Life's a Bitch: 7

by Ksue

Buffy woke up alone in Angel's bed. SHe sat up and looked around, hoping to find some sign that he was around. She didn't. His clothes from the night before were gone and hers were folded neatly in the chair next to the bed. She slid out and dressed quickly, hoping to be out before a miad came in.
"Angel? Darling...Oh my God, Aaron, call the police!" A woman opened the door to find Buffy making Angel's bed. Buffy stood up, shocked and tried to speak.
"Why what's wrong. Oh my God. How dare you break into our house!" Aaron, Angel's father, yelled. He lunged forward and grabbed Buffy by the wrist, dragging her downstairs.
"I can't belive this! Our secruity is supposed to be the best, Aaron!" Angel's mother, Heather, cried, following them down stairs into the kitchen.
"Okay, wait! PLease, I didn't break in! My name is Buffy, I'm a friend of Angel's!" Buffy protested. Tears began to roll down her cheeks.
"Ha, likely story," Heather huffed. As Aaron reached for the phone, Angel walked in with a bag of bagels and coffee.
"Dad? What's going on?" Angel asked, setting down the bags and noticing Buffy's tear streaked cheeks.
"This street urchin broke into our house and was stealing form us!" Aaron explained.
"No she wasn't! Dad, this is the girl I told you about, Buffy." Angel said.
"This is your girlfriend? Angel, you can't date her, she's poor!" Heather yelled. Buffy stood and ran out of the house.
"Damnit mom! Buffy, wait!" Angel called, running after her. He found her sitting on the curb, head in her hands.
"You know, every girl wants to find that someone. The person you kow you're meant to be with, even if you only known them for a few days, or hours even. I thought I had found that with you. I just need to know, Angel. How do you fell about me?" Buffy asked, sniffling.
"Buffy, I've loved you since that first day in the diner. It was scary as hell, falling in love with you so quickly, but I knew in my heart you felt the same way, so that made it less scary." Angel said.
"Do you think we moved too fast?" Buffy asked, looking at Angel.
"I was ready. The only question is, were you?" Angel asked, taking Buffy's hand.
"I was. I really freaked when I saw your parents," Buffy laughed.
"I probalby shouldn't have left until you woke up, but I wanted to let you sleep. My parents always jump to conclusions. Sorry about that," Angel apologized.
"It's okay. I better go," Buffy said standing up. Angel followed suit and lightly kissed her.
"I'll call you, be careful." Angel said.
"I will. You too." Angel watched Buffy walk away before heading back into his house.
"Angel! How could you do this to us?" Heather shrieked when Angel walked back in.
"I'm not doing anything to you. I love Buffy!" Angel explained.
"You can't love her, Anggel. She's poor. You could do so much better," Heather said, her voice filled with sadness.
"If you guys would take two minutes to get to know her, you'd realize that there is no one better." Angel shouted.
"Allright, allright. Angel invite her to dinner tomorrow. We'll go in with an open mind and get to know her. Then we'll amke our opinion." Aaron said, comprimising.
"You promise? You'll go in with an open mind?" Angel asked.
"Yes. Won't we Heather?" Aaron said pointedly to his wife.
"I suppose," Heather sighed. Angel smiled, maybe his parents would actually like Buffy. He hoped so.

A/N: See, there was a point to their relationship moving faster than usual. I'm not a big fan of rushing into things, but I thogut it fit. Please read and review. Thanks!
