Continued...

At the gym, Xander yelled; "C'mon Buff, kick his ass!!" then to Willow and Giles "Come on…Buffy can use her fans now, make some noise…" "Just shut up!!" Willow and Giles simultaneously said while Buffy and Eddie walked to the middle of the gym. Buffy was preparing for the fight and said to Xander; "Whatever happens, don't interfere, we're not gonna kill each other and I want this to be a fair fight" "…okay…" Xander answered *does everyone suddenly hate me?*. When Buffy was warmed up, she asked "Ready?" Eddie was just standing there, waiting for her; "Whenever you are" He spoke in a relaxed voice, as if he enjoyed it. The two stood there for a moment, waiting for the other to make the first move. Buffy ran towards him and punched, he dodged, she tried again, he dodged again…he dodged every punch and kick she threw at him. While attacking him, she saw something in his ear, a black thing that looked like an insect. *What's that?* She held her attack "Stop being such a chicken and just fight without the help of insects in your ear!" she said, he smiled; "That's no insect, it's just my discman" he said. "Ok, but stop being such a chicken and do something else than dodging…" "SISSY!!!" Xander yelled to Eddie. "Xander, shut up!" Buffy yelled, then to Eddie; "Can we continue now?" "…Huh? when did we stop?" Eddie asked. He put a new cd in his cd player and turned up the volume, Buffy could hear some sort of rock music. He turned around again and got a direct hit in the face from Buffy's right fist. "Alrighty!" Buffy said "Let's get started, gimme yer best shot!" SLAM!! She received a direct kick under her chin, she fell backwards and slided a few meters over the floor before jumping up again "How'd you do that?" Buffy asked, still a little dizzy "Training…" Eddie said "Well, if that was the best you had, you're in trouble now…" *Shit, this guy's for real…* Buffy threatened "…you might consider giving up" *Giving up? she's got some guts* "You're still funny" he said. They waited a second and she attacked again, he dodged, blocked and tried to counter every attack. now that she was closer to him, she could hear the music better too and she noticed that his fighting style changed after a few minutes. *Hmm…Is he moving with the rhythm of the cd? * She stopped attacking and observed, he was moving a little forward and backwards to get her to attack him and she noticed that he did it with the rhythm of the music… The music stopped *I guess the next track is about to start*. And indeed, as the next track started, she saw a little twinkle in his eyes and he attacked again, she tried a leg sweep, he jumped and tackled her at his landing, she got up and gave him a fist in his stomach. He took a few steps back from the impact and slammed her to the ground. She was a little dazed when she got back up, then she got an idea, she blocked a punch and started punching him. She threw a hard punch into his stomach and stole his discman. Then she attacked again, this time, his rhythm was gone and she could easily hit him, because he needed to much concentration to block her attacks. Still, her punches didn't have very much effect, so she had to think of something else. *Come on, just drop dead already!!! Oh, wait, idea!* She started punching very fast and forced him back with every punch, he was too busy blocking her attacks that he didn't notice that they were going towards the wall at the side of the gym. When he was almost standing with his back against the wall, Buffy gathered her strength and in her anger she punched him directly on the nose, by the impact of her fist, his head slammed backwards against the wall just a little bit harder then she had planned *Oops…*. The disgusting crack was heard at the other side of the gym, where the others were sitting, they saw his body falling on the ground, dead, they assumed. All ran towards the exhausted Buffy to ask if she was okay. Giles checked Eddie's pulse "Ehhh…Buffy" he said "What? is he dead?" She asked, "No pulse…" Giles said *Very big oops* then the body started moving again "…That hurts…" Eddie got back on his feet *she broke my nose…* he grabbed his nose between his hands and snapped it back to it's usual angle *that's better*. "…Shall we go on…?" They walked back to the middle of the gym and were about to continue when Eddie heard something *Someone's coming…* he stepped towards Buffy and tackled her, next, he put his foot in her back, grabbed her arm and pulled it. Right then…principal Snyder came walking in. "Can you please tell me what's going on in here, mister Giles?" "We…were…eh" Giles started *Oh dear…*, then Eddie filled in; "I was teaching them some self-defence, I was just showing Buffy how you stop someone that tries to mug you" "And what does a librarian have to do with that?" Snyder asked, "I asked him to watch us…" Buffy said, knowing that they would all get into trouble if she didn't play along "…just in case something would go wrong" "Mister Brock…I don't think these criminals need to get lessons in how to beat somebody up, I think the school is a safer place without a bunch of kung-fu criminals" Eddie helped Buffy back up on her feet *Man, that guy's a moron* "Alright… we'll leave"

Five minutes later, they were sitting at the table in the middle of the library, Eddie on one side, Buffy on the other. "So, who are you?" Buffy asked "Eddie Brock" Eddie simply answered. "Of course!..." Xander suddenly said "...Venom!" Eddie looked at him *Damn!* "So you finally found out..." he said "Found out what?" Buffy wanted to know, then, Eddie started explaining; "Eddie Brock is a character from the comic Spiderman, I always use names from those comics as alias" "Aha!!!..." Willow said, in the indisputable Willow-way of finding something out "...I knew it!!!" Everybody looked at her "Okay...I didn't, I just thought that this was one of those moments where the detective says 'aha I knew it'..." she explained *You don't understand, right?*. "Just call me Eddie, I'm fine with that" "Fine…" Buffy said, and continued unsatisfied "…Number two…what are you?" "Well…" Eddie started "…One might say I'm a human being" "Yeah…but I'm Buffy, not One…and I say you're a demon and you better start talking, before I do what I'm supposed to do with demons" "I'm a human" Eddie still said "Cut the bullshit, will ya?! I just crushed your skull and you just stood up and laughed, nothing human could've survived that" Eddie thought for a second, then he said; "I'm not completely human, but I can assure you that there is no way that I turn evil, I'm sort of a good demon" Buffy didn't seem completely satisfied with this answer either, but still, she continued, knowing that he wouldn't tell her more anyway "Last…" "…But certainly not least" Xander filled in, Buffy ignored him and continued "What the hell are you doing in Sunnydale?" "Can't tell you…" Eddie said "If he told you, he'd have to kill you" Xander joked "Exactly…" Eddie said "…And if you really wanna know…ask Giles" then he turned his head towards Giles and asked; "Didn't Angelus tell you yet?" Hearing Angel's name made Buffy forget everything "what?…Angel?" she asked, Giles remembered again "Yes…he was here the other day…" "Why didn't you tell me?" Buffy demanded to know, angry with Giles for not telling her. "Calm down Buffy, I'll tell you, if you just give me a minute" "Two minutes will be fine too" Xander joked "What?…Oh…yes" Giles laughed softly, seeing that Giles had already forgotten the question, Eddie started explaining; "You're in grave danger, Angelus knows, being around him would probably cost you your life" Buffy was surprised "How do you know that?" "Can't tell you…" he said again. The bell rang and Eddie stood up to leave the library, Buffy jumped up and blocked his path "You're not going anywhere until you've answered my question" she said, Eddie laughed *Pathetic lifeform…* "Try to stop me…" He pushed her aside and left the library.

Part four:

That night…Buffy was patrolling when she saw Xander and Willow coming out of the Bronze "Hi guys" she greeted "So…did the Buffster slay anything yet?" Xander asked "Nah..I guess they’re pretty extinct by now" Buffy answered *At least I hope so…*. Together they went for a walk through the park, there, they sat down on a bench. Buffy and Willow started talking about boys, so Xander was left out and he tried to focus on the sounds of the night. "Hey guys, 'd you hear that?" Xander asked when he heard a snap on their right "What?" Buffy asked, then all three of them heard movement in the bushes surrounding, Buffy got up and yelled; "If you wanna live, show yourself!" Then, at least fifteen large vampires jumped out of the bushes and surrounded them, but didn't do anything, the vampires stepped aside and broke the circle to let a boy pass through. "If it isn't the little brat from last apocalypse" Buffy complained and she broke off a piece of the bench. The boy threw some blue powder at her, Buffy dodged, but she got forced forward by the vampires, "Okay, fun's over...Stake time!" Buffy punned and punched the nearest vampire down, the boy threw the remaining powder over Buffy and her friends, who immediately paralysed. "What the…" Xander questioned, the boy commanded his minions to kill the slayer and her friends. The nearest three vampires attacked, but before they could reach a neck, they started screaming and fell into dust. "No...not now…why is he here?" The anointed one questioned loudly, then he ran "Run, while you can!" he yelled, then he jumped into a hole in the ground. The warning came too late, most vampires lost their head while running, their ashes scattered everywhere. Three vampires remained, a shadow stood in front of them, it put away a sword and pointed its fit towards the terrified vampires, the shadow opened its hand and fire blasted out of it, incinerating the remaining demons. The shadow shot a strange light around them and the paralysing spell disappeared, Buffy was the first who spoke after all this "Eddie?" Eddie turned around "You didn't see a thing…" He said, then he ran away, Buffy was too confused to think of following. *Eddie?*

Eddie was running, running too fast for anyone to catch up, he didn't want the Slayer and her Scooby gang to know where he lived, while running past Buffy's house, he saw the only reason why he was in Sunnydale; Kashra, she took the form of a teenage girl, Eddie walked back and drew his sword, the girl turned around and transformed into her demon form and Eddie could feel that she had become more powerful since last time and that he wouldn't be able to beat her, not now that he was tired of the fight and the running. Still, he fought, dodging every slice of the blades he could, but the demon damaged him more then was good for him. He fell down on his knees…The demon roared; "SO THIS IS ALL THERE'S LEFT OF THE GREAT WARRIOR…YOU'RE PATHETIC!!!" Eddie grinned "I'm not fighting at my full strength…you're the weak one…can't even hit me properly…loser" The demon lifted its right blade to finish him off when suddenly, it got kicked from behind, it fell with itshead on a lawnmower and stayed down, dizzy. "Got yerself in trouble again kid?" "Angelus!…'been a long time" Eddie said "Doesn't your demon drive you away from here?" Angel helped Eddie back up on his feet "Nah, I guess it understood that I had to help you out…Let's just leave, before demon girl here wakes up again, let's go to my place for a cup of coffee…" "You don't even like coffee" Eddie interrupted "Blood then.." angel joked "Fine with me…" Eddie said "…You know I don't mind drinking blood" "Yeah, but I've got normal food too" "Let's just go…"

When they arrived at Angel's place, Buffy was already waiting for them "Hi Buffy" Angel and Eddie greeted, she didn't speak. Almost dragging the two inside, she demanded to know; "What is going on here? What happened in the park? How do you two know each other? What was that thing at my house? Why am I being left out of everything?" Eddie sat down on a chair, got a drink from Angel and started telling; "In the park, you were attacked by some prophecy kid called the anointed one, I killed his minions, acting faster then they could defend…What you aw in the park was the only thing you weren't supposed to see…" "Which is?" Buffy asked "Some of the true me…" *…My power…* He paused a second to drink something and let the silence work in on her. "And why is that so bad?" "My existence is supposed to be a secret…Angelus is the only one who ever saw my true strength and lived…Well, lived…" "So you're gonna kill me now?" "You? no, you don't really think that was all I've got?" "Well, at the gym…" "You wouldn't have lived if I would've used my full strength…I know…I once killed a hellgoddess…Ask Angelus…" "My name is Angel now" Angel corrected "Oh, sorry". "Angel and I used to be demon hunters…Untouchable, we hunted down and killed all kinds of demons…" "…Until Kashra appeared…" Angel continued; "I fought her once before, when I was still evil and we hadn't met yet…I lost, but damaged her so badly that she'd die for sure…" He paused and Eddie continued again; "She didn't…" *I'm not stupid…not every blond girl is…* "Angel and I ran into her again 75 years ago…We barely survived the battle, but we managed to kill her…For real this time. After that, we split up, the demon inside Angel tried to keep him away from Kashra, so he was afraid that he would be a threat for me, I left him on the streets of LA and continued my job as a demon hunter…That was when I found out…Someone had resurrected Kashra and she had spawned children…" "Wait a minute…Why do you keep calling this monster she?" "Because she is…So after this…I dedicated my life to hunting the demons that were called after their mother…Kashra…I killed every one of their breed and by accident obtained the powers of one…Superspeed, hearing, eyesight, strength, stamina and so on…Those powers combined with my own powers, I became strong enough to defeat her on my own…I followed her to hellmouth and found Angel…In love with a Slayer…" "So, what is this Kashra exactly?" Buffy asked, knowing that they would tell her the truth made her feel more comfortable. "Kashra is a demon that looks like a human, but has better senses and higher strength, speed and all that, like a vampire…But when she transforms…The cells of her body turn her into an iron mass, hard to damage and even better then the human form…Plus…Her hands transform into blades." The description got Buffy suspicious again; "I saw your hand transform into a blade too, last night…" "You saw wrong, I summoned my sword using black magic…" "So what are you going to do when you kill her?" "If I kill her…My demon powers will be gone and I'll pick up my old job as demon hunter again…" *Or maybe bounty hunter…* He paused again. Buffy thought back to the park and decided that he was telling the truth. "So, Angel…Why have you been avoiding me?" She wanted to know. "Kashra is looking for revenge, so she'll come after Eddie and me first 'cause we killed her once before" Angel explained; "If she finds you with me, you're in danger and trust me, you won't live…" "Okay…So…How do we kill this demon?" Angel got up and got something to drink from his fridge "Thanks…" Buffy said "…Do we just chop his head off?" "Her head…" Eddie corrected; "…And we won't do a thing…I'll kill it while you're safe at home…" "Hey, this is my town and I fight demons when I want to." "…I will fight Kashra…" Eddie said; "…I just saw her strength and I know I'll be able to beat her…" "What if you don't?" "Then…There's always plan B…" He looked at Angel; "…Think you can do it?" *…Again…* "Only when necessary…" Angel answered "Do what?" *Do what?* Buffy asked "Nothing" Angel and Eddie simultaneously said, then Eddie stood up, greeted and left. "You should be going too…" Angel said "Wh…Why?" Buffy asked "You need some sleep, big party tomorrow night, remember?" She smiled and kissed him goodnight, for what was left of it…

Part five:

The next day at Sunnydale high, everyone was talking about the upcoming night at the Bronze. In the library, Giles was trying to make a battle plan for Buffy, the scoobies and Eddie, but only Eddie was interested, so the two of them were just talking about demons and Giles' books. "You don't have much on Kashra, do you?" Eddie asked. "Well, this ís the most complete collection of demon books in Sunnydale" Giles claimed "Wrong, it was" Eddie grinned; "I've got a little collection too…" "Fascinating…" Giles mumbled "…Can I…" "Which ones?" Eddie interfered, knowing what question was about to come. Giles thought for a minute "Do you have The Volrath encyclopedia on prophecies and apocalypses?" "I've got the complete works of Volrath, from abnormal artefacts to ziggers…" "What's a zigger?" Buffy asked, after they had heard Giles saying fascinating, they had been listening in on the conversation. "Long story…" Giles said, Eddie agreed; "So, which one do you wanna borrow?" "All of them…" "Of course…" Buffy said in a way of: this is gonna be a long, long day. "All my books!?" "Well, eventually, but, for now…Only the Volrath encyclopedias…If it is okay with you, that is" "Of course…" Eddie pointed his finger at the table and focused, a bright light started to shine at where he was pointing, a few piles of books appeared. "Holy hellmouth, that’s one big pile of books" Xander said "The complete works of Volrath…from 1 to 200 and the special edition about the Slayer" Eddie explained, Giles was looking at the books, almost drooling; "Incredible…These books are in perfect shape, how did you get these?" "I stole…Bought them the day they came in stores" "That's impossible…" Giles said; "These books are more then a hundred years old…" "Oh, didn't Buffy tell you yet? I'm 237 years old, I didn't age anymore since I was 15…Now…About this book, there's a prophecy inside that I don't really understand, it's about the Slayer, but I wonder why they'd put it in a book about Kashra demons. Buffy and Xander were staring at Giles, he looked as happy as a father that sees his baby take its first steps "Look, look, he's drooling!" Xander suddenly said; "Oh, wait, it's just the light" "Hey you guys, don't you think it's a little odd?" Willow asked; "I mean, you know, that Eddie just 'poof', you know, makes some books appear and next, he tells us he's 237 years old and nobody even notices" "You're right Will…But right now, I don't care, I wanna see my Watcher drool". Eddie was just taking a book off the second pile, there was a sketch of a Kashra demon on the cover, He opened the book and pointed to a few sentences on the fifth page:

The chosen one and her companions will be assisted in times of need
By a grey knight, a brave warrior implanted with an evil seed
They will battle evil, side by side
For together alone they can turn the tide
When evil is fought he will be gone
Forever known as the reliable one
