). However, the Oracle
informs us that the title refers to the episode's villain. The Spoiler
Slayer suggests that the villain is a character named Ronnie, who is abusive
to his girlfriend Nancy. What we may be seeing is a replay of themes of
male dominance, which Joss at the San Diego Comic Con insisted was the
main purpose of last season's 19th episode, "Seeing Red." But
would this refer to Spike's attitude to Buffy? That doesn't make sense.
If the Oracle is right and Spike is struggling with his sanity, then why
would he be asserting "male dominance" like Ronnie and trying
to make Buffy feel "beneath" him? Xander could be a more likely
target of this parallel; with his new wealth and self-confidence (according
to the Oracle as well as posters on TwOP, I'm told), he may feel that
the vengeance demon Anyanka is "beneath" him.
Joss himself revealed in San Diego that Faith would return to BtVS this
season. An article
on AtS confirms that she will appear on that show as well. Perhaps Faith's
return might link to the information on the casting call for "Slayers-in-Training,"
reported by the Spoiler Slayer? Is the Big Bad something that is targetting
Slayers?
As always,
we need more info!
