Just a Normal Time In Sunnydale.....: Chapter Eleven
by rockangelz25
Oz led Buffy through the forest. They were following a path that didn’t seem very well-traveled. That was, though, probably why the vampires had picked it. “Is his scent still—”
“it’s pretty strong,” he reassured her. She glanced at his watch, trying to read it as he moved along. Seven-forty. They’d been walking for fifteen minutes.
Oz stopped suddenly, then sniffed. He started to go off the path, toward the main road. “is that the path?” Buffy asked. He nodded, kept walking. She kept following him. They kept walking until they reached a large house. With a slight twinge, Buffy remembered that Xander had once described it as “that funky old mansion”. She shook it off.
“This is it?” Not that she had any real doubt. She could practically sense Angelus’s presence. Oz nodded. She kicked the door in.
From further in the house the vampires perked up. “The Slayer,” moaned Dru.
“Buffy never was very patient,” observed Angelus.
“Still, you invited her.”
“Darla, my girl, why don’t you go and welcome her?”
“Ooh… She brought the puppy dog. They’ve come for the child.” Drusilla cocked her head, staring at nothing for a moment, then turned to look down at Xander.
“I told you she’d come,” he gloated from the floor.
“Shut up,” snarled Angelus.
“I’ll go, then,” said Darla, agreeing to Angelus’s previous request.
“Come along, Drusilla…” She trailed off as Drusilla started to shake. “A vision,” Darla noticed impatiently. “Just send her after she recovers,” she tossed over her shoulder as she walked out.
“Something’s come… Something to change us all. And it’s going to swallow the world, send us all to hell. It devoured its way out of the earth. Ooh…”
“ You saw that from a vision?” Angelus asked incredulously. “No, you ninny, she read it in the morning paper.” To prove his point, Spike tossed a newspaper at his grandsire. He caught it and flipped it over to the back. He stared at an article about some new artifact…
Darla strode out to the main room. Oz raised the crossbow, shot an arrow. She caught it an inch away from her heart. “That would’ve hurt,” she pointed out.
Buffy stepped up beside Oz. “Where’s Angel?”
“He’s busy now. You should’ve kept your appointment.” “I had a conflict,” shrugged Buffy.
Drusilla straightened, looked regally at Angelus, then Spike. “I’m going to visit Grandmummy,” she announced. Without saying anything else, she left the room.
“I suppose Darla will bring the Slayer in soon,” noted Angelus.
“So now, the problem is, what do we do with the boy?”
“You kill him before she gets here, she’ll probably pull a Rupert and torch the place. Which would be a direct improvement, but would probably either make us all vampiric torches, or send us sunbathing—either way, very flamy. Roasted Vampire was not what I was looking forward to today.”
“You’re no help,” Angelus commented.
“Nope,” Spike grinned.
“He doesn’t exactly match the décor…”
Drusilla strolled out to see Darla facing off with Oz and Buffy. “Oh. A Slayer. Can I play, too?”
“Sure. If you aren’t too racked with insanity,” Buffy commented.
“She’s a better fighter than you,” Darla shot back.
“Hello, puppy dog. You tried to bite me last time. Can I bite you?” Drusilla then growled and snapped. Oz raised an eyebrow.
“Drusilla, do stop playing with him. No dramatics are needed here—if they were, I would’ve asked for Spike’s company.”
“Mm. Won’t you play, puppy dog?”
“That would leave out Darla,” Oz pointed out cautiously.
“Oh. Grandmummy doesn’t mind, do you?”
“I’ll make nice with the Slayer.”
“That won’t be hard, talking to one of Angel’s sluts.”
“You would know, being his latest one.”
Oz looked between Buffy and Darla, then shook his head. Although he didn’t really object to Buffy getting into a bitch session with an evil being, and thus occupying her, he didn’t really want to go one on one with Drusilla.
“Um, Xander?” he quietly reminded Buffy.
“Darla, as much as I can’t stand you—you aren’t worth Xander.” Without saying anything else, she slammed the vampire upside the head, knocking her out.
“Only one stake,” she responded to Oz’s questioning look. He nodded.
“Grandmummy’s sleeping?” asked Drusilla.
“Yeah. You’re going to be having a longer nap if you aren’t careful.” Buffy walked up to Drusilla and slammed the stake against her chest.
“Ooh—” Drusilla stared down at it.
“Yeah. Impressive,” agreed Buffy. “It’ll be even more impressive if I make you into tiny crazy dust. So, let’s go find your sire, huh?” Drusilla stared at the stake again for a moment, fascinated, then nodded.
Buffy spun the vampire half way around, then pushed her forward, holding the stake to Dru’s back. Oz walked behind Buffy. Angelus, Dru, Spike, Darla, all of them had minions. They had to be around somewhere.
“Daddy!” Drusilla walked into the room where the rest of her “family” was.
“Where’s Darla?” Angelus immediately noticed the absent vampire.
“Sleeping,” Drusilla told him.
“Yup,” agreed Buffy. “Did you kill her?”
“No. Where’s Xander? Tell me, or I’m killing Dru.”
“Your boy’s on the floor,” said Spike, nodding to the now unconscious Xander. Oz was already knelt down by the two still-bleeding holes in Xander’s neck.
“Is there a pulse?”
“Yeah. It’s not too weak, either.”
“Let us walk, and I’ll give you back Dru.”
“Do you honestly expect me to trust you, Buffy?”
“Either that or I’ll kill her now.” She drew back the stake as if to prove the point. Angelus tensed, growled.
“Slayer! Go.” Spike’s voice was louder than Angelus’s. The older vampire wasn’t that upset. Spike actually cared about Dru… More than Angelus did, although he would never admit that.
Buffy started backing away, still holding Drusilla, as Oz picked up Xander. Oz carried out Xander, Buffy in front of them. When Buffy reached sunlight, she pushed Dru back into the mansion and ran into the safety zone.
