Fear: Just Tired
by lessthanangelic1
A/N I folks...guess what...i've discovered that while writting this story i'm writing it in an semi-novel fashion. So it won't be short and will be filled with everything...no even will really be missed...not because i don't want it's just i'm really compulsive that way. So stop reading now if you don't like anything i've had to say!

Buffy arrived at school later than she had expected, but she just couldn't help it- her house had a lot of windows. She made it to school just in time for first period- and just in time to fail a pop quiz.
**So much for not failing** she thought ironically.
After the bell ran Willow, her best friend, caught up to her.
"Hey Buffy! Where were you this morning?" she asked, her face a mask of concern
"Hey Will, I just...woke up late" she finished as Xander came into view. She gave Willow a look that said 'I'll-tell-you-everything-later' as the Xand-man caught up with them.
"Well...I'm assuming that it's because of vampire slayage and not Dead Boy that you overslept."
"Xander! Don't call him Dead Boy!" she snapped, " And yes, as a matter of fact last night was rather busy," she continued, a hint of pink showing on her cheeks to which Xander was oblivious.
"Maybe you should talk to Giles." Willow suggested, as she always did.
"I will, but not now." Buffy stated not wanting to deal with Giles at the moment. "Walk me to French Will?" she asked knowing the answer that was to come.
"Sure, see you later Xander." Willow replied as she linked arms with Buffy and headed off to class.

Later, at lunch, Buffy filled Willow in on the previous night's events.
"It was that bad?" Willow asked with eyes as wide as saucers.
"Yeah...but I WAS tired. Maybe I was imagining it. I mean the feeling disappeared as soon as I ran into Angel." Buffy defended.
"That could be." Willow said, always loyal to the opinions to the slayer...at least most of them.
"But..." prompted Buffy.
Willow sighed, her friend knew her too well and she continued,
"I still think you should talk to Giles. He'd want to know." then off of Buffy's pouty look added "Better safe than sorry, right?"
"I suppose." Buffy relented as she rose from the table she and Willow shared. "Besides, I told Angel I'd call to see if he needed anything." and with that she left to go to the library.

"And yet you saw no one else around you?" Giles asked. She had gotten to the library and told her story to Giles
**And now I have to go through his entire cross-examination** she thought before she answered him.
"No Giles. No one else was around." she said rather exasperated.
"Hmmm...seems odd." he said mostly to himself. "I shall see what I can find." he said as he turned towards her.
"Giles! I was probably just tired" she said for the what felt like the millionth time.
"Still, I'd feel better if I researched it." his annoyance with her attitude obviously showing.
"Fine" she relented and rose to leave the library. She was halfway to the doors when Giles called to her. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she missed what he said to her.
"What?" she asked as she stopped and turned towards him.
"I asked you where you were going." he said, somewhat miffed that she hadn't been listening
**But when does she ever?** her thougth sardonically.
"I'm going home to sleep. That way when I patrol tonight it won't happen again and I can prove that it's just because I'm over-worked and under-paid." she told him. And with that she turned around and walked out.
