~The Past~

“Angel, I’m pregnant”, the young woman whispered through the phone in the phone booth. She had tears streaming down her eyes and she was scared. The soothing voice on the other line was too far away to help her. “I’m starting to remember things too”

She paused and took a deep breath; tears still flowing freely down her eyes. “From that day in L.A. when you…” she once again took a deep breath, “The day you were human”

“Nobody knows”, she continued, “I just found out, I didn’t know…I’m sorry” she went into another burst of hysteria.

“Buffy, where are you?” Angel asked in a concerned voice.

“On the highway by a rest stop” she continued stress and worry showing on her features. “I just had to get away”

“I call Giles” Angel started to say.

“No, please…I can’t, no one can know” she said as she was starting to cry harder. “I’m not ready to tell them yet”

“We can figure this out, don’t worry, I can come-“ He stopped when he heard the phone on the other line fall and a scream.

"Don't scream and I won't kill you" a voice said and Angel miles away, prayed that Buffy wouldn't scream. She did and it was muffeled and then came to a short terrifying stop.
