"Faith, where exactly is this party?" Buffy asked as they stepped onto the bus.
"U.C Santa Cruz." faith adjusted her black skirt and dark maroon top.
"Really?" Buffy looked over her outfit as she thought of Angel. She was in a bright red dress; short with spaghetti straps and red heels.Her hair was in soft curls with the sides pulled back.
"Yeah really. Why?" faith asked, eyeing Buffy suspiciously.
"No reason," Buffy shrugged.
The two girls stepped off the bus in front of U.C Santa Cruz and made their way to the south dorm.
Inside, the party was in full swing. Buffy and Faith made their way through the hazy room until they found drinks. Faith grabbed a can of beer and Buffy reached for the punch.
"I wouldn't, if I were you," a deep voice said from behind Buffy. Buffy and Faith spun around at the same time.
"You!" Buffy exclaimed brightly, looking over Angel.
"And you. What brings you to U.C. Santa Cruz?" Angel asked, reaching around Buffy and grabbing a can of soda. He grabbed an extra and handed it to her.
"Thanks. Uh, we just came for the party," Buffy shrugged.
"Really? I wish I could leave, but it's my dorm. My roommate trows parties all the time and I don't reallt trust her around my stuff," Angel dighed.
"Her?" Buffy asked. Her smile faded, automatically thinking it was his girlfriend.
"Yeah. Actually...Cordelia!" Angel shouted, waving someone over. A gorgeous girl with long brown hair came gliding over.
"What?" she asked, impatiently tapping her foot.
"This is Buffy. Buffy this is my roommate, Cordelia." Angel introduced them. Cordelia looked over Buffy, arching one of her perfectly manicured eye brows.
"Hmm. Well, enjoy the party." Cordelia turned on her heel and walked away. Faith cleared her throat.
"Oh! Angel, this is my best friend, Faith. Faith, this is Angel," Buffy said, smiling at Faith.
"Well, I'm gonna go see if there are any boink worthy guys. You two behave." Buffy winced at her friend's choice of words.
"You wanna get outta here?" Angel asked.
"Sure," Buffy shrugged.

A few minutes later, Angel and Buffy were walking the campus. The stars were out in full force, and Buffy could see them clearly for about the second time in her life.
"So, what do you want to be?" Angel asked, looking at Buffy.
"I haven't thought much about it. It's pretty much a non issue," Buffy shrugged. She shivered and Angel handed her his jacket.
"Why is it a non-issue?" Angel asked, his forehead wrinkled thoughtfully.
"I can't go to college. Even if I get an acedemic scholarship, it wouldn't be enough. My mom and I barely get by as it is," Buffy sighed, biting her lower lip.
"Think about it. What if money weren't an issue?" Angel asked. He silently linked his fingers with hers.
"I guess, I don't know. Maybe a teacher?" Buffy guessed. She moved closer to Angel, loving how protected she felt when she was with him.
"A teacher? Good choice, I think you'd make a great teacher," Angel said, smiling at her.
"What about you? What can you do with an Irish mythology major?" Buffy asked.
"I want to be a college professor, specializing in Irish history," Angel explained. He stopped, pulling Buffy close to him.
"Look at the stars. This is the only place in town where you can actually see them," he said, gazing at the sky.
"They're beautiful," Buffy sighed, leaning against Angel.
"Dance with me?" Angel asked, holding out his hand. Buffy took it and they held each other tightly, swaying under the stars.
"Buffy?!" Faith called, running towards them. Buffy broke away and looked at her.
"What Faith?" Buffy called back, annoyed.
"We gotta fly. Brooke just called, said Spike's havin a hell of a time holdin back," Faith gasped. Buffy knew that Faith was talking about her mother.
"Damnit. Angel, I have to go." Buffy apologized, her voice breaking.
"I'll drive you," Angel offered. With that, the three of them took off running towards Angel's car.
