Same Time, Same Place

Okay, gang. I've got 384 pages of technical documentation to read
for work before I go to bed tonight, so this is gonna be a quick
one... :-)
I really did enjoy tonight's episode. Why, oh WHY couldn't we have
had writing like this all last season? Oh well - that's neither
here nor there. The idea to have Spike being the only one (at first)
who could communicate between Willow and Buffy and Xander was simply
ingenious... Was I the only one who was having serious flashbacks
to "Fool For Love" when he started walking towards space announcing
that "You're glowing..."? Wow...
I also found it very interesting that Willow, in a sense, got a
dosage of her own medecine, thanks to the demon-whose-name-I-can't-spell.
Having her magic be ineffective against him really gave her a feeling
of Warren's last moments, didn't it?
I also liked that Buffy out and out admitted that she tends to
think the worst of people... and that she doesn't want to be that
kind of a person.
Wow... so many things to like in this ep. I really need to go read
Dori's Spikefeed, because I haven't seen it yet, and I didn't quite
catch all that Spike was saying... but I was so happy to see Buffy
go to him for help, and to see him be able to contribute to the
cause. TPTB are really setting us up for a wild ride with Spuffy
this season, aren't they?
Couple of quick thoughts:
Not-quite-all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips: Anya's definitely not thinking
that the vengeance gig is all that it was cracked up to be anymore,
is she? Interesting that she and Willow - the two female characters
who really had no use for one another for the longest time - now
have so much in common. I was also happy to see that Anya was the
one who was able to help Willow the most.
Look-who's-all-grown-up-now: Dawn seems to be vying for a job at
my company, with all her talk of creating databases and so on. It's
good to see her being able to contribute... although it scared the
pants off me when she got slashed by the demon. Hopefully that will
mean that she'll start being more cautious... but it probably won't
happen. I'll be happy to settle for I-Call-It-Like-I-See-It Dawn
instead. <G>
Comments I loved:
"Spike's insane in the basement."
"Who's Blaming Willow?"
And the whole Spike scene in the basement... way cool
Seriously... this was just a good ep. If there were plot holes,
I didn't see them... and I was just captivated. I'm sure that there
are all kinds of metaphors contained in the storyline, and the fact
that Willow is still Powerful!Willow gives us all kinds of storyline
fodder for the rest of the season... but I just flat out enjoyed
it.
And last, but certainly not least... the line I've *so* been waiting
for...
"I'm Insane. What's his excuse?"
