Oh, and Allyson? Your Fury is too busy to play today - unlike us, he's actually
working for a living - down on the set directing (yes, directing) episode 11.

Hmm... dates for upcoming episodes... not really sure. I'm writing ep 12 now,
which I believe will air in late January. DeKnight will write 13 and Petrie,
14. Beyond that it grows misty... misty...

It seems I have a super-secret insider source for Buffy location shoots. So
super-secret is this source, in fact, that I didn't even know until about 4:15
this afternoon, when I received the following email:
quote:
I can't go to the location tonight because I have other plans, but I know where
they are gonna be... if they ask you how you found out where they are, just
say you saw it posted on a message board, but don't mention my name ok. If you
can't go see if you can get someone else to go and at least tell us what they
are up to!
1909 Stoner Ave, 16:00-23:59 tonight, 11/16
(Umm... yes, this super-secret source is someone I've met at shoots before.
It's not like total strangers are emailing me. But still I didn't know this
person could find out the shoot schedule, so it was still a surprise.)
Anyway, the location was once again down in the Stoner Park area near Santa
Monica. In fact, the vantage point from where I was standing tonight was almost
the exact spot where Tara and Anya met April the robot last year. Ah memories...
Unfortunately, for the most part this shoot was dull, dull, unbelievably dull.
It was for Episode #11, and David Fury was there being the director. As far
as I could tell, there's some sort of mystical invisible force running amuck
in Sunnydale, and one way we find out this mystical invisible force exists is
when it makes this aluminum can go rolling and/or bouncing down the street.
There they were, messing around with this can that had a string tied to it,
and as the cameras rolled they tugged on the string and made the can bounce
this way and that. It must have gone on for over an hour.
There were also these three extra-types, two men and a woman, and at one point
they were filmed walking down the street and reacting as the mystical invisible
force passed between them.
I was thinking about calling it an early night, but there were a couple of Production
Assistants standing there with us, and I was trying to hear what they were saying.
Rumor had it that SMG would be working tonight. Then word came that Alyson had
been seen working on the standing Sunnydale street set, which is a few blocks
away from Stoner Park at the studio where they film the show. Then there were
rumblings that Aly would be on her way over to Stoner Park for the shoot. I
decided to hold out a little longer.
Finally they finish shooting the silly dancing aluminum can. The PA's and the
other spectators are still chatting, but I'm looking down the street trying
to see what was going on. Finally I notice someone actor-like walking around
and being followed by a camera. Was it Aly? It sort of looked like her, but
her hair wasn't as red as when I'd seen her last month shooting the musical.
It wasn't until another of the spectators brought out her portable TV and tuned
it in to the camera feed (a nifty trick, btw) that I could tell for sure.
It was Aly!
Okay, sartorial report - Long tan/brown colored coat, not duster-length but
getting there. Dark gray pants, I think (she was far away). Her hair was straight,
and as I said it wasn't as red as it was in the musical.
They only shot two scenes with Aly. Apparently Willow is out looking for something.
She walks up to this house, and it looks like she checks an address or something
on a piece of paper. Her face looks tense and drawn, as if something sinister
is going on. She walks up to the house, then walks past the house and goes back
toward something behind it.
And that was it. They wrapped for the night.
What's Willow up to? What's behind that house? What's this mysterious can-dancing
force doing in Sunnydale? We'll have to wait a while before we find out.
But at least it was something - and in these days of no-shoot-sheet, even a
little something is something.
Join me in the Crypt of Decryption:
After yesterday's wildfeed, all I can do is throw
up my hands and give up. So far, it seems that spoilers from Herc and Mr. Video,
claiming that Buffy was possessed by a demon that made her and the audience
question what was real are untrue. Still, there are many puzzling issues. For
one, publicity photos from both Smashed and Wrecked seem to indicate that Buffy
is wearing very similar clothing. At the beginning of Smashed, she is wearing
pigtails, a black turtleneck, and brown pants. At the end of Smashed she is
wearing a top, denim jacket, and a black leather skirt. But in the publicity
phots for Wrecked, she is wearing the black turtleneck and blue jeans and pigtails
again. Furthermore, Spike's clothing appears to be different at the end of Smashed.
Instead of his usual black-on-black or even red-on-black, he is wearing a blue-purple
shirt and a gold necklace. Not really his style.
OK, obviously I'm not giving up. But given how the lid has been snapped back
on at ME and spoilers are trickling out in miniscule drips, it does bear considering
that we are in some sort of reality-impaired situation.
FanForum has shut down temporarily, so I cannot quote exactly, but I suppose
Sweetie would mind my repeating that Episode 10, from what she knows, involves
a possible car wreck and scenes in the sewers. I also have additional confirmation,
anonymously, that Episode 10 will involve some degree of naked Spike.
I can't even go forward and create a summary of Episode 10. There is too little
information, and what we have comes from sources that have been wrong about
these mid-season developments (although they were correct earlier). ME is either
switching from their original plans, or they are deliberately misinforming people
in order to keep the stories secret.
