Latest Rumors:

From Teen Hollywood on 9-17-01 http://www.teenhollywood.com/d.asp?r=5703&cat=1035

"Imagine what you would see if word got out into the demon world that Sunnydale, which is the center of evil on Earth, was no longer protected by the Slayer," Marsters says by telephone from his home in Santa Monica, Calif., on a rare day off. "The Scoobies hate Spike - I don't think there's a lot of trust between him and any of them. But he is certainly very much taken with Buffy, so anyone who's important to Buffy will become important to him.

"Whether they feel that way about Spike is a whole different matter."

Marsters won't divulge much more, other than to acknowledge that he'll participate in the November sweeps musical episode. He also "can almost guarantee" that Drusilla (Juliet Landau), the twisted love of Spike's life, will be back as a pain in the neck.

Review

"Buffy: Season Six" - A Review by 'Mark A. Rivera' (Positive, Very Minor Spoilers)

The wait is almost over for legions of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" fans when the two-hour season premiere debuts on UPN on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 from 8pm to 10pm (ET/PT).

UPN's premiere episode begins fast and quick with the "Scooby Gang" hunting vampires in the cemetery with Willow providing the play by play psychic direction so that none of the supernatural residents of Sunnydale will realize that Buffy is dead. Equipped with their "Buff-Bot" the gang copes as best as they can while Giles makes his final arrangements for a move back to England, a gang of marauding demons lay a siege on the town, and Willow attempts to resurrect Buffy from the dead with the help of the gang, but without the knowledge of Giles or Spike, who has been serving as Buffy's younger sister Dawn's protectorate.

Fans as well as viewers new to the series should have no problem catching up with the premise and understanding on a general level at least and recaps events from last season's finale episode when the series had concluded its television run on the WB network. Not a single thing is missing and the show with its inventive mythology and clever writing shows no sign of getting old. The only weak link in this premiere episode perhaps are the somewhat generic demons, but this episode is more about answering the questions surrounding Buffy's fate than the villain's master plan. Show Creator Joss Whedon has commented that this season will focus on the overall theme of "growing up" with Buffy and Dawn attempting to go on with their lives without their mother's emotional and financial support, Willow's continuing experiments with the boundaries of her magical abilities, Xander and Anya test the marriage waters, and Buffy and Spike further explore their tumultuous relationship. In November, the cast will expose their singing talents in a musical episode featuring all original music written by Whedon.

Spoiler Ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you. I almost would not like to have known, but now that I do know, I have to tell. In the first version script for the second episode of the sixth season called "Afterlife", written by Jane Espenson, Buffy is dealing with being brought back to life and rebonding with Dawn and her friends. In the last scene of the episode, it's just a close-up of Buffy's face as she talks. She says how she's ready for the challenges life will throw at her and how she knows she has to be strong for Dawn, and how she has to move on, but not forget. The camera slowly goes back to reveal that she's saying all of this in front of Joyce's grave.

merikus asks: Can you give us any more spoiler on "Bargaining" the 2 hr. Buffy premiere ep.?

Wanda replies: I just watched it (another reason I'm loopy today), and you guys are definitely up to speed on what'll go down. But here are a few interesting little tidbits: Willow is bad ass (not yet BAD, just badass), conjuring up spells right and left, and keeping the Scoobies together in Buffy's absence. She was elected to be their new leader. Dawn's no longer the key, just a regular girl who's going to get a very regular life (watch the video clip if you haven't).

Wanda: (Cont.) Buffy comes back by recomposing under the ground, after the Scoobies think they've failed with Willow's spell. Buffy awakes to find herself buried alive, which makes her a little ... OFF. She's not the Buffy that once was.

visionboy asks: Wanda, whats in store for Cordelia this season on Angel?

Wanda replies: Lots of buddy-buddiness with Fred. Since she's been the sole sister on the show for awhile, we're going to see some big bonding between the two characters--even though a love interest (not necessarily a new character though) a little later in the season may cause a few cracks in their sisterly superglue.

gee_spot asks: Hi Wanda! Which premiere are you looking forward to the most?

Wanda replies: New show--Alias. Return show--Buffy. Although I've already seen both so I suppose I can fit a little trash TV into my schedule (ahem, Temptation Island, Love Cruise, can't wait!).

debbiebonly asks: Wanda, what do you think about the season premier of Angel?

Wanda replies: loved it. I've gotta say, I'm warming up a bit to the idea of Fred (Amy Acker), whom I formerly was welcoming with the oomph of a cousin Oliver.

gene asks: Can you tell us more about this buried alive thing? How does she get out?

Wanda replies: She is the superslayer, my dear. She whacks her way out of the coffin, up out of the ground. The Scoobies have left the scene and don't find out Buffy's back until they hear the news from Buffybot.

kristodd69 asks: You didn't say if the season premiere of Buffy is any good. Is it?

Wanda replies: Is James Marsters hot?

nona asks: How are Anya and Xander in the premiere?

Wanda replies: Already a bit squabbly.

dark_princess666 asks: wanda please oh please give me all the dish you know on whats going to happen between buffy and spike this season !! please i'm dying!!!!

Wanda replies: Based on what I've heard: It's not going to go full Monica/Chandler, but I can guarantee it'll at least go Mulder/Scully.

Join me in the Crypt of Decryption:

Not a lot of spoilage came our way this week. They're about ready to start shooting the musical, and Joss and co are keeping a tight lid on this experimental--and pivotal--episode.

James Marsters indicates that Drusilla will return to the show. Drusilla's return would inevitably create conflict between Spike and Buffy.

Wanda reiterates once again her understanding that the Spike/Buffy relationship will be filled with UST (unresolved sexual tension) when she compares the relationship to Mulder/Scully of the X Files.

I am skeptical of thejudge's spoilage re Episode 3. My version of the shooting schedule doesn't contain the scene he mentions. Of course, it could have been deleted from the original script, or the shooting schedule I have may be incomplete.
