Between Apocalypses: Epilogue

Epilogue:

The sunlight came up slowly, hitting Angel. He twitched a little, then opened his eyes quickly when his foot burst into flames. He backed away, scuttling like a crab, trying to get rid of the fire.

He looked. The alleyway was empty--but there was a sewer cover. And he'd have to take it, because there was no coverage apart from that.

Hopefully, Buffy wouldn't be too pissed.... No, it was too late for that. He was sure that she would be. And Spike? Where was Spike?

He jumped into the sewer.

More importantly, what had happened??? This was.... Had it been Wolfram and Hart? No, no, they couldn't have changed Connor--could they? Maybe it was a botched spell....

He looked down at the water. Then, with what may still have been an oath, he stepped backwards. Wes stared back at him from the ground--the way he had been, but bloodied. Tired. What was this? He had to find Willow. Convince her it was really him--figure this out.
