So Close: Summer
by BelovedSlayer
The love of her life was gone forever.
Seeing her Angel leave was too much to bear for the Chosen One,
even after all the terrible things she had seen in her Slayer career.
Buffy Summers ran home, anger and sadness building inside her as she neared Revello Drive.
Night soon fell when light rain began to trickle down from the night sky,
soaking the Slayer, while disguising her many tears that were falling from her eyes.
She stood by her front porch, thinking that she didn't want to go inside, she turned around and ran.
Buffy ran as fast as her Slayer reflexes can take her to Angel's now empty mansion.
She wanted so much to be with him, so much to love him, but she couldn't believe it was all slipping away from her quickly like melted snow.
Buffy couldn't believe he was out of her life.
Her first love, her protector, her partner. He was gone.
More tears fell from her eyes onto the concrete sidewalk like fallen raindrops as she neared the mansion.
Rain poured in more harder then ever as strong winds blew and rustled the surrounding trees.
A dark figure stood behind the trees, causing Slayer senses to sharpened
as Buffy neared the tree. "Angel?" she whispered, not believing he was here.
She ran to him, seeing his angelic face as more rain began tom pour down.
Angel pulled the Slayer closer to him as he kissed her, feeling like it was the last time
Buffy would ever see him again. It broked her heart. Angel kept kissing her as his body started to fade like a ghost.
She couldn't believe that they couldn't experience that jouy ever again.
They couldn't feel what they could of had if he had stayed, It was so hard to bear.
Angel looked at his true love, his face filled with both love and sadness.
"I love you, Buffy. I always will," he said as he faded away all together.
Buffy stood there, crying and crying as rain fell to the ground.
He was a ghost, just a ghost. Not my real Angel, she thought bitterly as s
he kept on crying, missing him so much, as she cried her broken heart on her way home, this time alone.
