"Five by Five"
It's dark and a gangbanger named Marquez is looking to hook up with his friends. He sees some individuals sitting around a fire burning in a trash barrel beneath an overpass. He notices a strong smell and asks what's being burned in the barrel. He doesn't get an answer. One of the individuals is holding a gun. Marquez warns those gathered around the fire that his "boys" aren't going to be pleased when they arrive and find the mess the intruders have created. The one holding the gun stands up. It's a demon and the gun it's holding is in the hand of a severed human arm. It drops the arm holding the gun into the fire burning in the trash barrel. Marquez sees for the first time that these guys aren't human. He turns and runs with the demons in hot pursuit. Marquez draws a gun and shoots at his pursuers as he's running but it doesn't faze them. Angel's car comes screeching around the corner behind them, with Wesley at the wheel. As the car passes the demon pursuers, Angel leans out and decapitates one of them with a sword. The car passes Marquez and stops in front of him, cutting him off. Angel jumps out and decapitates another of the demons, spraying his car and Wesley with demon guts. He offers Marquez a lift. Faith steps off of a Greyhound bus. She's carrying a duffel bag, looking a little worse for wear. As she walks past a sleazy guy smoking a cigarette, he begins to walk beside her. He's noticed she appears to be new in town. He warns her LA can be a dangerous place to a young woman with no money, no place to stay. He offers to help her out. She tells him she's cold. He anxiously offers his leather jacket to her in response. Faith proceeds to beat him down until he's unconscious. She leans over him and takes his money and his keys. She is no longer without cash or a place to stay. She removes his jacket and puts it on herself. She's pleased with what life has just offered her. Borsa, Romania 1898 A blindfolded Angelus enters a house followed closely by Darla. He wants to remove the blindfold. Darla tells him it's not time yet. He grabs her. She tells him she wants to give him a gift first. She kisses him and leads him into another room. She removes the blindfold so Angelus can see her gift. On the floor, in front of a roaring fire, lies a young gypsy girl, bound and gagged. Darla wishes Angelus a happy birthday. He kisses her in appreciation for his present then leans over the terrified girl and morphs into vamp face. He slowly pushes her skirt above her knee, leans down and bites her inner thigh. Darla looks on, smiling. Present day, LA Angel shoves Marquez down into a chair in his private office. He tells him if he doesn't want to die, his only option is to do what's right. Marquez isn't anxious to do anything. Angel reminds him that he won't be there to save his butt the next time and neither will Marquez's gang, having been dismembered and incinerated. In the outer office, Cordy is lamenting having suffered the pain of a vision for someone like Marquez. She's sure there's no way he's going to testify. Wes is lying on the couch in the office, apparently having caught a nap after bringing Marquez in the night before. He thinks Marquez may help, considering he and Angel saved his life. Cordelia isn't convinced. Wes sits up on the couch, he thinks that whatever Marquez's mindset may be, Angel will convince him to do what's right. Cordy is just as sure that Marquez is what he is and that means the chances he'll choose to do the right thing are somewhere near zero. She reckons guys are pretty much all the same. What you see is what you get, they don't change. Wes points out that could have been said about Angel at one time as well but he certainly did change. Cordy reminds him that Angel changed because he was cursed by gypsies. She sarcastically remarks it's unlikely they can find some gypsies to force a soul on Marquez. As Wes pours himself a cup of coffee, he notes that Marquez already has a soul and he believes he will eventually do the right thing. Marquez comes out of Angel's office, he's determined to leave. Angel drags him by the collar back into his office and slams the door. From the outer office, Cordy and Wes hear Angel order Marquez to sit and be quiet. Cordelia is satisfied that her opinion about Marquez seems to have been proven right. In Angel's office, he's working on convincing Marquez to testify. Marquez finally seems to be leaning toward doing the right thing thanks to a little subtle threatening on Angel's part. On a crowded dance floor at a night club, Faith is dancing by herself. She dances up to a guy, coming between him and the girl he was dancing with, and starts putting the moves on him while dancing. The girl stares in disbelief for a moment, then informs Faith that she is dancing with her boyfriend. Faith checks the guy out, then tells the girl she didn't notice any mark of ownership. The girl petulantly demands that her boyfriend, Billy, do something. Faith smashes the girl in the face with her elbow. Billy takes a swipe at Faith but she evades the effort, sending him tumbling into a guy dancing behind her. The dance floor erupts into one big brawl, with everyone seemingly fighting with someone. Faith continues dancing, occasionally throwing a punch or a kick, fairly oblivious to the chaos around her. In a courtroom, Wolfram and Hart attorney Lindsey McDonald is standing before the judge's bench, arguing that the District Attorney has not been able to back up his case with witnesses and without that, there is no case against his client. The D.A. argues that he would have the witnesses if Wolfram and Hart would stop intimidating them to keep them from testifying. Lindsey is offended by the allegation of tampering and informs the DA he will be filing a complaint against him with the bar association. He then asks the judge to dismiss the charges against his client who he describes as a "law abiding citizen". Lindsey and the DA turn to the courtroom entrance at the sound of the doors opening. Angel enters, accompanied by Marquez. Angel makes a comment about Lindsey's client being a drug dealer and a murderer. The DA smiles and calls Marquez to the stand. As Marquez is being sworn in, Lindsey and Angel glare at each other. Back in his office at W&H, Lindsey is on the phone attempting to explain his recent failure. He tells the party on the other end of the line that he underestimated Angel. He won't make that mistake again. Another attorney, Lee Mercer, enters the office. Lindsey assures the party he's on the phone with that he'll find a way to handle the Angel problem. He hangs up the phone. Lee offers Lindsey some papers and tells him he may have the answer. Lilah Morgan is walking through the lobby. She calls to Lee who is walking a bit ahead of her. She tells him she's heard he has a plan to deal with Angel. Lee wonders how Lilah knows about it so soon. She tells him it's her job to know what's going on. She wonders how he knew about the Slayer being in LA. Lee says it's his job to know. He's been checking out the police reports and is aware of what Faith has been up to since arriving in town. Lilah thinks this is all well and good but pointless since Lee has no idea where Faith is. Lee assures her he'll have that information soon. Lilah opens a file folder she's carrying and shows it to Lee, telling him she already knows where to find Faith. She says she'll make first contact. Lee doesn't agree. He thinks since he found her and came up with the idea, he is the one who should follow it through. Lilah is adamant that she will be the one to approach Faith first. Lee wants to know why. Lilah feels she has more refined people skills. Lee calls her a "bitch" in response which only confirms Lilah's opinion. Cordelia is in the office on the phone with a potential client. She tells the person they don't generally handle divorce cases. The person apparently offers a sizable fee for their services so Cordy makes an appointment for the next day to meet with the client. Angel and Wes enter the office from the elevator. Cordelia inquires how things went in court. Wesley tells her they won the case. Angel adds Marquez testified. Cordelia tells them she has some good news as well. She's got a line on a new client who has the means to pay for their services. Wesley asks her what the case is. Cordelia stalls by saying she doesn't quite have all the facts yet but they have an appointment to meet the client for lunch tomorrow. She turns to Angel and asks if he's pleased with the way things turned out with Marquez. Angel doesn't answer. Cordy tells Wes she can tell when Angel is happy. His dour expression isn't quite so dour. Wesley thinks Marquez was fortunate to have Angel there to push him in the right direction. Now he's wondering how W&H will retaliate. Lilah and Faith exit backlot onto the sidewalk. It's evening. Faith says she's not really into talking, she's more the take action type. Lilah thinks there's been a misunderstanding. She calls Faith by name which sets a suspicious Faith immediately on the defensive. She demands to know how Lilah knew her name since she didn't give it. Lilah tells her that they know a lot about her; who she is, what she does. They also know she's had some problems lately and they think they can assist her with that. Faith wants to know who "they" are and how is it they know so much about her when she's totally in the dark about them. Lilah turns as Lee Mercer opens the back door of a black limousine and invites Faith for a chat. Faith and Lilah both enter the car. Borsa, Romania 1898 Darla enters the house calling for Angelus. Angel is cowering in the corner, on his knees, his face pressed against the wall. He's remembering killing, saying that some die quietly, some do not. Darla wants to know what's going on. Angel is remembering the children screaming. Darla smiles at what is obviously a pleasant memory for her, not so for Angel. She wants to know if he's brought her some children to feed on, assuring him she's more than willing to share. Angel turns toward her, looking pretty beaten down. He's tormented with the memories of years of killing. Darla goes to him, she wants to know where he's been. He pushes her away. Darla thinks he's found a new woman. Angel grabs her by the shoulders, looking for comfort. Darla shoves him away and demands to know what is going on. He tells her that the gypsy girl's clan found out what he did to her. They did something to him. Darla wonders if they cast a spell on him. Angel is overwhelmed by the memories of years of torture and killing. He begs Darla for help. Darla touches his face and somehow knows the gypsies gave him a "filthy soul". She is disgusted by that fact and rakes her fingernails across his cheek, drawing blood. She warns him to stay away from her while grabbing a chair to threaten him with. Angel reminds her that it was she who brought him the gypsy girl. Darla breaks the chair, retrieves one of the wooden legs and tries to stake Angel with it. She misses. Angel is still looking for some understanding from his Sire but he's not going to find it. Darla screams at him to get out before she kills him. Angel stumbles out onto the street. He looks back briefly to see Darla standing in the doorway, stake still raised. Present day LA, an office at Wolfram and Hart Faith is accompanied by Lilah, Lee and Lindsey. Lindsey is reading over the police reports on Faith from Sunnydale. He notices they make no mention of Faith being the Slayer and he sees that as a good thing. Lindsey tells Faith that they have a problem and he thinks she's just the person to provide the solution. If she does this for them, he believes they will be able to solve her legal problems for her in return. Faith wants to know who they want her to kill. Lindsey tells her his name is Angel. Faith doesn't need to hear anymore. She agrees to do the job. Lee is surprised she doesn't want any more information. Faith tells him that there is one thing she wants to know, how much they're going to pay her for the job. Lee takes a rather condescending tone. He thinks she should have the facts about her target before they discuss monetary compensation. He wants it clearly understood that W&H have no connection to her whatsoever in case something goes wrong. This was, after all, his plan. He doesn't want any mistakes reflecting badly on himself. Faith grabs him by the back of the head and slams his face on a table, repeatedly, as Lindsey and Lilah look on. Lindsey is impressed with her attitude. He flips on the intercom and tells his assistant to make the dinner reservation for a party of three instead of four. Cordelia, Wesley and Angel step off of an elevator into a large lobby. Cordelia is promoting their taking the latest case saying it's a bit out of the realm of what they usually do but this client can afford to pay and they need the money. Angel wants to know what kind of demons are involved. Cordy remains evasive. Wes echoes Angel's question, wanting to know what the case is, exactly. Cordy finally admits it's a divorce case. Angel isn't enthusiastic. He reminds Cordelia that isn't the type of case they generally work. Wes thinks the whole things sounds rather sleazy. Cordelia asks them to just meet with the guy before making any decisions. She also suggests they pick up the tab for lunch to make a good impression. Wes takes his wallet out and checks his cash. While on the subject of money, Cordy thinks it would be a good move for one of them to take out a small business loan to help tide them over between paying clients. Faith has entered the lobby, she is standing a ways behind Angel, her presence going unnoticed. As Cordy presses her case for a loan, Faith aims a crossbow at Angel's back and fires. Angel turns and catches the bolt in midair, inches away from his chest. Faith is impressed with his reflexes. She's looking forward to the game. She runs out of the lobby into the daylight. Wes, Angel and Cordy stand staring after her, stunned that Faith is out of her coma. Back at the office, Angel finishes a phone call with Giles and hangs up. He tells Wesley and Cordy that Giles says Faith disappeared from Sunnydale a week earlier and that she's mentally unbalanced. Wesley is upset that Giles didn't call him as soon as Faith woke from her coma. He was her watcher, he believes he should have been informed. Cordy offers that perhaps Giles was occupied with other things at the time, like trying to deal with Faith in Sunnydale. Angel says Giles was concerned about Buffy and had no way of knowing that Faith would come after him. Cordy wants to know how she and Wesley can help. Angel tells them they can help him find her by running down police reports, particularly assaults and murders that occurred since Faith left Sunnydale and to concentrate on activity near the bus depot and bars. He also warns them to keep a low profile. He doesn't want either of them to present easy targets for Faith. Wesley protests this course of action. He expects to stand by Angel in taking on Faith. He thinks they have a better chance that way. Angel is adamant that the floor isn't open to debate on this subject. He's their employer, he decides what's best and they do what he says. His decision is that they are to stay out of it. It's his fight and he'll deal with it. Cordelia is perfectly fine with that plan. Wesley wonders why Angel seems to be taking the matter so personally. He wonders if Faith did something to Buffy before leaving Sunnydale. Angel says Giles didn't go into any of the details, just told him it was difficult. Wesley is sympathetic to Angel's concerns about Buffy but he points out that allowing emotion to rule him rather than logic will result in either he or Faith not surviving this fight. Angel is okay with that since it seems to be what Faith wants anyway. Wes is alarmed by Angel's apparent callousness regarding Faith's possible fate. He reminds Angel that Faith is a human being, not a demon, and even though she's mentally unbalanced, they need to try to get through to her. Angel reminds Wes that he did get through to her once until "some British guy" and the council dragged her out of his house and destroyed the trust Angel had managed to build with her. Cordy starts to chide Angel for blaming Wes just because "some British guy" messed things up. A glance from Wes and from Angel make her realize the "British guy" Angel was referring to was Wesley. She refrains from making further comment. Wesley knows that was a mistake, he doesn't need to be reminded. Angel tells them to get to work on running down any information they can. Angel is standing in front of the open weapons cabinet in his apartment, scanning the contents, when his attention is drawn to a noise upstairs. He closes the cabinet doors and cautiously ascends the steps to the office. As Angel enters the office, the shades are opened, allowing sunlight to stream in. Faith greets him. Angel doesn't seem surprised to see her. He tells her he always likes seeing old friends. Faith pulls a gun. She tells him the gun is for him. She intends to kill him in a way that will take a long time and be as painful as possible but she's willing to give him one chance to save himself. She tosses him the gun. Angel catches it and fires it, aiming for her leg. Faith is amused. Angel realizes the gun is loaded with blanks and throws it back to her. Faith is disappointed that he aimed to wound, not to kill. She thinks he needs some motivation. Angel wants to know why she's doing this. Faith tells him that she's being paid to do a job. Angel wonders if she's thought of the possibility that he might actually enjoy killing her. Faith dares him to do it, offering that perhaps he'll get that one moment of perfect happiness and they can both burn in hell together. She continues to taunt him to do something. When he makes no move to take any action against her, Faith assures him that if he doesn't get her, she will get him. She aims the gun at Angel and fires. Angel is staggered by the impact of the bullet hitting him in the chest. His expression is one of pain. Faith's expression is one of satisfaction as she points out that not all of the bullets were blanks. She's hoping Angel is motivated enough now to come after her. Faith jumps through the closed window, shattering the glass, as Angel looks on. Angel enters the W&H office building. It's evening. He's dressed in a suit, carrying a briefcase. One of the attorneys calls to him, mistaking him for one of the firm's lawyers. Angel stops and faces the attorney. Angel bluffs his way through a brief conversation with the lawyer about a case they are working on. The attorney continues to think that Angel is one of the firm's lawyers and never catches on otherwise. They finish their conversation, the young attorney departs. Angel enters Lindsey's office. He sits behind the desk, opens a drawer and rifles through some papers. The door opens, Lindsey enters with a smile on his face. He wonders if Angel has any regard for the law. Angel asks where Faith is. Lindsey claims not to know anything about anyone by that name. He suggests Angel check with the personnel department since it's a big firm, he can't be expected to know everybody. Angel assures him he'd remember Faith as he describes her. He thinks Lindsey must feel he has it all in his position with the firm; good income, posh office, and the ability to hire a killer when the mood hits him. Lindsey reminds him that Angel threw one of the firm's clients out of a window, killing him ("City of"). Angel is unrepentant, pointing out the window in Lindsey's office is just about the same size as the one he pushed Russell Winters through. But since the body burned to ashes before it hit the ground, he doesn't figure he'll need a lawyer. Lindsey lets him know they only handle a specific class of client and Angel wouldn't qualify. Angel thinks he's surely killed enough people in his time to warrant representation by W&H. He asks Lindsey again where he can find Faith. Lindsey tells him that the security system was alerted to his intrusion as a security guard enters the office with his gun drawn. Angel knocks the guard unconscious. Lindsey assures him there will be more of them arriving any minute and the police have been notified as well. Everything that has transpired in Lindsey's office has also been videotaped. He'd like to stick around for the fireworks, but he's late for a dinner appointment. Angel casually picks up the briefcase and tells Lindsey he'll see him again. Wesley is reading through a police report as he and Cordelia approach her apartment. It's evening. He says there were a couple of assaults, a bar fight, several arrests and a woman whose description matches Faith was apparently involved but the police weren't able to arrest her. She assaulted a police officer and escaped. Cordelia unlocks the door to her apartment and starts to open it, but it's forced shut. She tries once again to open the door, and once again it's slammed shut. Cordelia calls to Phantom Dennis that it's just Wesley with her. She opens the door again, this time it remains open as she and Wesley enter the apartment and Cordy turns on the light. Cordelia tells Wesley that Phantom Dennis is just a bit jealous. Wes says he'll try calling Angel again as Cordelia heads for her bedroom to pack some things. Wesley reminds her to pack light as he picks up the phone to dial it. On the way into her bedroom, Cordelia is met by Faith coming out of it. Faith is disappointed that Angel has yet to take the bait but she thinks she can use Cordelia and Wesley to change that. Wes tries to reason with her, but she's not in the mood to listen. Wes thinks there's some good in Faith somewhere. She responds by smashing Cordy in the face with her elbow, dropping her to the floor. She wonders if Wes still thinks there's some good in her. Wesley punches Faith in the face. Faith responds by kicking Wesley across the room. Borsa, Romania 1898 Angel is wandering the street at night. Three men and a woman exit a building onto the street. Angel approaches them and tells them he's hungry. One of the men tries to shoo him away. The woman tells her companion to let him be, he's only a beggar. The man throws some money at Angel who picks it up from the ground and throws it back at the man. He doesn't want it. The man is insulted and angry. Angel morphs into vamp face and tells the man it's his female companion he wants. The woman begins screaming at the sight of the monster before her. Her three companions drag Angel into the alley. Sounds of a fight emanate from the shadows. One of the woman's companions is tossed from the shadows, through the air, past her. The woman calls out to one of her friends. Angel comes out of the shadows of the alley and grabs her, dragging her back into the alley. He shoves her against the wall and bites her. Present day, LA Angel enters Cordy's apartment and hears her groan. He rushes to her as she's just regaining her bearings after being knocked out by Faith. Cordelia tells him that Faith was already in the apartment when she and Wes arrived. She tells Angel that Faith wants him motivated to play the game, there was nothing she and Wesley could do to stop her. She asks Angel if Wes is all right. Angel quickly scans the apartment then tells Cordy that Wes isn't there. In an apartment somewhere in LA, a badly beaten Wesley is gagged and bound to a chair, being tormented by Faith who's urging him not to fade on her since she's not done having her fun yet. She doesn't want him to die until she's ready. Faith lists the categories of torture still available and asks Wesley if he has a preference. She removes the gag so he can respond. Wes doesn't offer an opinion of torture options but he does offer his opinion of Faith, that she's a "piece of sh ---". Faith doesn't like it and expresses her displeasure by interrupting him and roughly gagging him again. She heads over to a picture frame, smashes it and picks up a long shard of glass from the remains. She's decided to work the sharp torture option for awhile. Angel and Cordy are looking at a city map in her apartment. Cordy lists the events she and Wes discovered from the police reports; who was assaulted, where. A guy beaten near the bus depot, his keys and wallet taken, a fight at a restaurant near there a week later, and shortly thereafter another assault by a woman in the general vicinity that left the victim in the care of paramedics. Angel notes the site of the first assault, where the victim's wallet and keys were taken, on the map. Cordy tells him the victim is still hospitalized, she and Wes were about to go to the hospital to talk with him when they ran into Faith. Angel asks Cordy for the victim's address. Faith is sitting on the window sill of the apartment, looking at the piece of glass, now stained with Wesley's blood. She slowly drops it to the alley below and listens to the sound of it breaking. Faith gets up from the sill and returns to the apartment where Wes is still tied to the chair. He has new wounds, bleeding from Faith's assault with the broken glass. Faith thinks things need a bit of warming up. She goes to the kitchen and gets a lighter. She ponders if things would have been different if Wesley had been Buffy's watcher and Giles had been hers or if things are just as they are fated to be. She picks up an aerosol can and walks over to Wesley. She pushes the button on the spray and holds the lighter to it, igniting it. She does this a second time while she blames Wesley's lack of effectiveness as a watcher for her failures as a human being. Faith ignites the aerosol one more time, right in front of Wesley's face. Suddenly, the door is kicked inward, off of its hinges. Angel enters the apartment. Faith drops the spray can and lighter, grabs a knife and holds it tightly against Wesley's neck from a position directly behind him. She wants to know if Angel is sufficiently motivated to play the game now. Angel assures her he's ready. Borsa, Romania 1898 Angel stumbles out of the alley, realizing he cannot feed on the woman he has bitten. He wanders on down the street as the woman emerges from the alley, shaken but alive. She lightly touches the wound on her neck. Angel stops to lean against a wall briefly for support, then continues on his way. Present day, LA Faith isn't quite convinced yet that Angel is indeed motivated enough to take her on. She wonders if killing Wesley would guarantee that. Angel walks slowly into the room as Faith turns to stay face to face with him. Angel tells her that none of this is about Wesley, it's about her and himself. Faith claims she's just repaying old debts. Angel wonders what for, isn't Faith perfectly content with who she is? He asks how much W&H are paying her to kill him. Faith says she's getting $15,000. She knows it's not a lot, but she's willing to start at the bottom and work her way to bigger contracts. She's young, she has plenty of time. Angel isn't sure she has all that much time considering the road she's traveling. Wesley sees that Faith's attention is on Angel and takes the opportunity to make a move. He throws himself backwards, chair and all, ending up on his back on the floor as Angel kicks Faith clear of Wesley. Wes notices the knife Faith was holding is stuck into the floor next to him. Faith picks up a stake lying on the floor and charges Angel with it. He evades her as her momentum carries her past him. She turns and kicks him, they exchange blows. Angel hits her a couple of times, gets the stake away from her, spins her around and throws her into the couch. He snaps the stake in two over his leg and throws it to the floor. Faith taunts him to fight harder as she kicks the coffee table in front of the couch, splintering it into pieces. She leaps onto him, wrapping her legs around his waist. Her momentum carries him backward, slamming him into the wall and one of the fireplace tools. He grimaces as the fireplace tool impales his back. They continue to exchange blows, both ending up on the floor, Faith on top of Angel punching him in the face, still taunting him to fight harder. Angel throws her off and as he's trying to get up, she grabs a floor lamp, sweeps his legs out from under him, then throws him across the room. She leaps over to the other side of the room, breaks a vase over his back and beats on him, throwing him into the ceiling. They continue to exchange blows, Faith getting the better of the fight at the moment as Wesley looks on, working on his ropes with the knife he's managed to pry loose from the floor. Faith throws Angel across the room and charges him. He grabs a chair to use as a shield. Faith comes at the chair feet first, smashing it into pieces and falls to the floor in the process. Angel grabs her and turns her onto her back but she kicks him and sends him flying across the room before he can do anything. She rushes him, kicking him in the back, forcing him face first into a glass display cabinet. She tries to follow up with a kick but Angel manages to move out of the way, leaving her to shatter the glass of the cabinet. He turns and hits her a couple of times, picks her up, slams her to the floor and shoves her across the room. Faith picks up a piece of broken furniture and charges Angel with it. He grabs her and they both go tumbling out through the window, falling onto a dumpster and into the alley below. The rain is falling hard, flashes of lightning illuminate the two warriors occasionally. The fight goes on as Wesley continues frantically sawing his ropes with the knife. Faith is getting the best of the fight as Angel chooses to fight her only defensively. She continually tries to provoke him into fighting harder. She throws him across the alley, into a fence, then pummels him some more. He mostly takes the punches, occasionally dodging one here and there. He grabs her, twists her arm behind her back and tosses her a ways down the alley, showing that he could gain control of the situation if he really chose to. He walks toward her and tells her he knows what she's trying to get from him, but he isn't going to oblige her. They continue to exchange blows and kicks. Wes has finally managed to free himself from the ropes, rushes to the apartment window and sees Angel and Faith fighting in the alley below. He goes to the kitchen, grabs a knife and heads down to the alley. In the alley, Angel has stopped fighting as Faith pounds on him, filled with self loathing. Wesley arrives on the scene just in time to hear Faith begging Angel to kill her as she breaks down crying, her blows becoming weaker. Angel envelops her in an embrace as she sinks to the ground. He continues holding a sobbing Faith, trying to reassure her in some small way. Wes silently watches the scene playing out before him and drops the knife he's carrying to the ground.
